Alice giggled. It was him again, she knew it. She felt her hair being tugged again, she still watched Professor Binns, not letting Frank get to her.
“And in ancient times, the old Egyptian wizards…”*tug tug* History of magic was so boring…. *tug tug* Alice rolled her eyes at Lily across the isle. *tug tug*
Alice gave in; she turned. Frank was holding out a daisy. Alice’s heart skipped a beat. She took the flower and weaved it into her long braided hair. Frank beamed.
*tug tug*
Alice turned again,
“What now?”
“I just wanted to see your face again.” |

“Umm, err, nothing…”
Alice looked at Frank suspiciously.
“Fraaaaaaaaaank?”
Frank guiltily hid his chocolate bar behind his back,
“What?”
Alice stared right through him. She got an idea.
“Alright then! Kiss me.” Frank gulped,
“Ki-kiss you?” Alice smirked,
“Yes, unless of course you don’t want to…”
Alice pretended to walk away in devastation. Frank’s stomache dropped in horror.
“Wait!” Alice grinned, her back turned.
“What *sniff*”
“I’ll kiss you…”
Frank came up behind her, and kissed her. Alice stole the chocolate bar in his back pocket.
“Mieeeen!”

James nodded,
“Agreed?”
Alice and Lily looked at each other,
“Agreed.” They said together. The apparition alarm rang.
“Oh my!” Alice exclaimed,
“That’s the guests!”
She and Lily made to get out of their chairs, but their pregnant bellies made them wobble, grasp the arms of the sofa, and finally fall back into the cushions again.
Alice roared,
“Oh, Lily! Why do we ever sit on the couch?! We can NEVER get out of it!” | |

Alice was strolling along the side of the lake. She sat down and happily watched the Giant Squid as it disentangled some seaweed from its tentacles.
“Mind if I sit?”
Frank’s voice came from behind her. Alice was too relaxed to speak, but she patted the ground beside her. Frank sat.
“You know… I have been thinking of you so much lately… Um, you are such a nice girl. You are smart and pretty…”
Alice looked up at Frank in surprise and her heart skipped a beat. Frank continued, playing with his wand nervously.
“Would you be my girlfriend? …Please?”

Frank watched in amusement, for a moment as Alice and Lily jumped up and down in the quidditch stands. Then he snapped back, and continued his commentary,
“Alrrrrright! The score is twenty – ten, Gryffindor in the lead! But Slytherin could catch up, so let’s keep this going! Aaaaand, Lucius Malfoy with the quaffle, Malfoy, speeding toward goal… Ahah! James Potter! Potter takes the quaffle!”
Lily and Alice screamed encouragement and James blew a kiss their way, the quaffle tucked under his arm.

Alice sat doodling at her desk, chin on fist, in charms. She wasn’t hearing Professor Flitwick as he lectured them on non-verbal charms. She was too busy thinking about Frank. She was thinking about the hours that she had spent with him, simply talking and laughing. Alice had never thought that she would think of only one boy at one time. She had always thought that she would have several boys clamoring after her, as indeed it had been for about six years here at school. However, frank’s kindness and keenness had her hook-line-and-sinker. | |

“Something tells me that that would be a “no”…” The potion was congealing into a brown mass of cement-y substance. Alice shook her head,
“We really need to lay off the kissing in class…” Frank tapped Lily Evans on the shoulder,
“Lils? What do we do?” Lily was in a foul mood; Professor Slughorn had paired her up with James Potter…
“Just add some armadillo bile! Stir it three-and-a-half times- No! James don’t touch that!” | |

“Fabian Prewett currently holds the title, can Alice beat him out?” Frank felt Sirius lean foreword in expectation next to him, and saw Remus just roll his eyes. What a party pooper…
“And I think that they are ready to start the final round, good luck to both contestants… Fabian, you are up first.”
Fabian Prewett opened his mouth. He let out a spectacular yodel, as always. Then it was Alice’s turn. She stepped foreword and cleared her throat confidently. Her yodel was astonishing. The clear winner. | |

“What are we doing out here anyway?”
Frank distractedly took off his cloak and draped it around Alice’s shoulders, then went back to staring into the forest.
“I need to see if you can see something…” He moved slightly to the left and sighed. Alice drew the cloak closer to her shivering body and waited. For fifteen minutes they stood there, at he edge of the forest, looking for something that only one of them would be able to see.
“Frank? What are we trying to see?”
“Thestrals…” Frank walked foreword. | |

“What is it now?”
Alice Longbottom’s eyes filled with tears.
“You don’t have to yell at me! I-I j-just wanted some s-socks… I’m sorry for bothering you... I’m a bad wife!”
Alice buried her face in her hands and sobbed. Frank sighed and sat down next to her on the bed. He patted her pregnant belly fondly and tried to comfort his moody wife,
“Alli, Hon, you are a great wife! And, I would be happy to get you some socks, really!” Frank stood and walked to the dresser drawer, returning with a pair of thick, fuzzy socks.
