98. Pajamas Adi came in quiet not sure what to expect when he entered the house. It was late, having gotten stuck in travel on his way home after an away match. Even still the scene before him in the living room brought him to a stop. His two boys were on the couch asleep in their pajamas, the smaller one curled into his father who held him close even in unconsciousness. His smile matched their expressions of contentment as they slept. Finally moving again, he leaned close and kissed Benny’s forehead as he lightly brushed his son’s cheek. “This is home…” |
35. Pureblood Benny had never cared for the topic of blood status. It surely hadn’t stopped him from dating a muggleborn witch and Adi was no different. However he hated it even more when it caused such drama between two best friends and it wasn’t even the two of them. If ever there was a set of close friends that could be more, it was Ilia and Henric. But like Angel and AJ, the younger badger’s family weren’t the wizarding kind. Not that it ever should matter in relationships of true feelings. Now they just had to get through Henric’s thick head. |
66. Pace http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/...ion/mini27.jpg “At ease, Benny,” Adi remarked from his seat on the waiting room couch as he watched his husband. “You’re going to dig a hole in the floor.” Benny stopped and turned to his other half, Rajesh thankfully with his grandparents. “How can you be so calm?” Adi chuckled. “Easy…you know me. How often do I stop being happy-go-lucky? Plus its not me in there.” Benny snorted but had to agree. “Messers Atreyu…Rehman.” Both men turned to the healer who had come out of the room, her face smiling once she had their attention. “Congratulations…you have two beautiful, healthy baby girls.” |
17. Cauldron The bell jingled on the door, marking their entrance to his least favorite shop in Diagon Alley. Probably why they had waited for this visit until the end of the summer. “I don’t get why we need another cauldron…just because it’s a different metal.” He had nearly groaned when he saw it on their supply list. “Because certain potions react differently to different cauldrons,” Adi explained for the second time since the topic came up a few weeks before. “And you don’t need your potions reacting badly because it’s the wrong cauldron,” he remarked with a chuckle. “Merlin help me.” |
1. Herbology So his parents’ backyard was charmed and seemingly all set for its newest inhabitants. Hopefully no one would take much notice of anything out of the ordinary and his mum had promised to look after them while they were away. “Why does it feel like we’re dropping off kids to be babysat?” Adi asked as they left them. “Because that’s what it seems like,” Benny agreed with a chuckle. “Just think…your parents have their first grandchildren,” Adi teased. “To be returned to our care once we’ve graduated." After all…how many Edinburgh apartments had not one but two gravity resistant trees? |
23. Telescope “I think it needs to go a little bit more to the right,” Adi instructed, comparing what they were seeing in the eyepiece versus their star map spread out before them. Benny was currently at the base of the large instrument to move it around better. “You sure?” Benny questioned looking over at the chart himself. “You don’t trust me?” the badger teased, chuckling when he gained a groan from his best friend. The Gryffindor turned to the guidance tools, doing as he was asked. “There….how’s that?” Adi checked the viewer again, smiling at the sight he was seeing. “PERFECT!” |
7. Care of Magical Creatures He hated this. It was bad enough not to be working with Adi in their other classes. Potions had been especially trying. But here…with Thompson….taking care of baby griffins? Torture. That’s what it was. And Benny couldn’t even be happy in his favorite subject, Something Adi apparently had no trouble with as the Gryffindor watched him. Over there…across the paddock…having all the fun in the world. His chest was suddenly nudged and he dropped his attention back down to his own charge. The sad boy reaching a hand to scratch the griffin on it’s feathered head. “Yeah Hiccup…it’s just us.” |
78. Author's choice – Confession The Christmas festivities had died down and the castle’s inhabitants broke up to round out the holiday. They had wound up at the Room of Requirement, their hang-out especially when it was cold. It was fine for a while, but eventually Benny couldn’t help the awkward feeling inside. Adi was quick to notice, prodding for what was on his mind. “What would you say…if I said I started to have feelings for someone?” “I’d say Hooray! And ask you who it was.” The Gryffindor couldn’t look at Adi directly, swallowing as he struggled for the one word he needed. “…You.” |
92. Chocolate Benny knew he owed Adi big. Bigger than big. Not only for being a stubborn pain that caused so much drama between them for months…but for missing his birthday. His SEVENTEENTH birthday. The one where he was legal in both worlds and certainly a big deal. So at the next Hogsmeade weekend, the Gryffindor managed to slip away, spending time in the candy store. The result was a large gift wrapped box which he presented to Adi the next day at lunch. “Happy Belated Birthday…” Benny said with a weak nervous smile. “Just don’t eat it all in one day.” |
62. Amortentia http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps0db9476f.jpg Spiraling smoke. That meant it was done, a fact proven by a smell wafting from his cauldron. Adi leaned forward for a better smell, getting a whiff of something sweet and something not quite sweet but more like it was sour. Lemony? Lemony and cookies? And then there was a more…natural smell. Like what someone would deal with in the greenhouses. Or better yet…the stables. “So I’ve got lemon, chocolate chip cookies…and creatures,” he mused aloud as he proceeded to spoon out a vial. “Better than chocolate and dragon dung,” Benny remarked from beside him. Cue knowing laugh between them. |
43. Headmaster A punch A mistake. Adi had let himself get out of control, yelling at Henric over all he had done concerning Ilia. Then he had gone and done it, punching the younger housemate and getting them all in trouble. He regretted it the moment it was done, especially as the groundskeeper was directing them all to the headmaster’s office. Some prefect he was…hurting one of his own. Some example he was…using actions instead of words to solve problems. And the person that meant the world to him was clearly distressed beside him. A touch. A finger. Things would be alright. |
19. Wand “Here…” Adi offered, holding his hand out to his friend. “I can’t take yours,” Benny protested with a shake of his head. “It’s my fault and I have to deal with the consequences.” “Don’t be stupid. You can borrow mine,” the badger remarked, “You can’t not have one during classes. Well most of them.” “But I can’t take yours because you will need it for class.” “Not every second of every class. We can SHARE it.” The two best friends were at a standstill, staring each other down with determination and hesitance respectively. “Fine…” Benny finally gave in. “Thanks.” |
54. Dare “I dare you.” “It’s a lemon,” Adi remarked, eying the yellow shape in his best friend’s hand. “So what if it’s a lemon,” Benny defended, “It’s also a fruit.” “Always the logical one,” the badger said with a shake of his head. “It’s sour.” “There are other things to eat than sugar and chocolate.” “Very funny, Benny,” Adi said with a weak chuckle as he finally took the lemon uncertainly. “I dare you,” the lion repeated, eyeing his best friend. He was lucky those were the magic words. Otherwise there was no way his teeth would have sunk into it. |
72. Vex Everything was not going to be alright. Adi had detention. With Headmaster Botros. For three afternoons in a row doing and being subjected to Merlin knows what. Benny didn’t like it at all, the Gryffindor was completely bothered by the fact of having to sit about wondering what was happening with his boyfriend during his detentions. And with Henric. Granted he had gotten over his jealousy of the younger badger…for the most part. But who knew what was going to happen when made to realize that fighting wasn’t an option. “Ugg…..” Why did relationships have to be so darn hard? |
74. x-tinguish http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps60ee6830.jpg “Come on, Benny….light us a nice fire,” Adi instructed his dragon buddy. His companion was currently crouched beside a pile of twigs and branches, his tail waving. It didn’t matter he was currently a creature known for breathing fire, he sometimes had trouble actually doing it. Except when it finally did happen, it sometimes got just a bit out of control. The surprising squirt of water in his face was proof this time around even before realizing what happened. “Just a little too much there,” the badger remarked with a laugh at the drenched scaly face of his best friend. |
45. Licorice Wand “Cantis!” Adi cast with a firm voice, taking aim at his best friend. “Um…what are you doing?” His lion companion looked oddly at his friend over their homework. “Trying to make you sing, Benny,” Adi remarked, lowering his wand with a pout when it didn’t work. “Why didn’t you sing? It should have worked.” “Okay…you’re cut off. I think the sugar has finally gone to your head,” Benny remarked with a chuckle and a shake of his head bemused. “Why?” the badger asked with a tilt of his head, confused. “Because you just tried to cast with a licorice wand.” |
56. Fight http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/a...rs/witness.jpg Now this was something I couldn’t believe I was seeing. Benjamin Atreyu and Aditya Rehman…fighting. Not physically but clearly something was wrong with the two best friends. I wasn’t going to just stand by and let it continue. These boys clearly needed help so I was going to step in. Otherwise who knows what was going to happen. Yep…that was a forceful nudge. Things risked getting physical between them. “Misters Rehman…Atreyu….could you help me clean up.” It was a request, but I wasn’t taking no for an answer. I, Nessa Glendower was going to get to the bottom of this. |
9. Defense Against the Dark Arts It didn’t matter that he had somehow managed to squeak into the second place spot of the older duelists. It didn’t matter that he had been studying long and hard with Adi to do this exam For this practical he was completely on his own…just him and his own magic. And anything and everything was thrown at him until he finally managed to escape and be dismissed from the examination area. His shaky, injured self was greeted by his equally ruffled boyfriend who wrapped his arm around him to assist his balance. “Hey…looks like we made it.” They had survived. |
94. Allergic “Achoo….” “Bless you.” “Thank you.” A simple process…except when it was on the verge of being repeated for the fifth time while they baked together. And light, messy stuff like flour and sugar were being used, each currently spread over the counter with each sneeze despite Adi’s covering his face. “Someone might be catching a cold…” Benny remarked, glancing over at his companion. “Nuh uh….I’m fine,” Adi defended cause an eyebrow from his boyfriend. “Well its either that or you're allergic to something here.” Benny mused looking around. “And if you are, that means no cookies….or me.” “Cold it is.” |
11. History of Magic Benny really didn’t want to be doing this. Sure the girls were totally into it…AJ outright loving it to death. But what boy wanted to be dressed up as a unicorn and all glittery before the whole class? Yet there he was, with white-colored hair to represent a mane, a white scarf for a tail and a fake glitter-covered horn upon his forehead while Adi and Angel spoke on their new house. Each trying to draw more and more attention to him. He was their mascot…in all his awkwardness. Thank Merlin Adi hadn’t made him sing like he practically begged. |
60. Joke “Pecan-crossed lamp viol-“ Again the test to see if he was back to normal failed and Benny was getting more frustrated. Adi in turn was feeling worse and worse about the potion he had slipped his best friend. It wasn’t funny anymore, not with the sadness written clearly across the lion’s face. “It’s going to be okay, Benny,” he tried to assure him as they sat together in a seventh floor alcove. Benny just sighed and leaned his head lightly against the other boy, Adi half-tempted to wrap an arm around the dragon. It had only been a friendly prank. |
37. Animangus Why had they agreed to meet here after class and not in a building? The sun was starting to set at the onset of dusk. It was getting dark and his boyfriend was still nowhere in sight. “Ah-WOOO” He whipped his head around, the baying setting his hair on end for some reason. Maybe the fact that it seemed out of place in a city as well as one-hundred percent natural. And then there it was, just staring at him and he involuntarily stepped backwards. It wasn’t until the coyote sat and casually panted that Benny found himself relaxing. “Adi…?” |
44. Ford Anglia “Maybe this wasn’t a good idea….” The car jerked again as Benny braked suddenly once more and brought them to a stop. This really was harder than it looked. “Nah…it doesn’t hurt to know,” Adi assured him from the passenger seat. “You’re doing fine…you just need to relax.” “Relax….right...” the former Gryffindor mused as he took a deep breath before tentatively taking his foot off the brake to exchange for the gas. The car began moving again and went for a bit alright, until it started speeding up due to his pressure which freaked him out. “Adi…?!” “Just lighten up.” |
68. Roar “Wonder if we can count this as a field trip for class,” Adi mused as they strolled casually through the zoo. Benny shrugged as they stopped by the next enclosure. “I don’t know, though it’s nice to be around creatures and NOT studying them.” The badger nodded in agreement, his back to the next exhibit. “True ther-“ ROAR!!!! Adi jumped in surprise, having not noticed the lions were coming up. Benny in turn chuckled at his friend’s reaction to the sound. “Shouldn’t you be used to being around lions?” |
86. Daring “And why am I doing this again?” Benny asked rhetorically as he stepped out of their apartment building with a yawn. “I think it started with me saying you couldn’t miss any of your beauty sleep,” Adi remarked with a smirk as he turned in front of him jogging in place to insure the boyfriend wasn’t backing down. “Followed by your protesting and my teasing,” he explained as he took off slow. “And alas you’re here joining me on my morning run.” “It’s too early,” the dragon mused as he followed along reluctantly. “You could always go back to sleep…Princess.” |
