#13 Quidditch

The Marauders surveyed their schedule for individual use of the invisibility cloak with satisfaction. After all, they didn’t all want to go to the same places all the time. In fairness, some personal time with the cloak made sense.

“So where are we all going?” Sirius asked.

“The library,” replied Remus thoughtfully.

“The kitchen,” said Peter hungrily.

“Slytherin Quidditch practice,” said James (though he really meant to follow Lily).

“Pffffttt… You’re all boring,” Sirius scoffed.

“Oh yeah? If you’re so clever, where are you going?” James raised a brow at his friend.

“The girl’s locker rooms of course,” Sirius grinned.

#18 Whomping Willow

The four friends set out for the Whomping Willow in the twilight. None spoke, but there was anticipation in the air. Remus, as usual, took a moment to try to discourage his friends.

“I couldn’t live with myself in you all get in trouble, or worse - hurt!” he said with worry, “this is too dangerous.”

“We live for the danger!” Sirius scoffed, brushing off his friend’s worry.

Peter nodded in agreement, though he looked up to Sirius as though hoping for protection.

As the other two walked ahead, James whispered to Remus, “it’s not dangerous, it’s what friends do.”

74. x-tinguish

Remus looked over his friend’s homework as usual. There wasn’t too much to correct in Sirius and James’ work, but Peter’s was a mess. He tried to discretely point out some of the greater flaws to the boy, but watchful as ever, Sirius caught sight of the parchment.

“You git!” he laughed at the blushing Peter, “that’s not how you spell extinguish!”

“It’s not?” Peter asked meekly.

Remus sighed and pointed out the misspelled word: ‘x-tinguish’ and corrected it. “See it’s spelled like this,” he said.

“Don’t worry about it,” Sirius joked, “at least it’s better then your last one.”

Twin's choice. This made me sit and think about Patronus' for a long time. Most of which does not appear in this drabble. hehe Oh well.

38. Patronus

The Marauders sat in the Gryffindor common room practicing the Patronus charm, as none of them had been able to conjure a fully corporeal one yet.

“I wonder if I could get mine to attack Snivellus,” Sirius mused aloud.

“Not unless he’s a dementor or a lethifold,” Remus replied concentrating on his. “Besides, that’s not a very positive thought.”

“To me it is – “Sirius was interrupted as a solid looking shape bounded past him out of James’ wand. “Good one!” he complimented his friend. “That must have been one hell of a good thought.”

“You have no idea,” James smiled.

3. Transfiguration

The Marauders settled into their seats for Transfiguration class.

“Don’t worry,” Sirius was telling James and Peter, “she loves me,” he said confidently.

“Maybe you just should’ve done the work,” Remus suggested.

“We had extenuating circumstances,” Sirius raised his eyebrows significantly.

“Really?” Remus said wryly, “somehow I finished the assignment!”

“You should really use these times more to your advantage, you know, you could get away with so much,” Sirius noted.

Remus was interrupted by the approach of Professor McGonagall, “is that so Mr. Black? Perhaps two rolls of parchment would be appropriate when you turn in the assignment tomorrow.”
