While it would appear that the front counter is made of wood, especially judging by the hardwood top surface, caution stripes color the sides - but don't worry, they don't flash or anything. The counter's style is no more distracting than anything else within the shop, in fact it blends in pretty well!
The shopkeeper, Galilea Grimaldi, can usually be found sitting or standing behind the counter alone or with the company of her toddler, Fitz. If not, again - don't worry, she's still somewhere in the store; probably in the backroom or off helping a customer. Hold tight and she'll be right with you!
OOC: Please do not chat in this thread unless it's with the shopkeeper (Shanners)! This thread is for check-out as well as asking questions and/or for assistance, and there are two other threads for RP chatter.

You've already added it up, that's excellent. Thank you for that," Artemis chuckled, handing the young girl her bag and scooping up the coins with her other hand.
Isobel smiled shyly as she took the bag from her. "Thanks," she said before exiting the shop and going to the ice cream parlor to wait for her siblings.
With her odd looking yellow and red freckled pygmy puff on her shoulder and her bag on her arm with a bundle of jokes in her hand Selina approached the counter. Out of her hands cascaded extendable ears, patented daydream charms, a package of forty spell-checking quills, a skiving snackbox, a shield cloak, and of course the cage that would soon hold Owen the pygmy puff.
"Excuse me," Selina began, "I would like to purchase these items, please. Oh, and one more thing, do you have any advice for taking care of this pygmy puff? He is really unique. I don't think I've ever seen one this color."
"Heyy." she said jokily to him, putting down the lipstick thing on the counter- she spotted a jar of those amazing charmed hair grips that did everything to your hair, so she picked out a couple of them and shoved them on the counter too, she pulled out her purse to pay the shopkeeper.

Isobel smiled shyly as she took the bag from her. "Thanks," she said before exiting the shop and going to the ice cream parlor to wait for her siblings.
"You're very welcome, dear. Have a good summer," and with that, Artie waved the child farewell as she turned to exit the noisy shop.

Artie's attention immediately shifted back to the next young girl to approach the counter, setting down the armful of items she wished to purchase. Offering a warm smile, she fished out another bag and began to put each item inside one by one. "Of course." Artie remarked, giving a slight nod of her dark haired head, glancing toward the little Puff on the girl's shoulder. "He has beautiful coloring. As for how to care for a pygmy puff? It's quite easy, really. Just keep him fed but don't over feed him, and don't sit, step on, throw or lose him. Give him love and he'll be a happy little guy. They're low maintance, so no worries." Finishing up with the last of the girl's purchases, Artie set the mini-cage on top and brought the handles of the bag together, ready to hand the young girl her bag, "That comes to 7 galleons, even."

"Hello, dear." Artie greeted warmly, listening tentively as the young girl listed off what she was purchasing, the shopkeeper brought out another bag and, after giving it a tap with her wand to lighten the load, began to place the items on the counter inside, giving another flick of her wand to summon the requested backroom goodies. Something the girl said caused her to pause for a moment, eyebrows raising a tiny bit and an uncertain look crossing her face, "We don't sell..erh, what was it? Hair grips? That sounds like something Primpernelle's would have, though. Nor do we sell quills, dear.. that would be Scribbulus Ever Changing-Inks." Artie informed the young one gently, patient as ever despite her puzzlement as to why children continued to think her store would carry such odd products that weren't joke shop related. The pygmy puffs, however, she could help her with. "The color of a Puff doesn't make a difference, kiddo. A pygmy puff is a pygmy puff, no matter size or color, and they are very easy to look after. All you have to do is feed them regularly, keep them from harm's way and love them as you would any pet, and you're both set! Now, the total.." Artie mused for the briefest of moments, she finished bagging everything and scooted the bag closer to the girl, "Comes to 13 galleons and 14 sickles."

Mafalda walked towards the counter and put a set of five Dungbowbs on the counter. She imagined setting off the Dungbobs in Arithmancy. She put a Galleon on the counter.
Fiona made her way to the check out counter, her arms full of WWW products. She deposited everything from her arms to the counter: one skiving snackbox, a pack of dungbombs, a pack of canary creams, a pack of extendable ears, one bag of glow-o-oh-no?, a bag of jelly legs, one bag of memory decoys, a basic blaze box, one bag of itchy pox, and, " I would like one box of instant darkness powder, please" Fiona smiled at the woman behind the counter. "Oh and just so you know, you'll probably be seeing me in here a lot!" Well she had to live up to her reputation now, didn't she?

Ah, another young girl. It seemed there were far more of them, than young boy's this summer. That was a change, not that Artie minded even a bit. She was a little curious as to if she would see a few of the more talkative Hogwarts students that had come in last summer, since none had so far. It seemed this one, though, would be. "Will I? Well, I hope you're serious about that; I'll look forward to your visits, little Miss." Pausing as an enchanted box flew slowly overhead, Artemis grabbed the box once it was within her reach and found a place to set it within the bag before continueing, "Though I'm afraid I can't sell you these-" A slight frown had taken over her warm expression, gesturing a hand at the Basic Blaze Box of fireworks. "-without your parents or guardians permission, unless and until you're fifteen years of age, my dear. Do you suppose you can get permission?"

Adam stood in line.He needed to ask if he could buy a Pymgy Puff even if he was 13. He sure hoped one of the employees would see him. His parents hadn't given him much time to be at Diagon Alley- just two days out here on his own.He held the pink fluffball Kurumi had been admiring a day before, it was nice and curled up in his hand...This surely would make her forget everything he had ever done to her.

Noticing her boss was busy helping others, Millie figured she ought to get out there and help some people. After all, if she didn't help anyone and sell some stuff, Artie might fire her - and Merlin knew she needed the money! Spotting a small boy who seemed perplexed, the brunette decided this was her shot. Clearing her throat, she gave a small smile. "Excuse me," she said quietly. "Can I help you with something?"

"Yes, I was wondering if 13 year olds are allowed to buy Pymgy Puffs, and if so- I would like to pay whenever you are free to help me cash out."Adam told the worker, holding, the pink fluff ball in his hand.
The Lockhart boy walked to the counter, or at least he thought it was, and kind of waited for Cricket (Harper) to arrive with her pygmy puff. It was rather odd that he'd pay for one when he wasn't holding it in the first place, right?
So, he stood there, almost whistling, until Cricket came around, and then said to no one in particular (because he was eying the purple pygmy puff he was buying as a gift), "I'd like to buy this," he said, gesturing towards the pygmy puff (or rather, its cage) that Cricket was holding.
Cricket beamed as she rested the caged pygmy puff on the counter for the shopkeeper to see. Oooh hurry up and buy it buy it buy it BUY IT, Lockhart!
She bobbed back and forth in anticipation, the smile never leaving her face. A PET! Fiiiiiinnnally! She had never had her own. And...even if it wasn't a real pet *eye roll*, it was still a cutey.
"Yesss he would very much, yes yes," she murmured, when Treyen said he would like to buy it. It. It. Hmm. What was it? He or she? Pretzel could be a name for anything.
"Trey, Trey, Trey, ask if they eat PRETZELS." she hissed, tugging at his shirt.
Ivan walked up to the counter, money bag in hand, and looked over his shoulder to make sure Lexi was on her way. Nodding in satisfaction as he saw her coming and turned back toward the counter spotting someone behind it he smiled and said swiftly without thinking, "My girlfriend is wanting a bunch of Pygmy Puff stuff as well ast he critter itself," he said making a gesture over his shoulder at Lexi without looking, "I'm going to pay for it." Wait...what had he just said? No he knew what he said and he winced hopefully she hadn't caught up and heard. Please no. Please no. Please no.

Lexi was trotting up behind Ivan when she heard him say... that thing. Her mouth dropped open for a moment and she stopped walking. A little giggle burst from her lips and she felt her cheeks burn a bit. "Ivan... that's so sweet!" she squealed. Walking up beside him she slipped her arm around his waist and smiled up at him. He was so precious!! Juniper meeped in unison with Lexi's squealing. Too cute.

Accepting the coins, Artie shifted slightly toward the register to drop them inside as she explained, "They eat pretty much anything you give them. I suppose it depends on the Puff, most tend not to be finicky eaters but.." Artie shrugged, as if to say 'you never know.' "Usually, I'd give them something soft and mushy. Easier for them to eat. Just make sure not to feed it too much at a time, being as small as your hand their tummy's are about as big as the tip of your finger."

"Soft things, mostily. But nothing sugary like candy or chocolate, nothing like that. Apple sauce, for example, is something they'd be able to eat; they basically eat anything you give them, just make sure not to over-feed it." Artie answered, already placing the items in a bag. After taking three all-flavors variety bags of Mischief Managed from behind her counter and adding them to the bag, the shopkeeper offered the girl her purchases. "Your total comes to 11 galleons and 12 sickles, dear."

Eyebrows raising slightly, Artie's warm smile never left as she waited for the young man in front of her counter to ask a question or something, since he wasn't holding any products to checkout. Hmm, perhaps he was shy? "Hello, welcome to Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes." Greeted the dark haired woman, folding her hands on the countertop. Her gaze moved toward the young girl who came up beside the boy and at last, the boy spoke up. Amusement evident in her features, Artie couldn't help but notice the way he was eying the little ball of fluff she assumed was in the carrier cage. "Will that be all for you two?" She asked, taking a peek at the cage herself to be sure they hadn't forgotten the pygmy puff itself. Artemis added, "Do you have any questions, dears?" when the girl began to tug at the boy's shirt much like a small child would their parent, trying to get their attention.

Oh wasn't he sweet? Millie bit her lower lip as she looked around to see if her boss was ringing up pygmy puffs for any young ones. She could recall vaguely in her training about age limits, but couldn't remember if pygmy puff was one of them... BUT she honestly couldn't imagine they would be; after all, they were perfectly harmless creatures. A five year old could probably take of one. "Yes, presuming you have the money to purchase one. They're one galleon and very low maintenance." Until they started shedding puffs of cotton-like substance everywhere.

Adam searched his pant pockets and rummaged for a galleon...After many seconds of searching he found the galleon and passed it to the employee.
"Here you go, that should pay up for the Pymgy Puff-shouldn't it."He said smiling, hoping she would take the wizard money.

Well, it was pretty obvious that Treyen had been resisting the urge to roll his eyes up until the moment when Cricket tugged at his shirt.
Seriously? She was a shy one now? Hahaha. That was just hilarious, after all, they'd say that she could be the one asking the most important question of all, and here she was asking him to do so.
Sigh. The boy shook his head in disbelief.
SPOILER!!: pretty Artie =)

Hey...now, Harper was sure Treyen was curious as to the answer to that question, too. But, the question was asked and that was what she wanted.
She smiled contentedly, arms crossed. Now, how about: salty pretzels? Plain pretzels? Flavored pretzels? Big pretzels? Small pretzels? Thin pretzels? Fat pretzels? These things she also wanted to know, but after appraising Treyen's expression she decided not to press it. She would find out on her own.
Oooh, but but but! "Do they bite?" she blurted, raising an eyebrow at the super oh so kind and nice lady behind the counter. She did her best not to look at Treyen. Yes, she kind of believed him about the whole No-Biting thing, but...why not ask an expert?

"Oh very serious! I'm Fiona, by the way." Fiona smiled at the shopkeeper. "Hmmm..." Fiona paused for a moment, thinking hard about the fireworks. Did she really need them? " Well... mum would kill me if she knew that I was buying more joke stuff. After what happened last time with Mal..." Fiona thought. "You know what, I think I'll pass on the fireworks this time. Everything else I'll take, thank you." Fiona said as she fished coins out of her pocket. "How much will it all be?"
