While it would appear that the front counter is made of wood, especially judging by the hardwood top surface, caution stripes color the sides - but don't worry, they don't flash or anything. The counter's style is no more distracting than anything else within the shop, in fact it blends in pretty well!
The shopkeeper, Galilea Grimaldi, can usually be found sitting or standing behind the counter alone or with the company of her toddler, Fitz. If not, again - don't worry, she's still somewhere in the store; probably in the backroom or off helping a customer. Hold tight and she'll be right with you!

I'm just not sure exactly would be best." She really had no clue what she was doing in this shop maybe she should have just brought him with her instead of trying to surprise him.
PUPPY LOVE. Pippin the puppy gave the woman a lick on the hand and wagged his tail happily. He LOVED LOVE.
Wesley grinned at the woman as she described what she needed help with. Ah, son was prankster, well done. And he needed some presents for his summer spent at his father's house. "I seeeee," he said, nodding his head (although she couldn't see it at the moment but he still didn't know).
"Well, lucky for you, I know JUST what he'll like." Not really, but out of all the things in the shop, they were bound to find something. And lucky for both of them, he had quite a few examples hiding under the counter. Wesley stooped down behind his counter and, a couple seconds later, dumped several items on the counter between them.
First, he held up a pair of trainers, tennis shoes, whatever you wanted to call them. "Sticky Trainers," he announced. "Walk on the walls, walk on the ceiling, walk on the bathroom mirror, if you like. Just don't try to run. You'll likely fall."
Wes set those aside and then held up an ear. An ear on a string. "Extendable ears. Excellent for eavesdropping."
"Of course, our most famous and highly favorited Skiving Snackboxes." He grabbed a wooden box and opened it up to reveal several different wrapped candies. "Take your pick between Fainting Fancies, Fever Fudge, Nosebleed Nougats and Puking Pastilles. Excellent for the pranksters, even better for those who just want a good excuse to get out of a family gathering." He knew from experience.
"Then, of course, we've got Fake Wands, Trick wands, Headless Hats, Dungbombs, Belch Powder, Frog Spawn Soap, and the classic U-No-Poo." With all the items on display on the counter, Wesley grinned once again. "And of course, there's always more on the shelves, but these are just a few ideas." Did any tickle her fancy?

She smiled softly as he seemed very excited about the products. That was always a great thing when buying having someone who enjoyed what they did.

With a perplexed look on his face (that she still couldn't see), Wesley curiously patted his head to find... Oh. He WAS wearing a Headless Hat. Is that why everyone had been looking at him strange today? "Heheh," he chuckled as he took off the hat and his face suddenly came back into view. "Just testing out the merchandise! It works!" Hooraaaayyy!
U-No-Poo. Wesley's grin returned. "U-No-Poo. Delightful little pills," he said pleasantly. "They make you constipated." Just in case that wasn't clear by the "no poo" part. "I'm currently working on a candy form of the product. The blueberry tastes wonderful, but I can't quite get the raspberry right." And his testing had led to quite a few.... uncomfortable days.

Victoria took it all in, everything he was saying about these sneakers. She’d have to admit these were pretty neat. “No I guess you wouldn’t.” smiling towards his comment. They would have to be safe if he was still selling them that was obvious. “Alright I think you have sold me on them. I think my son will love them.” Though she had to worry a little about his coordination issues if this would be a problem, but let it slip out of her mind.
Her polite smile went wider as she laughed at the man realizing he was wearing the headless hat. As he took of the hat Vic was a bit shocked to find the man seemed to be about her age. She had assumed he was younger with his whole hearted spirit about pranks, but of course he was a man. Did they ever truly grow up? “I do believe you can put that one on the success shelf. Though I have to admit seeing your face is a little easier to focus on what you are telling me.” The headless thing was distracting.
“Those sound just dreadful. I’ll take a couple.” Bart will love giving these to his stepmother and she tried to hide the smile that was forming thinking about it. “I hope that you don’t have to test the product out on just yourself all the time.” If he was eating these candies, the poor man had to be miserable.
She glanced around and gave the pooch another pet, “I think the sneakers, the U-No-Poo, and one of those snack boxes was it?” she couldn’t remember the exact name, but it sounded like something Bart would like. “I’ll take those things please.”

Wahoooo, we had a purchase! He also had a head again, thanks to her. Wesley laughed sheepishly. "I tend to be forgetful," he admitted, even though it was apparent.
Wes was grinning as the woman was making her final decision. "All excellent choices, my friend. I believe your son will have an excellent vacation." The boy's father, however... heh. Probably not so much. Wes summoned a fresh pair of Sticky Trainers, a box of U-No-Poo, and a new Skiving Snackbox and bagged them up for her.
"That'll be four galleons and 10 sickles." In exchange for a whole lot of awesome.

Wes nearly gasped when she pulled a dog treat out of her purse. Pippin LOVED treats. The puppy had been sitting patiently by the counter, but now he was up and wagging his tail in excitement, eyeing the treat. But no barking. Because he was a good little puppy.
"Go for it," Wes said with a grin. He took her money and counted out the change. Once he was done, he pushed her bag of tricks across the counter and held out her change. "Anything else I can do for you today?"

Wesley was grinning and his puppy was excitedly nomming on his dog treat after he gave affectionate kisses to the woman's hand. It was a good day for everyone, wasn't it?!
"I'm glad I could help! Come back anytime!" He was sure she wouldn't be disappointed by her son's trip to the ex's house for the summer. Bwahaha. Wesley Roderick. Helping people get revenge since 2083. He gave her a gleeful wave as she walked out the door and then stuffed the headless hat under his counter. Just so he wouldn't lose his head again without realizing it.

LET THE HALLOWEEN-NESS BEGIN!!!!!
Wesley was SO excited for Halloween. Every Halloween was great, but this year was particularly exciting because of the massive party Diagon Alley was holding. For this Halloween night, the entire shop was covered in massive cobwebs with fake spiders hanging from all of them. The lights were flickering, and a thick cloud of fog covered the floor, making it hard to see just where you were stepping.
Somewhere in the shop, the shopkeeper is waiting.... waaaiting for his trick-or-treaters...
Adriana knew that her Noemi would want to stop by the joke shop first thing. This store was started by a member of the famous Weasley clan, right? Noemi wouldn't know, but Adriana remembered the redheads. They were well-known, even in Spain.
Now Noemi was grabbing hold of everything in the store. She was like that. Quite the little prankster.
"Emi, dear?" she interrupted. "You're not getting all that stuff. Put half of that back." Noemi had piled everything up on the counter.
Noemi Dominguez loved pranks. And buying junk. Material possessions comforted her, whatever that meant. That's what her mamá always said. So she really wanted all of the items in her hands. She stuffed them onto the counter and looked expectantly.
"May I have these, please?" she asked, not listening to her mother.

After hiding between aisles in the shop, Wesley finally heard voices of the first visitors of the night. Before he could leave, his puppy named Pippin, dressed up in a Peter Pan costume bolted out from behind a cobweb and bounded down the aisle to meet the first people of the night. He barked cheerfully and jumped up at the little girl and her mother.
Soon after followed the shopkeeper, donned in a Captain Hook costume. "AARRRRRRRR!!! HAPPY HALLOWEEEEN!!!" he shouted cheerfully. Even if Captain Hook wasn't exactly cheerful, Wesley wasn't exactly capable of being mean or scary. Then Wesley held out a large bowl, stuffed full with all sorts of different candies and tricks and pranks from the store. "Would you like a TRICK or a TREAT?" She could decide!
Oliver had grown more and more excited on the walk down to the joke shop. He was never really allowed to get much from the store but he loved being there to see how everything worked. The joke shop was probably one of the happiest place in Diagon Alley and if he could stay in there all the time he would...but then he wouldn't be able to get ice cream which was a close second on favorite shops in DA so he was okay with having to leave the place.
Walking close to his mummy, he made sure to listen to Timmy and Gwen when they talked so he wouldn't be left out. He didn't have very much to say, especially since they didn't speak too much either, but he was okay with that. Ollie was much more of a wallflower anyhow. As they arrived at the store, he smiled up at his mum and let go of her hand so he could go walk around with Timmy and Gwen. "I'll be okay, thank you!"
Sticking behind his twin sister, he grinned at both of those girls and waited. He was there to look so they could lead the way.

Gwen walked and talked with the two. They seemed nice enough. Probably about level with that Harper kid. Except they didn't have the tricks that boy had. Still. Friends would get her dad off her back, even if it was only for a little while.
...but that Timmy girl. Pushing towards the counter was something Gwen had already planned on doing...and this one did it for her. Gwen smiled, following after the twins. "Trick or treat!" She shoved her bag out there as well. Candy was candy.

Aria nodded. She let go of Ollie's hand and watched him go behind his sister. "I'll be over here if you need me," She called out, before heading off and looking for something to buy. Maybe her husband would enjoy a few tricks she could buy here.
"C'mon, Ollie! Let's get a treat!" Timmy grabbed her brother's hand and walked quickly towards the counter. No way someone else was going to get there before they did. The twins were way more important than anyone else here. Yup. "Trick or treat!" Timmy said, sticking her bag out in front of the coutner; that she could barely reach.

Hearing more people enter the shop, the first thing come bounding around the corner was a cute little puppy dressed up in a Peter Pan costume. The puppy barked cheerfully and jumped up the legs of the little kids, begging to be LOVED. Puppies needed love, you know.
Soon after followed the shopkeeper in a Captain Hook costume, rolling in on a skateboard. "AAARRRGG, MATEYS!" he shouted, doing his best pirate impression (that wasn't all that good, to be honest). He held out his HOOKED hand that was holding a large bucket of different candies and other tricks and gags from the shop. "Take your pick, little ones, and hope it's not a teacup that'll bite your little nose!" Although, those were fun to give to siblings.
From the street outside, echoes of a booming speech reached the ears of the shopkeeper, and the remaining Halloweeners. "Or you can surrender all your bounties right now and right here! SURRENDER. NOW! CANDY FOR THE REAL SCARE IN DIAGON ALLEY! SURRENDER!” Noise of chaos broke out and became quite clear. “SURRENDER! CANDY FOR THE MAN! SURRENDER!" Soon it was turning into a song, and he continued zigzagging the sky and singing to surrender their candy, flashes of the curses he was shooting randomly were visible from the windows of the shop.

Jasmine neared the front counter and took her place in line. Holding her little puff, she spent the idle time bonding with him. She couldnt wait to take the little guy to school with her. Hopefully school would be warm again and adequate for human and animal life.
Finally, Jasmine reached the counter and placed her pygmy puff's cage atop it. All she had to do now was pay for her items and so she waited for the shopkeeper to help her.

Wesley zoomed in an out of isles on a new hovering skateboard toy that he was working on. When he saw someone down at the counter, he rounded the corner and zoomed towards it. However, STOPPING was an issue.
CRASH!!!
The board continued hurtling towards the counter, causing the shopkeeper to crash into it before falling to the floor. "Still working on the brakes!" he shouted from behind before popping up onto his feet to see a young girl and a lovely little pygmy puff.
"Afternoon. Will this little guy be all for you today?" he asked casually, as if his kneecap weren't currently throbbing. It was all good.

The shopkeeper didn't miss a beat and proceeded to wait on Jasmine. "Uh....yes, the pygmy puff and the cage", she responded. "That I'll be it." Just a few more minutes and the puff would be all hers.

Good, it was good to know that the shopkeeper hadn't suffered any serious damage. Taking out her money, Jasmine handed it to the shopkeeper. Looking down at her puff and then at the shopkeeper, Jasmine said, "Well I guess that's it then." Was there anything else? She figured she'd wait briefly to find out and if not, she would join Lex an head over to the Magical Menagerie.

It was a pretty slow day at the shop today, but Annaleah didn't mind. That was to be expected at times, and ANYWAY it gave her time to read. Which was exactly what she was doing right now, relaxing in her chair behind the counter, looking through her new car magazine for the month. There were some really nice new models coming out...Merlin, if only she had the money for them all. That would be AWESOME.
But alas. She could only dream for now.

Charlotte smiled as she placed her bounty on the counter. She put the two pygmy puffs down, along with the cages for them. She put the skiving snackboxes, canary creams, edible dark marks, grow your own warts kit and u-no-poo on the counter also. She couldn't wait to ask what price the portable swamp was. She wanted to put one in her Muggle sisters bedroom as a prank!

Hearing some things being set on the counter in front of her, Annaleah looked up from her magazine and - oh! A customer!
"Oh, hello!" she said brightly, setting her magazine aside and jumping to her feet. "I hope you're having a good day. Will you be buying all this?" There was quite a lot here. This young lady must be a big fan of pranks and pygmy puffs. Which was good! Annaleah definitely approved.
