Delilah was looking for something specific. She waved off a Muggle salesperson, who was trying to force her help upon the young woman. She did not need help, she knew what she was looking for.

Luckily, it didn’t take her long to find exactly what she was looking for.

Delilah paid with the last of her Muggle money and hurried out of the shop. She managed to find herself a nice, secluded spot, and apparated to the Leaky Cauldron, from which, she proceeded on towards the place where she would meet and generally torture her sister’s darling boyfriend, Evander Bole.

Even from across the Great Hall, Lily knew that Lachlan MacFusty was up to no good. She had been watching the Slytherin for some time now, perhaps a little bit paranoid. After the totally awesome prank she had pulled on him at the end of last term, she was patiently awaiting retribution.

But for one moment, one single moment, she looked away, and thus, sealed her fate. A large clump of mashed potatoes flew across the table and hit her right on the side of her face. Someone shouted “FOOD FIGHT!” and the entire Gryffindor table was up in arms.

Andrew Riley was the most interesting Muggle Lily had ever met. He had a completely glamorous life that took her in and pulled her under. Fresh out of Hogwarts, she fell in deep and she didn’t listen when her parents decided that they didn’t like him. He took her for a ride in his race car, where he told her he loved her. He took her to a chapel, where they got married.

Maybe it was all doomed from the start, but she was young and in love, blinded to everything but what did revolve around her world with Andrew.

It was the first time that her mother was attempting to teach her how to bake with magic. Delilah was just out of her first year at Hogwarts and she was very eager to learn.

Her mother had stepped out of the kitchen for just a single moment to help her sister, and left Delilah in charge. The recipe was simple, they were only attempting to make a cake, but somehow, Delilah must have gotten just a little too excited, or distracted, because there was soon a bright flash, and in an instant, the entire cake was up in flames.

After a few rather uncomfortable hours of labor, Brysen Andrew Riley was born early the morning of October 7, 2063. He wasn’t a small baby, but he wasn’t too big, a steady seven pounds and five ounces, ten fingers, ten toes, two blue eyes, he was perfect. Even from the start, he looked just like his father. Everyone came to visit the new addition to the family, but all Lily really remembered about the day, was the first time she got to hold her son.

Suddenly, he was the only thing that mattered, her very future right before her eyes.

Worst. Class. Ever.

Delilah barely restrained from banging her forehead on the table, instead, tugged on her hair. Who really needed to know about Divination anyway? What good was it going to do for her to know what color she was supposed to wear next Tuesday?

Well.. that was the only thing she ever found the class to be, anyway, just a whole bunch of mumbo jumbo.

Finally, she raised her hand, “May I be excused from this incredibly boring class? My horoscope says it’s not a good day for napping, and I am much too pretty to go bald.”

When Lily was pregnant, she had a LOT of very odd food cravings. The worst one was probably the most obvious of pregnant women cravings: pickles and hot fudge. It was a legit craving for a long time. Often nights, Andrew would find her sitting in the dark beside the refrigerator, a jar of pickles beside her, and a jar of hot fudge in her hand.

But, the funny thing about it all was when Brysen got old enough for pickles and hot fudge, he didn’t like them at ALL, even separately. Lily didn’t care for them much anymore either.

Delilah knew that she was a big girl now, moving out of her parent’s house was the right thing for her to do. It wasn’t that she was scared of living on her own, she loved Egypt and was more than excited to go back, but as she told Robbie about her plans, she couldn’t help but feel… something.

Even with floo and apparating, Egypt was much farther away from England, and him. That was definitely the worst part.

So she asked him to come with, and he said yes. Now, all that was left was to tell her parents…

Since Lily was no longer working at Hogwarts, she wasn’t living away from home anymore. Brysen liked it much better this way, though he had never come out and actually said it. Some mornings, Van would come over for breakfast, and Lily would prepare a small feast.

On one such morning, she sat at the table with a cup of coffee. Brysen was finishing his homework, and Van was reading the Daily Prophet. Although it was not legally recognized, or maybe, might never be, that was okay, this was her little family, and she was so glad to be home.

It was the first day of flying classes, and all the little first years gathered around. Delilah was already bored. As the teacher spoke, it hardly looked as if she was listening at all, and so, she was made an example of.

“Moretti. Why don’t you come up here and show us how it’s done.”

In fact, her brothers had already taught her a thing or two about flying. They said they wanted her to be ready when she got to Hogwarts and not end up like Lily, who had fallen off of her broom and broken her collar bone.

“Take it back!” Lily demanded of a very tall and scary Gryffindor boy. He had been spreading awful rumors about her, everyone kept saying it was because he had a secret crush on her, and she never paid him any attention.

“What are you going to do about it anyway? I’m much bigger than you, Moretti.”

Lily showed him. First, she kicked him in the shin as hard as she could, which really did nothing more but distract him for just a moment, and then, she punched him in the nose. The blood was immediate, and so was the pride.

“Of course, Professor.” The littlest Moretti performed all of the necessary steps that had been outlined, and her broom rose up, taking her feet off of the ground. The others clapped. But Delilah had always had a thirst for the limelight, being the youngest child did that to you well.

She rose higher and higher, until before she was urged to come back down. She pretended to have gone temporarily deaf. It could happen in such thin air, right?

That was when she started to show off. It turned out to be something she never outgrew. She was a natural.

Lilyan sat comfortably on the bench, her eyes taking in every student as they looked back at her. She had wondered, starting from the very day her Hogwarts letter arrived, what house she would be sorted into. There was no doubt she was a difficult case, easily she could fit into any house.

She had the Ravenclaw smarts and thirst for knowledge. She had the Hufflepuff friendliness and rumored love of food. She had the Slytherin cunning and deep desire. She had the Gryffindor temper and general disregard for the rules.

But the sorting hat know it’s job well.
