Kingsley watched as Sirius Black made his way into the Great Hall. The boy had a dangerous smirk on his face. Kingsley watched with wry amusement as Sirius whispered something to Remus Lupin, who glared at him and then stood up. They made their way towards the doors again.
Kingsley stood up and followed them, making sure that they didn’t notice him.
“It’s a dare, you’ve got to do it!”
“Easy for you to say Padfoot!”
Padfoot? Kingsley thought that was an odd nickname. He knew these boys were talented, anyone could see that, but what were they up to? | |

Mounted on the Thestral, holding Hermione-Harry steady with one hand, Kingsley shot spells at the pursuing Death Eaters. With Hermione joining fight, they were able to injure at least two and perhaps kill one before Hermione gave an ear-splitting scream.
Voldemort was in front of them, flying without support. His serpentine features curled in to a malevolent smile: he was enjoying this.
Kingsley felt the righteous anger build within him. He turned his wand on Voldemort. “Avad-”
Voldemort vanished. Kingsley continued to send spells out into the night holding Hermione firmly, urging the beast beneath him towards their destination.

The women in the office were very intrigued by the handsome newcomer with the slow deep voice. He was unlike the other political beasts they usually had to deal with. He was efficient, a perfect gentleman and highly charming but lacked the aggressive ambition of the others.
He was also highly attentive to the Prime Minister. They watched as he was strangely assigned the coveted duties which meant spending a great deal of time with the PM. They saw the men become jealous and question the motivations of the newcomer, but they knew better. They could tell: he was good.

“I listen in Potions, so we’re not going to get caught!”
“It’s cheating!”

Kingsley looked at Coralie with sheer disbelief that she could be so naive.
“Oh come on, don’t be such a coward!”
Kingsley dropped the strands of her hair into the potion. It hissed and bubbled unpleasantly, turning a bright pink colour.
“I could teach you -”
“I CAN do it properly, I just can’t pass the test without splinching myself.”
Kingsley swallowed the potion.
“You’re tangy, d’you know that?”

A Box Full Of Goodies

Kingsley parceled up all the goodies from Honeydukes and sent attached them to the legs of two owls. They took off into the setting sun and he grinned. He hadn't seen Dora or Remus in a long while but it amused him to think of of the two of them opening the Christmas gift. He knew that Dora liked some of the things that were in the box but it was really Remus’ sweet tooth that he had catered for.
He hoped that the box would bring the two of them some joy, if only for a few brief moments.

John Dawlish slammed his beefy hand down on the table, knocking his cup over.
“I’m ruddy telling you, he’s an animagus! It’s the only thing that makes any sense!”
Kingsley chuckled dismissively and shook his head. Dawlish scowled.
“Don’t you think that almost two hundred hours of interviews with housemates, friends and a string of bitter ex-girlfriends would have turned up some evidence?”
“We should bring Lupin in...”
“I questioned him. He doesn’t know anything. I put veritaserum in his tea.” Kingsley replied calmly.
Scrimgeour frowned deeply.
“I know you don’t like it but we know he’s being honest.”

Kingsley sat in Professor Dumbledore’s office staring at his shoes. He wasn’t exactly sure how he had ended up there. Acting like a Gyffindor probably.
“Dueling in the corridors is not what we expect from out prefects Mr Shacklebolt. Would you care to explain how it happened?”
Kingsley met his eye, but couldn’t hold the headmaster’s gaze. “I’m sorry sir, but I can’t say.”
Dumbledore raised his eyebrows.
“I have a sneaking suspicion that you were being chivalrous. However, dangling another your opponent by the ankles and making him sing ‘I’m a little teapot’ was probably taking it too far.”

You’ve seen his face in the newspaper, you think. The tall bald black guy. The ubiquitous undercover police officer, he seems to go everywhere the Prime Minister goes. You joked to your friend: “I’d have a body guard, if they all look like him.”
You’ve seen him on the TV, when the PM visited that hospital last month, after the bridge collapsed. He was scanning the crowd, you thought he was looking for a particular face, a particular threat.
You’ve seen him on the street in London, wasn’t he on TV? That bloke, with the earring? Maybe you imagined it....

A worthy opponent

Kingsley raised his shield just in time to deflect the stunner.
“Come on, You can do better than that!”
Another stunner came in his direction, which he blocked, sending an effective trip jinx at his opponent.
“I’m going to think you don’t mean it!” He laughed, and that was a mistake.
His opponent sent a stinging hex at his wand hand and he was too busy laughing to block it. He dropped his wand.
Sirius gave a bark of laughter.
“You’re good Kingsley, but fighting talk doesn’t suit you!”
The two men laughed together, putting an end to their dueling practice.

Kingsley looks in the mirror, tying his tie, getting ready for work. He sees you over his shoulder. “Oh hello.” He rumbles in his slow, deep voice. “How are you?”. He turns to face you.
“How did you expect me to look?” He asks. “Like George Harris?” He turns back to the mirror and adjusts his tie. “I thought he looked a little... old. Didn’t you think I’d look more like Adrian Lecester? Or Wil Johnson?” Kingsley raises an eyebrow. “Surely not Andi Peters?”
He turns back to you. “Or did you have another idea of how I might look?” (I know the Andi Peters joke a) won't translate outside the UK and b) shows my age but I couldn't help it)

Making his way through the Department of Mysteries, wand trained on Lucius Malfoy’s head with no small amount of pleasure, Kingsley noted the frail beauty of the timetuners falling, smashing and reforming in a waterfall like stream. He wondered if they could possibly be repaired, or new ones made. Malfoy stumbled, wobbling dangerously towards the bell jar with the hummingbird inside it. Kingsley gripped his upper arm tightly.
“I should let you slip and have done with you.” Kingsley hissed,“Only you’d be missing out on the Dementors, wouldn’t you?” Malfoy paled, perhaps wishing for a timeturner of his own.
