Avada Kedavra

“You know, this isn’t so bad...” Jamie whispered as he and Alicia danced on the floor space available.

“Are you talking about my dancing or the music?” She laughed, swaying to her favourite.

“Both” He said, teasing. “What is this song anyway?”

“Airplanes by B.O.B and Hayley Williams... My favourite song...” She said, smiling up at him. “Why?”

“I like it...” He said causally, leading her away from the others. Alicia smiled at her family as they passed them.

“So, what do you think of a Muggle party?” Alicia asked as they sat in the shade of the house.

“It’s pretty much the same, really, isn’t it?” Jamie said, watching the guests laughing and joking in the garden. “Oh, I forgot to say- you look wonderful” She laughed and he frowned slightly. “What?”

“You did say that... When I opened the door to let you in” She said, glancing up at him. “You asked if I’d cast Avada Kedavra ‘cause you must have died and gone to heaven...” She tried to stifle her laughter as he smiled at her.

“Oh yeah... I’m still not sure, you know” He said before kissing her.

Braking Charm

The owls appeared over the four house tables and Jamie looked up. A flash of white amidst the grey and brown caught his eye.

“America’s here” He said, glancing over at Alicia, who was sitting opposite Harry.

“Really?” She looked up too. She watched as the snowy owl flew lower and lower

“Told you” Jamie said, returning to his toast. Alicia took the letter off the owl and then read through it quickly. “Well?”

“Did you order a broom under my name?” She asked, looking up.

“No” Jamie said, taking the letter out of her hand. “A Firebolt?” He said, looking up.

“Exactly! I don’t even fly while I’m here- so why would I order a broom?” She asked, frowning at the letter. “Streamlined, superfine handle of ash, treated with a diamond-hard polish... Hand-numbered with its own registration number... Tail twigs of birch, individually selected and honed to aerodynamic perfection... An unbreakable Breaking Charm... Unsurpassable balance... Pinpoint precision... Acceleration of 150 mph in 10 seconds... When you pick it up then let go, it hovers at exactly the right height to mount... Turns with the lightest touch... Superbly smooth action... I think I’ll keep it” She said and Jamie grinned.

Blasting Curse

Alicia ran through the trees as Jamie chased after her. The sound of people following them on the wind.

“Why did we come here? We knew they were all over the castle!” Jamie shouted at Alicia’s back as they ran over the tree roots that threatened to trip them in their hast to escape.

“Come on!” She yelled as she looked back. Jamie was right behind her as several dark figures came into view.

“Keep going, Alicia!” Jamie answered as she slowed slightly. She glanced at him and sped up again. The Death Eaters continued to hunt them as they ran through the forest. A flash of blue light flew over Jamie’s shoulder.

“JAMIE!” Alicia screamed as more curses flew towards them and he fell behind. She stopped and turned to find him pointing his wand into the darkness. A figure loomed towards him, their wand pointed into Jamie’s face. “JAMIE!” Alicia screamed again, but it was for no reason. Jamie shot a Blasting Curse at the closest tree and it exploded, sending the Death Eater sideways.

“I SAID KEEP GOING!” Jamie yelled, grabbing Alicia’s hand as he passed her, making her start to run again.

Colloportus

Alicia ran to the nearest door, frantic, as Harry sealed it shut.

“Where’s Jamie?” She said, tugging on his arm. “Have you seen him? Why are you sealing the doors- we need to find the others!”

“I don’t know, Alicia- I’m sure they’re fine!” He said, stepping away from her.

“ALICIA!” She spun round and looked at another door. There was a bang as the door flew open and Jamie, Ron, Luna and Ginny spilled into the room. Alicia ran over to them.

“JAMIE!” She cried in relief, throwing her arms round his neck. Jamie turned round and pointed his wand at the door.

“Colloportus” There was a squelching sound as the door became resealed. “It’s okay!” He said quickly, hugging her tightly.

“I thought I’d lost you- I thought the Death Eaters had you!” She said, her voice breaking in two places as she spoke. There was a bang, that made them separate and they turned to see Luna being thrown across the room.

“Speaking of Death Eaters...” Jamie said, forcing Alicia onto the floor as they ducked under a curse.

Crucio

“RUN!” Jamie yelled as several Death Eaters appeared in the doorway. The group split, some heading towards the castle while others towards the forest. Alicia and Jamie dived for the cover of the trees and began weaving through the thick trunks as the Death Eaters followed them. Alicia saw the shadow out the corner of her eye too late. The Death Eater jumped on her as another took Jamie down.

“GET OFF!” She yelled, fighting against her captor. The man laughed and continued to drag her across the ground, scratching her arms.

“ALICIA!” Jamie yelled as he too was dragged across the leaf strewn floor. “LET US GO!”

“Can’t do that...” His captor said in a voice filled with laughter, watching as Alicia struggled to get free. They were pulled to a building outside the school grounds.

A light flickered on above their heads, making them wince. Alicia looked sideways to find Jamie tied to the chair next to her.

“Jamie, you all right?” She whispered as someone moved behind them. He nodded, his eyes on something behind her.

“Crucio” A female voice said quietly and Alicia began to scream as knives pierced her arms, legs, body, face, everywhere.

Confundus

“You didn’t!” Jamie laughed as he climbed through the portrait hole. Alicia was grinning as she followed him.

“Course I did! Ron is much more better for the team that McLaggen” She said, dropping into an empty chair. Jamie sat next to her, still laughing.

“But even you have to admit that McLaggen was the better player” He said and Alicia shrugged.

“I’d rather watch Ron play than Cormac McLaggen” She said, waving a hand airily. Jamie rolled his eyes.

“So you thought that you’d use the Confundus Jinx on him so that he’d miss the last shot?” Jamie asked and Alicia grinned at him again.

“Naturally” She said and Jamie started laughing again. “But don’t tell Ron what I did”

Diffindo

“I am Dolores Jane Umbridge- Senior Undersecretary to the Minister of Magic! Put me down!” Harry waved at the woman as the Centaurs carried her away. Jamie and Alicia dropped onto their knees next to the tied up Centaur that was still fighting the ropes wrapped round him.

“Hold still, Magorian” Alicia said, pulling at them. They didn’t loosen.

“Here, let me try” Jamie said, pulling out his wand. “Diffindo” The severed ropes fell off the Centaur and he stood up.

“Thank you” He muttered before following after the herd. Alicia turned to Jamie and smiled.

“What?” He asked, getting to his feet. Alicia just shook her head.

“Nothing... Just that I think you made a friend” She laughed as Hermione and Harry walked away through the trees. “Come on” She took his hand and followed the others out of the Forest.


Disapparate

Alicia looked over at the three Death Eaters following Jamie. She was behind a tree in the Forest they had been hiding in. She watched as Jamie turned round and realised they were there and then began to run.

“ALICIA!” He shouted, glancing round the trees trying to find her. “WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?”

“JUST KEEP RUNNING!” She answered back, causing the Death Eaters to slow slightly as they looked round for her.

“THAT DOESN’T HELP, YOU KNOW!” Jamie retorted, turning a corner.

She turned on the spot and appeared next to him. He glared at her as she grabbed his arm, waiting to Disapparate him out of danger. The Death Eaters rounded the corner and she turned into the suffocating darkness.
