The snow, the wind, all of it She just walked, brushing tears out of her eyes. When she got as far away from the Three Broomsticks as possible, she sat down on a rock near the Shrieking Shack, sobbing openly.
James emerged from under his cloak, looking concerned. “Lily, is everything all right?”
Lily looked up at him, and her anger managed to show through her tears. “I don’t want to talk to you, Potter,” she spat. Honestly, her Hogsmeade weekend was already ruined with her breakup. Did he have to make it worse? | |

Still Sleeping
James awoke to find Lily still fast asleep beside him. He supposed he should go wake little Harry, but Lily looked so beautiful he just couldn’t stop staring at her. Her eyes closed, her long black lashes fluttered slightly as she rolled over to her back. Her red hair was splayed out on the pillow above her, she faced the ceiling.
And her pajamas… he had bought them for her, the pink and yellow striped pastel pajamas he had given her for Easter a year ago.
“Still sleeping?” he murmured, and she simply pulled the covers up over her head.

Not Funny
Snape hung upside down in midair, struggling to hold his robes up and keep from exposing his bottle-green boxers. James, Remus, Sirius, and Peter stood to the side, doubled over with laughter at this hilarious sight. Lily approached them, eyes flashing. “Not funny, Potter.”
James’ eyes and attention suddenly turned from Snape to Lily. He immediately felt ashamed of himself, even though it had been Snivelly who started the fight! “Aw, c’mon Lily!” he said, sniggering. “Just look at him. What a joke.” Nevertheless, he thought the countercharm and let Snivelly down. Just ‘cause he was bored. Not for Lily.

You Wish
Checking her makeup in the mirror, Lily added one more little sweep of mascara and a bit more blush before giving her reflection a satisfied nod and walking out of the Girls’ Dormitory bathroom. Time for the Yule Ball! She smoothed out her dress robes, cream-colored silk that felt so soft against her skin, accentuating her natural beauty. As she walked confidently down to the Common Room, she was ambushed by James, who linked arms with her. “Aww, you got all dressed up and fancy just for me!”
Trying to keep from laughing, Lily responded with a grin. “You wish!”

Dodge-sock-ball
“James Potter, I won’t speak to you again until you fold this laundry!” Grumbling about how he was the man of the house shouldn’t do laundry, James trudged up the stairs and grabbed two socks. He rolled them in a ball, annoyed, and threw them at Lily
She looked up, startled, as she was hit by a flying ball of socks. Laughing at her bewilderment, James chose that moment to throw another sock at her. Of course, Lily would take her chance, and threw some socks at his head. He ducked to avoid them. So, now were they playing dodge-sock-ball?

Babysitting
“Stop that this instant! Merlin, Potter, it’s like I’m constantly babysitting you.” Lily was fed up with Potter’s stupid pranks and such. At the moment, he and Black were trying to coerce Peeves into unscrewing all the chandeliers in the school.
“Jeez, Lily, we were just having some fun!” said Potter. Lily was going to kill him later. Just having some fun? He could have caused some serious injuries!
“Well, I’ll just leave you two here to mooch around then.” Her voice dripped with sarcasm. “And if anything- ANYTHING weird happens, it’s your fault and I’ll take points from Gryffindor.”

Up Against Fate
James’ eyes were glazed over as he stared at Lily, not listening at all to what the Divination professor said. “Potter. Potter. POTTER!” He snapped out of it just in time to hear her.
“Hmm? What?” he mumbled, confused. Sirius leaned over and whispered,
“Mate, she’s been yelling your name for five minutes. You’re supposed to give her proof the fact you were born in March makes you constantly fighting against fate.” That was an easy one for James, he was always against fate.
“The girl I love hates me.” He shot another quick glance at Lily, who was blushing.

James sat on a bench, face buried in the Daily Prophet as Lily passed by. Other first years ran away from the girl who was It, but he was hiding instead of running. He’d never understood the game tag, and preferred to spend his time gazing at the red-haired, green-eyed girl that occupied his dreams.
She seemed not to notice him. ‘I can’t believe that worked,’ he thought, at least until she ran and touched his arm. “TAG! You’re it!” she yelled. James dropped his newspaper, stomped on a photograph, and walked away as if he wasn’t thinking about her.

Lily paced back and forth through the girls’ dormitory. It was late, past midnight, and everyone else was asleep.

Two Kisses and a Choice
James was being creepy again, sitting and watching Lily while she chatted with Snape. Snape- ugh.
Lily was talking, just talking, with Sev, when he did it. There was an awkward pause, and then he leaned in and- and kissed her! She was so surprised, she did nothing, but she didn’t have to wait long for something to happen.
“Nooo!” James came barreling in, knocking both Lily and Snape over as he rushed between them. Helping Lily up from the ground, he kissed her fiercely. She was surprised, again, but this time she made a choice.
She kissed him back.

Thanks Ariana #94 Allergic Flowers James rang the doorbell- odd things, doorbells; muggles really were weird- and waited for an answer. Mrs. Evans answered it, and he made sure to be extremely polite.
He was ushered into the house and then to the hall, where Lily was lounging on the couch, reading a book. “Happy Seventeenth!” he said, conjuring a bouquet of flowers.
Lily looked surprised but delighted, and took the flowers, grinning and blushing a bit. “I- achoo- thanks a lot- achoo,- but I think- achoo, achoo, I’b allergic.” Her voice sounded congested and James mentally smacked himself.
Allergic? He was such an idiot.
