25 Encores Fit For Centre Stage

Now that I'm potentially the most active in the school RP than I've ever been during my ten years on SS, I figured it only fitting that I wrote drabbles for my current school character. The SS100 challenge made me feel uncomfortable and I wouldn't dare dedicate the time for that until after Rooney had graduated (please remind me that this is my plan!) With his primary love being the stage, I decided that the SS25 challenge would be more like him. Creating a soundtrack would help me understand him better and have a literal hearing aid to come back to. I promise nothing but Broadway babies, showtunes and West End whoppers for the son of my first SnitchSeeker character. Break a leg!

Rooney was aware that Christmas was mere days away, and the toddler was waking up every day at this time in case Santa came early. Tonight, Santa hadn’t come and it definitely wasn’t Christmas.
There was screaming and shouting in the hallway and lights were on.
“They were children!” Mama shouted.
Roo wasn’t sure that Mama or Daddy knew that he could see everything. He could hear her crying and him apologising. He could see the police holding Daddy’s arms behind his back and arresting him.
“Baby, forgive me!”
But Daddy, why?
All he wanted to see was Santa.

Tearing open the envelope which contained Liv’s letter, Rooney was more nervous for her than he was for himself. He knew how much this meant to her too. They both had a WADA dream and this summer it could be well on it’s way. His eyes scanned the words, ‘congratulations’ and ‘accepted’ and he burst into tears with his best friend at his side.
This was it. They were going together this summer, and they’d go together in a few years.
Together.
Like how their lips, their smiles, their faces merged together in the midst of their crying hug.
Together.

Being torn between two girls seemed to be the only constant in Rooney’s life. It didn’t matter whether it was Charlotte and Minnie, Minnie and Olivia or Olivia and Charlotte.
One of the blondes stood before him, backed against a door and for the life of him, Rooney couldn’t quite recall how they had gotten here. How they had gone from practicing kissing in the courtyard to right here and right now. Him pleading for forgiveness.
Probably a stupid decision.
Charlotte made a few of those.
“Let’s take a day off being smart.” And go back to writing secret santa letters.

With everything happening so quickly, Rooney hadn’t been able to consider any of the questions he had or any of the thoughts plaguing him. Instead, he was left trying to catch those thoughts and experience them fully…before another happened. For someone who found it so easy to categorise his thoughts and feelings, this was impossible to cope with.
