Caitlin's 50 Misunderstood Ficlets for Draco Malfoy - Sa13+ |
#18 (Incarcerous) – “Refusal” “Draco, if you don’t come with me now, don’t ever consider me your father again!” Lucius Malfoy shouted at the retreating back of his son. Hearing this, Draco whipped around, fury etched on his face. “Incarcerous!” Draco shouted quickly, pointing his wand at his father. Once the ropes had tightly bound Lucius, Draco lowered his wand and sauntered up to him. “Is that what you think you are to me, a father?” Draco scoffed. “You haven’t been a father to me since I was born! All you’ve been concerned about is me upholding the Malfoy name, never bringing shame upon the family. If having a hideous skull and snake branded on my arm is considered honorable, than I’m embarrassed to have been born your son! I will never follow in your footsteps, father, because your footsteps have lead you down a dangerous path with a dead-end! Rest assured, I will make something of myself, with or without your influence or money. I just hope Voldemort doesn’t kill you before you get to see it!” Draco turned on his heel and marched to his bedroom so he could gather his things and prepare to leave Malfoy Manor and his family forever. |
#9 (Disapparate) – “Unwelcome Encounter” Three years had passed since Draco had gotten his Apparaition license, but he had never understood the value of being able to disapparate. Until a few nights ago. It had started out like every other night for the past year. Draco had spent an hour sitting silently at the bar of the seedy pub, Witch’s Haven, downing a total of four firewhiskeys, when a unfamiliar figure entered the bar. Curiosity piqued, Draco watched the cloaked figure saunter to a dim, secluded booth in the back. Once the cloak was removed long, luxurious blonde hair draped in front of the face. Draco noticed how delicate the person’s fingers were, and knew immediately that he had to meet this enchanting girl. A waiter approached the lady’s booth, and the girl quickly spoke and waved the waiter away. Draco was about to leave his barstool when the same waiter came to him with a drink and a note. Draco unfolded the piece of parchment and read the scroll: Miss me, Draco? ~Pansy Draco looked up from the note and found himself making eye-contact with Pansy Parkinson. She coyly waved, and Draco, still standing, disapparated, vowing to never grace the Witch’s Haven doorstep again. |
#22 (Legilimens) – “Wonderful But Painful Truth” It took all of Draco’s willpower to stay awake during Arithmancy. N.E.W.T.’s were only a few weeks away, and he was anxious to get out of Hogwarts and start a new life for himself, one free from his father and the destiny he had chosen for him. A noise aroused Draco from his thoughts, and he glanced up to find a girl with chestnut curls bending over to retrieve her quill. Hermione Granger. She’d been in Draco’s heart since their fourth year. If she only knew. He’d always wondered if the feeling were mutual, but he was certain that knowing the truth might create more troubles for him than he already had. Over and over, he’d told himself that a relationship with the Gryffindor Princess would never work, that society would keep them apart. No, he knew that a relationship with Hermione would only lead to pain – for both of them. Still, Draco’s ego unconsciously lead him to utter the next spell. “Legilimens.” Draco was shocked when he heard himself say it, but even more shocked at what he found in Hermione’s head. “After four years, you haven’t revealed your love to Draco. You’re such a chicken, Hermione.” Bloody hell. |
