On the opposite side of the shop from the pygmy puffs is a brand new, brightly colored area. Large balloons in various animal shapes float above a colorful and slightly falling apart stand with a giant helium tank sitting beside it. A few feet away are several shelves full of every magical toy you could ever dream of, just waiting for you to take them home.
Looking for that perfect birthday present? What’s better than a miniature Quidditch set? Complete with a two-feet-wide Quidditch Pitch and your own quidditch teams to play the game while you watch! Or how about a mini Magizoo set? You can take care of your own magical creatures right in your house! Feel free to browse the shelves! You’ll find everything from teddy bears to enchanted model trains! These toys are great as birthday or Christmas gifts, or even just to buy for your own entertainment. You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy toys, either. You’ll find that there are toys for every age! If you have a question or need assistance, please ask the shopkeeper. Please don’t try to reach the high shelf items by yourself.
If balloons are more your thing, prepare to be amazed! That is no ordinary tank of helium. Is it even legal helium at all? Who knows! This magical helium is charmed to keep your balloons high in the air... FOREVER! No more droopy birthday balloons! The balloons come in four different sizes (small, medium, large, super-jumbo) and 10 different animal shapes. Could it get better than that? YES, because the animals MOVE. Wow! Talk about awesome. If you would like to purchase balloons, please ring the bell on the balloon counter and the shopkeeper will be there to assist you in a moment. Please do not try to use the helium tank by yourself.
OOC: Feel free to role-play all you like in this thread! If you need the shopkeeper’s assistance, just ring the bell! Please do not role-play for the shopkeeper (Shanners), and most importantly, have fun!
Landon took a deep breath in and out as she said no. "Do you trust me now?" He asked her. He needed to know. Because if she didn't well...they wouldn't work out again. A relationship needed trust. "I trust you...I just...why would you lie to me about having a boyfriend?" He still didn't understand that part. Girls definitely confused him.
"You can keep the presents, by the way." He muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. Just in case she thought she couldn't anymore because he got upset.
That was another question. Three years ago, she would've said yes without any hesitation. A year and a half ago, it would be a firm no. And now? Melanie wasn't so sure. She thought about it for a moment, twisting her bracelet around her wrist over and over again. "I... I do," Melanie said, nodding her head slowly.
He gave her no reason to not trust him. At least not now. He had explained everything and wasn't that a sign that you could trust that person? She would have to ask Abby about it.
And then he brought that question up. The one she didn't know how to answer properly without sounding stupid.
"... I panicked."

Landon nodded as Melanie said that she does trust him. Well that's good to know. But he still didn't understand how they weren't even best friends anymore. He'd have to ask her about that another day, because today was already dramatic enough.
She...panicked? "Why? Did I do something?" He asked. Now he was worried. Did he do something that she had to lie to him? What was it?

What?
"N-no!" Melanie said quickly, eyes wide open as she shook her head from side to side. "You didn't do anything wrong, promise." She held out her pinky for him too. "Pinky promise," she added, just in case he forgot what the pinky out was for.
But why had she done it? She had no other explanation other than she had panicked and hadn't known what else to say. And Melanie wasn't even sure why she thought lying would be a better option than to just enjoy the moment. But it definitely felt like a weight was lifted off once they had moved past the really... the stuff.

Oh. So he didn't do anything? Nope. It seems not. He almost laughed, but stopped himself as she held out her pinky for him to take. He remembered the first time they met and she did the same thing. He wrapped his pinky around hers and then let go.
So she panicked...for no reason? And he did nothing to make her panic? He was so confused. "Well then...why did you panic?" He asked, taking another step towards her.

There was a small smile on her face when he wrapped his pinky around hers. The first time they had met they had made a pinky promise. She couldn't remember what the promise was but it was something silly. Thinking about the first time they met made Melanie smile grow a little more. The funny thing was that Landon didn't seem to know what a pinky promise was when they first met either. That made Melanie want to giggle at the thought.
But she didn't.
"Things... were just... I don't know," Melanie said, blushing as he took another step closer to her. "It was just... first thing that came to mind." Also known as what Melanie thought was the quickest way to not embarrass herself. Except it did embarrass her and made her feel horrible afterwards.

And there she went blushing again. Landon wondered if she had a hard time controlling her blushing or maybe he was the problem of it. Either way, he did think she was adorable when she blushed. Heh.
"I still don't understand, Melanie. All I said was that you liked me and then you told me you had a boyfriend. You could've just said that you didn't like me. So I guess the question here is...do you or do you not like me?" He asked. His face was almost like a poker face at this point. He didn't want her reading into him as she chose. He wanted to know how she truly felt that way he wouldn't be wasting his time.

She was the master of her own heartbeat.
And if she wanted it to slow down, it shouldn't be that hard right? And if she wanted herself to stop blushing, it shouldn't be that hard either. And Landon was asking questions again. There was a time when Melanie had asked a million questions. Now she wondered if this is what the other people felt like when they were asked question after question... like they were put there in the middle of a spotlight, trying to find the right answer.
Her first instinct was to say no. She had gotten so used to saying no that she didn't like him. It had taken her a while to get herself to say that and truly believe it. Then he just casually waltzed back into her life and made it hard for her to tell herself that again. These were the moments where she wasn't sure who to listen to; the brain or the heart or the gut? Usually the heart and the gut agreed on the same things and it was usually two against one so Melanie felt obligated to side with the side with the one and it ended up in a tie.
After a long pause, and a bit of fiddling with her bracelet, she closed her eyes and let out a breath. "Yes."
And that was all she was saying.

Landon waited patiently, wanting to know what her answer would be. She always seemed to say that she didn't like him but he was never sure and now, he wanted to know the real answer. If she didn't like him, then he would walk out of her life. He didn't want to bother her. And if she did like him well...there would be choices that he'd have to make.
It felt like a million years went by and then he heard it. Yes. Did he hear her correctly? Of course he did. He internally smacked himself, trying to wake himself up from the daze that he was in. He shook his head and a big smile showed upon his face.
"And this took you how long to realize?!" He laughed. He quickly walked up to her and grabbed her in a hug-like grasp, spinning her around. He stopped once he started to get dizzy and looked down at her. "I hope your fake boyfriend doesn't get jealous." He winked. He leaned closer to her, hesitating a bit, but then he kissed her. Was it possible to like this kiss more than the first one they shared? Because he definitely thought so. He pulled away and looked at her face, trying to see if she was mad at him or not. Because he could stop. Not that he wanted to. But he could.
Mr. Unicorn: Kim's daughter: Jenn's sister : MILKSHAKES: Lita Daley: The Sun: Its so Fluffy!
Balloons balloons and more balloons. Tag began to grab a few more, going for the unicorn balloons first and then the crup balloons, really he started filling up the balloons that appealed to him first. Head smack. Though it was fun filling them up and the such. The not so fun part was tying the ribbon around it. This little blonde boy was having trouble with the string and kept losing his grasp on it. Dropping one of the ribbons Tag bent down to pick it up and as he was coming back up he saw something that made his eyes and throat burn. Tag was gonna gag, yep. Making a near to yacking face Tag shouted, "Go snog Melanie somewhere else Landon! Go bother another intern's shop, yeah?!" No one needed to see this monstrosity. Especially when it came to family. YUCK!
"Any...anyone want a balloon? Any...any" Tag shook the head trying to get the image out of his mind. The boy was incapable of any speech at the moment. Horrifying. "Just today they're free..." He covered his mouth instantly, just in case.

Melanie wondered if that was a serious question.
Because she had a serious answer to that question and the answer was three years. But him laughing and smiling made Melanie feel like it was a rhetorical question. Despite it probably being a rhetorical question, Melanie had opened her mouth to reply before he spun her around. Holding onto him tightly, in case he decided dropping her would be funny, she laughed.
It was like one of those tea cup rides in those amusement parks where you kept spinning until you were too tired to spin anymore or felt like vomiting or something. Except this didn't give her that feeling. And Melanie didn't even get a word in before she saw him moving in closer. She knew what that meant and she knew she could've pushed him away or something but she didn't. And in a second, she felt his lips on hers.
Melanie was really starting to feel like Landon did things on purpose so that she'd turn red like a strawberry. After he kissed her, Melanie's face was probably the same shade as a strawberry or a cherry or even a firetruck. She was about to say something when she heard her name... and Landon's name... in the same sentence with the word snog. Blushing even more, she readjusted his beanie on her head. "Hi Tag," she said feebly, waving at him.
Awkward.
Then she turned to Landon.
"Landon... You could've popped my rabbit balloon."
Because Tag had reminded her and all.

Because Tag had reminded her and all.
Once Landon pulled away he heard a familiar shout coming from his right and he turned and saw Tag. Really? Did he have to be here right now? "Oh shush, you leprechaun. Go back to work." He laughed, letting go of Melanie just so if anyone else came by, they wouldn't know what had just happened. Though he was pretty sure everyone in the shop heard Tag's shouting. Whatever. He could care less right now. Though he'd remember not to come into this shop again or when Tag was working.
He turned back to Melanie and before he could say anything, she said words that he was definitely not expecting. He raised an eyebrow and laughed at her. "I kiss you and all you can say is that I could've popped your balloon?" He rolled his eyes. He definitely did not know what to expect from her, that was for sure.

Melanie would like to hide her face in the beanie. Yes. Tag should go back to work and pretend he saw nothing. That would be nice. It would save Melanie the embarrassment. She was pretty sure she wouldn't be able to look at Tag from now on without feeling uncomfortable or anything of that sort. Melanie slipped her hand into Landon's when he pulled away. Melanie's fuzzy feeling in her tummy did not like it when Landon let go of her.
She looked at Landon and shrugged with a smile on her face.
"I really like my balloon. It's cute," she said, going on her tippytoes and giving him a quick peck on the cheek, blushing a little before looking at the things around them. "Oh look, bear-hug bears!"

Landon was about to say something else to Tag when he felt Melanie's hand in his own. It felt...right. He could only smile back at her and this moment was definitely going to be one of those that he'd look back on and laugh about.
"I'm definitely going to look at balloons in a different way now." He said, looking up at hers. He watched as she blushed after she kissed his cheek and he shook his head. "Do you have a switch or something that makes you blush all the time?" He laughed. ...Bear-hug bears? Those things even existed? He walked over to the stock of them and tilted his head. Maybe he'd get one for Daphne. Hah.

He was not letting go of her hand and Melanie was perfectly okay with that.
He was going to look at balloons in a different way now? "So you're going to get one?" Melanie asked. Because he could totally get one. Landon could get like a pirate ship balloon or something. Then her rabbit with a sword could be a pirate, right? Pirates were interesting people... it seemed like a male-dominant profession. Very interesting.
"No, I'm a person, Landon, not a robot," Melanie said, sticking her tongue out at him. A switch. Hmph. If she had a switch for this stuff did he really think that she'd choose to blush all the time. "Plus, I'm not even blushing. It's just... just... y'know... really... warm..." Melanie was pretty sure she had used that excuse before... but over a year ago, so it was okay, wasn't it?
She looked at the bear-hug bears and picked on up. "How do these work...?" she asked Landon, putting one close to his face. She was expecting the teddy bear to latch onto his face or something. Come one, bear... give Landon's face a giant bear hug.

So was he going to get a balloon? "No way, I still won't get one." He shook his head. Too many bad memories with them when he was a kid. He'll just let Melanie stick with the balloons.
He rolled his eyes at her as she said she was a person and not a robot. Of course he knew that, but the way she blushed it was like an on and off switch. Everytime he said something she would blush. Maybe not everytime he said something, but specific times. Hadn't he heard that excuse before? "One of these days, you'll admit to blushing. I know you will...or I'll have to make you admit to it." He smirked.
He watched as she picked up the bear-hug teddy bear and put it in her face. "What are you doing?" He said, backing up from it. He didn't want to be suffocated by a teddy bear. He remembered three years ago when he was terrified of them, so she was even lucky that he was even this close to them.

He wasn't getting a balloon. Well then. "I suppose we'll just have to share my Sir Knight. He's 90 percent mine though," Melanie said, smirking and then poking him with it. Because she had gotten it for herself... but was going to share. Therefore, majority of the balloon belonged to her; preferably the sword part for poking reasons.
Melanie Sung was never going to admit to blushing. She hadn't admitted it to him four years ago and she was definitely not going to admit it to him now or anywhere in the foreseeable future. "You're going to have to wait an awfully long time for that to happen, Pobby," she said, shrugging her shoulders. Or more like forever.
"Trying to see if it'll hug your face," Melanie said before lowering the teddy bear. It was not hugging Landon's face. Maybe it needed batteries or something? "I don't this one is working," Melanie said, setting it back down with the rest and patting it's head. "It's a shame, he was cute." Like really cute. But it was okay because Melanie already got a teddy bear from Landon named Ray. And Ray was really cute too.

Landon was perfectly fine with Melanie owning 90% of the balloon. "You can have all of it, if you'd like. I don't know what I'd even do with the 10% of it." He laughed. He was sure one day though that he'd make her admit to blushing. Maybe he'd steal her balloon or something and won't give it back until she admits that she's blushing. Maaayybe. Heh.
"Well it's definitely not hugging my face." He said, backing up some more from the bear. They were creepy sometimes. He was happy it wasn't working now too. He remembered then that he was supposed to meet up with Daphne and he checked his watch to see that it was already five. "Melanie! I have to go actually. I was supposed to meet Daphne at Florean's at five and she's probably freaking out right now. Thanks for today though; I had fun. I'll see you later!" He grinned, giving her a quick kiss and running out of the shop.

It was once again time to meet Alice at their favorite shop on the whole Alley and see just what Mr. Shopkeeper with the very cute face had that was NEW. Caterina didn't want to look at too many things just yet because Alice wasn't even there. So, she picked up the first item she spotted. A Peeves in a box.
After turning it around in her hands a few times, Cat started turning the crank, waiting for the Peeves to jump out. Even though she knew it was going to happen, she also knew that she was going to be totally scared when it did. That was the best part.

She was a little late finding Cat, JUST a little, only because she'd spent a couple minutes staring at Mr. Shopkeeper through the window. Alice thought being interesting was more important than being attractive, but that didn't mean she couldn't appreciate the beautiful work of art that was his face, right? So she took her time.... appreciating.
Ahem.
"Peeves in a box? That's a serious downgrade from pogo sticks, Caterina Ocarina."

Do do do do do... this thing was taking rather long, wasn't it? Just long enough for her to collect an Alice. Cat kept turning the crank, but directed her attention to Alice. "This is just the warm up, Alice Palace. I couldn't really get started until you arrived, now could I?" Of course not!
Cat glanced back at the toy just in time for the Peeves to jump out and catch her off guard. With a squeal, she tossed the box in the air and scrambled for Alice. "Alice! HOLD ME." EEEEEEEEEEEEEP.
The balloons looked cool. Like, really really REALLY cool. Hehe. He wanted one. BUt there were a loooot to choose from. Hmm. This would take some careful thinking. He wondered which was annoy his nanny the most. Something loud.
He grinned wickedly. He would pick the most ANNOYING and LOUDEST balloon because it would be so FUN to annoy her. Hehe. Now he just needed help.
Hmm.
He looked around..the shopkeepers were either busy or not around...and the sign said tp ring the bell..so...he did. He rang it.
Once.
Twice.
THREE times.
Hehe the bell was kind of bell so just kept ringing it...until someone would come. Then he would stop. Yep.

Salazar Slytherin would be SO proud.
A Peeves-in-a-box for a warm up? Alice was still considering what other items they could maybe buy- because SHE wasn't playing with little kid items- when the poltergeist jumped out and sent Cat scrambling.
Er. Yes. Could definitely see why her friend wasn't a Gryffindor.
Quidditch skills kicking into gear, she managed to grab the toy with one hand and patted Cat's head with the other. Reassuring enough, right? Right. "This is why we should stick to pogo-ing."

How PERFECT! Wesley was just about to show his interns how to blow up the balloons, and they even had a customer ready! Very ready, apparently, because he was ringing that bell like the world was going to end. "Aaaalright, hyper-hands, I got your message." Wesley plucked the bell away from the kid and leaned against the balloon stand.
"What can I get for you, young sir?" he asked with a grin.

Cat flailed a little and made a frowny face at Alice. "Alice. Alice. This is not holding. That was head patting. These are two completely different things." But Cat was glad that Alice had caught the Peeves-in-a-box and it hadn't fallen and broken. She didn't want to waste her money on buying something creepy, even if it was broken.
"We need to find something just as epic as our pogo sticks, yes." She gave up on trying to get Alice to hold her and gave herself a hug instead, then she turned her attention to the shelf, "See anything new?"

Baelyn looked up. Hyper hands. He quickly put his hands behind his back. "Sorry. But it was fun to ring. " He said and grinned. He looked at the sign. "I want a balloon."
Well duh, Bae.
"And...ummm..." he squinted his eyes. "I want something cool and something that MOVES." He chuckled a little and then looked back up at the man. "IF you were almost twelve, what kind of balloon would YOU get?" he asked quickly, eagerly, his tone excited. BALOOOOOOOOONS!
