Homework Overheard. 82 Narcissa swept imperiously along the corridor, arm in arm with Bellatrix. From behind a suit of armor came a familiar, feminine giggle, followed by a lower, male chuckle. Narcissa arched an eyebrow at Bella and the two of them crept forward to find Andromeda standing there, pink in the face and laughing with a rather scruffily dressed, fair haired Hufflepuff boy. Narcissa felt Bella stiffen and reach for her wand. She squeezed her sister’s arm, calming her and glared at Andromeda. “You need to be more careful Andromeda. People will start to think that you have no standards at all.” |
Theme # 98: Pyjamas Itsy-Bitsy Fights Narcissa was thirsty. Having tossed in bed for a while, the young girl decided she could do without water no longer and, throwing the blankets off herself, headed for the Slytherin common room. It was barely lit, and she could not see clearly, but as she picked the jug that stood on a table, it was clear she could be seen. Because someone at the end of the common room broke into laughter, and then tones she knew quite well said, between sniggers, "God, you have DUCKS on your pyjamas, Black!" She threw the jug at him. "Shut up, Malfoy." |
Graphic by Tailzinator @ Iconically Inclined The Black Side of Christmas 15. Room The Black sisters entered the sitting room in Grimmauld Place, where the beautifully decorated tree was sitting in the corner and six year old Sirius was playing with his present, a set of small moving figures: a lion, a badger, an eagle and a snake. He was urging the lion to kill the snake. Bellatrix strode across to him and made to hit him over the head. There was a bang and Bella was thrown across the room, away from Sirius. All eyes fell on Andromeda, who had her wand drawn. “Leave him alone Bella, he’s just a little boy.” |
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i9...e/drabble2.jpg Theme # 54: Dare 'Tis a Tangy Part of Nature "Huh?" Lucius raised an eyebrow as Narcissa kicked off. He had been sure when he had dared her, that she would refuse to even touch a broomstick - had doubted she would do it, even after she had swung one leg over the broom - but she was, clearly, much fierier than he had thought. "AAAAAHHHHHHH." He was jerked out of his reverie - only to see her crash, right into the ground. "You idiot," she snarled, as she staggered to her feet, a twig sticking out of her usually-perfect hair. "This is all your fault." "Tangy much, woman?" he grinned back. |
Introduction 9. Defence Against the Dark Arts Andromeda sat listening to the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, making notes. She liked this one, he really knew his stuff. She hoped that he would stay, unlike every other professor they had ever had. As the lesson ended, she gathered up her things ready to leave. Out in the corridor she felt a spell hit her. Before she knew it, she was heading towards the floor. She braced herself for the impact but it never came. The handsome Hufflepuff, who she had been sneaking glances at for weeks, had caught her. “Th-thank you Edward.” “Ted.” “Thank you Ted.” |
Theme # 01: Herbology Because Everything Has a Reason Why did she even need to take this subject? Hair pinned at the back of her head, Bellatrix pushed her goggles up her forehead, and stepped into a herbology greenhouse. "This is completely useless," she said, with a most regal shake of her head, as she sat down next to a dark-eyed, dark-haired, Slytherin friend. "I can learn this subject out of a textbook. Why do I need to come here?" "To learn how to avoid that," the friend replied, pointing to the vine that, unknown to Bellatrix, had managed to wrap itself around the Black's leg. |
Advanced Defensive Magick 38. Patronus Andromeda read the copy of Advanced Defensive Magick that she had managed to smuggle into the house. She was reading in the middle of the night, her eyes straining against the flickering candlelight. She read the same passage four times, making absolutely sure that she knew what she was doing. Putting the book down she concentrated, summoning all the strength she could find. Quietly and confidently, she said “Expecto Patronum!”. Silver vapour shot out of the end of her wand. Encouraged, she tried again. This time it was stronger, a shield. “One more try.” There it was. Her badger patronus. Thanks to Jack for picking the number. |
Theme # 02: Muggle Studies [Inherent] Differences Bellatrix was late for a class. She twisted her dark hair into a knot, as she turned a corner, but then she had let it go, and her eyes had widened in part-disbelief, part-anger. "Dromeda!" she thundered. Her sister, who was peeking rather curiously into a classroom, turned round. Narcissa was with her, and Andromeda's hand was placed on the blonde's shoulder. "What do you want?" she asked, looking directly into her older sister's eyes. "How dare you look into the Muggle Studies classroom?" Bellatrix raged. "And to think you have Cissy with you, too!" |
Banner by the lovely Jen Princess Bella 35. Sitting at the Slytherin house table, you can see her. Long dark hair, haughty expression, eye of cold ink. You see her sweeping imperiously through the corridors, causing other pupils to jump out of her way with a look and at times with a hex. You can see her in lessons, sneering at the professors as they instruct the class, and ignoring all mentions of defensive magic. You hear whispers about how she wants to continue her family traditions; her pride at being pureblood. “Who does she think she is?” You ask your friends. “Princess Black.” Is their sarcastic reply. |
What’s Love Got To Do With It? 63. Narcissa stood in the shadows and watched as that boy mooched around again. Her lip curled in disgust. He was scruffy, fat and a mud-blood for Merlin’s sake! He seemed nervous, scuffing the toes on his shoes against the ground as he paced up and down, chewing his nails and twirling his wand between his fingers. She watched as Andromeda stepped out of the common room and embraced him, kissing him enthusiastically. They stole into the night, breaking curfew and risking punishment. Narcissa could not understand why Andromeda bothered with him. Love was no reason to betray your family... Thanks to Jen for choosing the number |
Theme # 13: Quidditch Where Practice Fails UGH! She had tried, not once, not twice; but a lot more, but it was of no use - Quidditch refused, point-blank, to come to Andromeda Black. The fourth year tried again, right now, to swing one leg over a broomstick, and kick off, but failed spectacularly; and ended up, face down, on the ground. Spitting out dirt, she groaned, and made a face. "Give up already, Dro," someone called out, from the stands. Andromeda turned around angrily, one foot on the broomstick -- and saw that it was her favourite cousin. Sirius, to be exact. "Go away," she muttered, unhappily. |
Theme # 99: Newspaper Sweet, Little [Un]truths Narcissa Black stifled a yawn as she sat up, in bed; slipped her feet into her expensive slippers - expensive because they were topped with a snake-shaped emerald, each - and rose to her feet. There was a tap at the window -- throwing open the pane, she let the owl hovering outside in, and accepted her copy of this week's Witch Weekly. A satisfied smile curved her lips, when she saw the woman on the cover - it was, clearly, she herself; the words, "Narcissa Black: Beauty and Brains," printed at the bottom. With a smirk, she sat down to read. |
The Scary Smile 77. Bellatrix was not a cheerful sort of person. She did not hop and skip with joy. She did not smile, a sneer was her style. So when she walked around smiling as though someone had hit her with an ultra-strong cheering charm, people scurried away from her faster than they usually did. With a smile she sent curses at the crouched figure, who screamed out in agony. With a tinkling laugh she controlled those who were useful to her cause. With a gleeful cackle she felled those who stood in her path. Bellatrix smiling was more disturbing than Bellatrix sneering. Thanks to Alayna for choosing the number |
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i9...wallbanner.jpg Theme # 100: Homework She Doesn't Like this Writer, Either. The Fourth Wall Sister!Drabbles; Part I "Eh? Who is it?" Oh, it's you. It looks like you have not done your homework, dear reader. Why else would you dare to look into my life, that of Bellatrix Black? I am not Narcissa, who will welcome the attention; or Andromeda, who will not care. I am me, Bellatrix, and I will not allow a common muggle-born to look into my life. I am going to leave, now. It can not be clearer that you have no business, peeking into my life; and, whatever else I may put up with, I will not allow such absurdity. |
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i9...wallbanner.jpg Theme # 3: Transfiguration Teen Cissy: In Love. With Herself. The Fourth Wall Sister!Drabbles; Part II Hello there! I'm Narcissa Black, and of course you want to read about me. I am picture perfect, after all. Platinum hair; even, white teeth; brilliant skin; and, to top it all of, intelligence. I know there are those who claim I'm not smart; but, let me assure you, I actually had an E in my Transfiguration OWL. How much smarter, can one possibly get? I would tell you more, but too much awesome can overwhelm the senses. Do come back to read more about me, another time. I know you'll want to - I'm simply irresistible! |
You don’t know me. 86. “Steer clear of her.” “Why?” “She’s a Black.” There’s a look of comprehension. “Ohhh!” Andromeda swallowed and pretended she hadn’t heard. She stood up and walked out of the bar of the Leaky. “You shouldn’t listen to them.” Andromeda jumped and dropped her bag. “Sirius! You should be at...” “Home? I sort of... ran away.” Andromeda blinked, her mouth slightly agape. “Seriously?” He arched an eyebrow and she chuckled. “Of course... of course.” She wondered what his crime had been this time; daring to question his parents probably. “I’m at the Potter’s. Take care.” He kissed her and was gone. Thanks to Freya for choosing the number/sister |
Crookshanks' Mother. 22. Bellatrix yelped with pain. She cast stunning spells wildly, hitting walls, a vase, a bust of her great Uncle causing his nose to explode. “Come here you... ” The Kneazle was too clever for her, lithely jumping out of her arms and avoiding her stunners, onto the windowsill and escaping down the trunk of the tree outside. Bellatrix tore out into the garden and continued to hurl a bolts of red light at the creature, missing and as its grey tail disappeared from view, she screamed in frustration, red ribbons of blood running down her arm from where she her scratches. Thanks to Freya for choosing the number. |
Always a pleasure... 76. “Oh please! One good zap and he’ll go down like a sack of spuds! Gimme challenge!” Narcissa pointed to another target. “Alright then.” She watched her young suitor tap the older man on the shoulder and murmur something to him. The older man seemed to appraise him, walking around him in a circle, but it was not until he glanced up and saw Narcissa that he nodded and stepped onto the raised dueling platform. The duel was short and when he walked towards the young woman, the victor was wearing an unfamiliar, charming smile. “Lucius Malfoy, pleasure to meet you.” Thanks to Jack for choosing the number. |
Theme # 58: Hoot The Meaning of Infatuation Narcissa Black had not known the meaning of infatuation until she had first seen him. He had looks, of course he did, but then Sirius Black had them too, and she had never fallen for him. * "Narcissa." She paused and turned around, although she did not need to, not to know the identity of the person that had spoken her name. Hands clasped in silence, doe-like eyes quiet in the night, she raised her chin. "Lucius," she said softly. An owl hooted in the far distance, and Lucius Malfoy placed a hand on her cheek as he kissed her. |
Theme # 18: Whomping Willow Re-defining Confidence Full of angry mutters, Bellatrix Black found the grounds and, not at all concerned that it happened to one in the morning and she could get into serious trouble for this, sat down on a patch of grass. She could see the giant tree that adorned [adorned?] the grounds from here, its branches dimly outlined in the dark. She had had a huge desire, all day, to kick something [and hard], and she wondered if she could get possibly kick the tree. Two minutes of thought later, she decided against the idea. The tree could be no match for her. |
Theme # 4: Ancient Runes An Acceptable is Acceptable! Dromeda had been hopeless at Runes since the day she had first entered the Runes classroom. The reason she stuck to it? Pride. The stubborn, Black kind of pride that told her she couldn't give up, that she had to pass. So she put double the amount of days and nights into her Runic study than she did in any other subject's, sitting up till late at night, preparing for the OWL she dreaded most. Did she manage to pass? Why yes, she did. She got an 'A' in the OWL, and Dromeda could not have been happier. |
