Yule Ball Luna entered the Great Hall with her butterbeer bottle cap necklace and radish earrings on. Her long blonde hair fell down her back as she entered and looked at everyone dancing.
“Luna, you do know this is a Yule Ball, right?” someone asked her.
With the same smile that was always on her face, she nodded.
“Then why are you wearing that?” the same person asked, referring to Luna’s interesting choice in jewelry.
Luna’s hand flew to the butterbeer bottle cap necklace and said in a bit of a hushed tone, “This will keep the Nargles in the mistletoe away.” | |

22. Nargle-Infested Kneazle
Kneazle Luna looked at Hermione’s kneazle, which was fussing around.
“Crookshanks!” Hermione exclaimed, as Luna was looking at the magazine in front of her with a dreamy, far off expression on her face.
Luna looked up from her upside-down copy of the Quibbler and glanced at Hermione and Crookshanks. “Hermione?” Luna started as she looked at the kneazle again.
“Yes, Luna?” Hermione sighed.
“Have you checked Crookshanks for Nargles? I heard they were very bothersome creatures, perhaps you’ll want to borrow my radish earrings?” Luna asked with a smile.
Hermione shook her head slowly and walked away with a frustrated kneazle.

92. Dabberblimps like Chocolate Cookie Earrings Chocolate
 Luna peeled back the silver foil around the chocolate square. She carefully cut a hole in the small, round cookie and set the chocolate in the middle. Around her, some first years were watching her curiously. Luna then strung the cookie onto a red string with a silver hook. She fastened them in her ears before looking at the first years, who clearly thought she was insane.
“Daddy told me that it could lure out the dabberblimps when I’m out by the lake,” she said to no one in particular. “He wants to put them into the Quibbler’s next issue.”

41. Of Thestrals, Pumpkins and Flippsnocrats Thestrals
 Luna had some sort of mystery meat in her hand as she sat on a giant jack-o-lantern. The pumpkin was large and quite ripe. She tossed the thing in her hand out into the air and a scaly creature quickly dove for it as it landed on the ground. The pumpkin she was sitting on, she reckoned, would be of some use to her father and their hunt for flippersnocrats.
“L-L-Loon-Luna, what is that thing?” a first year who had stumbled by asked.
“A thestral,” she replied, pulled from her thoughts of flippersnocrats.
The thestral took off into the forest.
