Damon walked into the Great Hall for the first time. His father’s mischievous smirk on his face, ready to step in his father’s place as the new Hogwarts great prankster. He walks up when his name is called and just waits to be like the rest of his family; called into the greatest Hogwarts house, Gryffindor. Then the sorting hat says one word, not even debating, “Hufflepuff!” Damon’s world drops from under him, his red hair seemed to dim as did his emerald green eyes. What an embarrassment for him. What will his father say when he learned the truth?

Damon was sitting at Ariana’s birthday party, little as he wanted to be there. His father had forced him to go, even though Ariana hated him and the feeling was mutual. He sighed as Ariana walked in the door clearly surprised by everyone, then she saw him helping Rowan with decorations. “What’s Mercada doing here?” He hear her words are laced with hatred. Though it’s her birthday, he glares back, “Nice to see you too Logan,” I roll my eyes and turn back to help my brother who’s struggling with keeping his balance on the chair. He still hated her.

You see a tall dark haired boy standing at the altar. He’s dressed in a black tux and turns to look nervously back as the bridal march begins. He smiles seeing his bride walking down the aisle towards him. As the girl reaches the front with him she takes his hand, a big smile spreading on both their faces. He gently takes the girls hand and whispers “I love you, Ari.” This makes the girl’s smile widened and she the same back to him before they start stating their vows. They’re finally making their promise to be together forever true.

Damon woke with a small yawn. He looked down and smiled seeing his girlfriend still curled close to him, fast asleep. They were getting close to the train station, and then they’d have to part ways for about a month. He sighed and gently nudged her awake with a small smile. When she let out a small moan, not wanting to wake up. Damon chuckled and started to reach for his wand. When he grabbed it his face fell, why did it feel shorter than it should have? He pulled it out to discover it broken in half, “I’m dead…”

Damon was walking around the dungeons trying to find his girlfriend as always when he looked down into the secret passage. He paused and looked down it, almost laughing remembering how two years ago Taylor had almost trampled him. He owed her thanks for that still, even if they didn’t talk because he never would have met his love. He walked down, recalling his first words to her. ‘Damon Ashllyn-Darkmyr Mercada… but for you, it’s Ash, I know it must be hard for a pretty blonde girl like yourself to pronounce such a mouthful.’ Damon laughed and shook his head.

Damon walked into the owlery looking around he called for Sylvia. He smiled as his owl landed on his wrist, hooting happily at seeing her owner. He handed her a treat and then a letter, going home to his father as always, “Get him to write something back and I’ll give you a few more treats.” He chuckled as she grew more excited. She always seemed to know what he was saying even though he knew she probably didn’t. He watched her take off again and sighed. How long would it take her to get the letter to his father?
