1.Herbology

GURDYROOT OR GILLYWEED!


“hey Neville. What are you doing?” asked a dreamy voice.
Neville turned and saw Luna there.
“um…I was just having a look at the plants here” he said looking at her.
“interesting” she said and walked to where he was, standing below a tree in the water.
“is this Gurdyroot?” asked Luna
“Gurdyroot?
He asked quizzically.
“No, no it isn’t. it's a Gillyweed” he said smiling. Ha…he knew Herbology better than her.
“oh then why is it gulping off Glumping Pimpies?” she asked serenely. He looked at her.
“Oh,” he said looking still confused and looked at the Gillyweed in his hand.

8. Potions:

PROFESSOR SNAPE

“Luna?” said a hesitant voice.
The dreamy, blonde haired girl turned and saw Neville in the library with a half a dozen of books his hands
“hello Neville. What books are those?” she asked smiling
“Potions” he said. Because that is all that is needed to say if Neville had to re-write Professor Snape’s essay on Everlasting Elixirs.
“oh”
“never liked it” he said sighing and sitting down
“and I am sure Snape will not allow me to clear this subject in OWLs too” he said his looking at the books worriedly.
“don’t worry”, Luna said patting his back sympathetically

3. Transfiguration:

GRAN

Neville silently walked behind Professor McGonagall. Professor McGonagall turned to face Neville. He gulped.
“Mr.Longbottom”
“yes, Professor” he said meekly.
“I have gone through your subjects and I have noted that you wish to drop Herbology”
Neville nodded
“and why may I think so?”
“Gran” his voice broke. Minerva smiled.
“I will talk to your Gran about it, Neville. Don’t drop out of Herbology” she said giving an affectionate smile and Neville was surprised at the softness of the ever so strict deputy headmistress.
“and congratulations on your OWL in Transfiguration, Longbottom” she said smiling and giving his time table.

25. Sorting Hat:

RAVENCLAW

Neville was in his second year and it was time for the feast and the sorting to begin. He looked around for his dorm mates Harry and Ron but they were missing. He looked through the crowd to see if he could find them but he noticed a red headed girl and a blonde next to her. She looked pretty.
The sorting began and the names went on when a name was called out ‘Luna Lovegood’ and the blonde girl walked up confidently to the stool and sat down and the instant the sorting hat touched her head it shouted
‘RAVENCLAW’

20. Hogsmeade:

SURPRISED

It was Christmas time at Hogwarts and there was a trip to Hogsmeade. Neville was thinking of asking Luna to come for the trip.
“evening Neville” said Luna coming from behind and Neville froze.
“hey” he said stuttering like the usual. He was nervous.
He didn’t know how to ask her. When he was thinking of words to speak to her, Luna asked
“Neville, will you come with me to Hogsmeade tomorrow?” Neville was stunned by her question. He was delighted and nodded
“I will be delighted” he said surprised that he spoke what he felt for the first time.

95.Snowball

THUD!

Neville was walking through the ankle deep snow back from Hogsmeade to Hogwarts castle. It was the last Hogsmeade trip before the kids left for vacation.
“Thud” a soft thing hit his back and then it slid on his jacket clad back. He turned and saw Luna and Ginny throwing snowballs at each other. He saw a never seen mischievous smile on Luna’s face as she made another snowball to hit
“Ginny I told not to hit him!” she exclaimed but laughed
“Neville should I take the revenge for you?” she asked and Ginny giggled and ran away from Luna.

2.Muggle Studies:


DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GUITAR AND VIOLIN

“Morning” said a voice. The 12 year old Neville turned and saw the blonde from the sorting standing there at the Gryffindor table. She sat down next to him.
“hey” he said.
“what are you writing?” she asked
“oh I was trying to finish my Muggle Studies homework” he said scratching his head.
He was behind in his work.
“what’s a difference between a guitar and a violin?” he said aloud to no one in particular.
“oh well, guitar doesn’t need a bow to play it” she said simply and shrugging
“yeah, right” he said.
“how could I forget that?”

68. Roar:

WEASLEY IS OUR KING!

The Great Hall was in a complete din.
“Weasley is Our King”
“Born in a Bin”
“He lets the quaffle in” and there was laughter all around.
Ron was becoming from red to blue to green. Neville was sitting next to him patting him to calm down but no effect and then suddenly a roar sounded. The source, Luna’s incredibly looking lion hat.
“I made this for today’s match” she said sitting next to Ron and looked at anyone who would listen to her.
“that’s lovely Luna” he said but went red and regretted as he received various funny looks.

27.Owl:

LOVE LUNA

An owl swooped by in the Longbottom household in the middle of bright summer afternoon
“Neville you have a letter” called out Gran
Neville was surprised. It wasn’t time to return to Hogwarts yet.
‘whose letter is it?’ he thought. He rushed down to get the letter. He reached the dinning hall and grabbed the letter realizing whose handwriting it was. Smiling broadly he walked back to his room.

43. Headmaster:

MISSION


It was in the dead of the night when Neville, Luna and Ginny made there way into the Headmaster’s Office. They were on a mission to steal the Gryffindor Sword.
“Dumbledore” Neville whispered as he saw the headmaster’s portrait sleeping.
Dumbledore opened his eyes and smiled at the three. He had a hunch what to expect.
“we are taking the Gryffindor Sword away” said Luna
“with you gone, no one will take care of the sword” Ginny said
“this is as a mark of support for you and Harry, sir” Neville spoke bravely.
Luna's respect for the toad boy increased.

50 Boggart:

DA

“REDUCTO”
“EXPELLIARMUS”
“IMPEDENTIA”
The members of DA were back in action in the room of requirement. Luna was sitting in one place and reading a book on Dark Arts next to a cupboard. The insides of the cupboard rattled. Luna got up to see what was inside. She opened the cupboard and then stood stock still and pale.
“RIDIKULUS” Neville said firmly coming next to Luna. He put his hand around her shoulder. A small tear escaped her eye and she buried her face in his shoulder. She would never be able to see Neville die.
“its just a Boggart"

54. Dare:

PANSY

“are those radishes dangling from your ears there Loony?” said a squealing pug faced Parkinson
“hello Pan” Luna said sweetly
The color of Pansy’s face changed
“Pan?”
“well don’t you think it’s a wonderful nickname?” she asked sweetly.
“you think my face is as flat as a pan?” she demanded now towering over Luna.
“well I never said that” came the calm reply
“but you meant it”
“did I?”
“yes you did, Loony!”
“I didn’t ”
“yes you did”
“okie fine maybe I did, so?”
“you are ridiculous Loony” Pansy said
“da-dare you call her that” came a hesitant voice

96 Socks:

LUCK

It was winter time and the kids were out playing in the snow. Luna walked up back into the castle and sat on the stairs leading to the Ravenclaw Tower after playing with snow. Her shoes had snow in them. She sat down on the seat and pulled her shoes off.
“Luna?”
“yes?”
“what’s wrong with your socks?”
“what’s wrong with them? they are fine”
“no they aren’t. You didn’t see while you wore your socks?”
“yes I did?”
“then why are they different from each other?” asked Neville confused
“good luck” she whispered secretively
Neville chuckled shaking his head

31. Dress Robes :

Yule Ball

It was the time for yet another Yule Ball and Neville was getting ready in his new set of dress robes in his room back in Hogwarts. But this time he was the professor.
“Nevilliy ready?” came a sweet voice and Nevilliy turned red. He looked here and there. Even walls have ears.
“yea-yeah Luna” came Neville’s voice.
Luna came in and saw Neville in new dress robes which made him look so charming. She went and pulled his cheeks like that of a child and kissed him on his cheek
“you look charming Neville” she said hugging him tightly.

17. Cauldron:

LUNA'S MUM

A blonde haired, blue eyed woman was busy stirring a potion which was steaming continuously and dangerously. She was a woman of great talent in potions and herbology and she was an inventor and then one day BOOM.

Luna opened her eyes. She sighed and her eyes watered a bit. It was just a dream, she thought. She slept again. This time she dreamt of a much lighter dream, a hopping cauldron instead of a hopping pot from the Tales of Beedle and the Bard. Luna smiled sleeping.
Neville was back after work to see Luna smiling in her sleep.

78. Author's Choice

CRUCIATUS CURSE

“CRUCIO” and he heard a scream of a woman.
“CRUCIO” and then he heard a man scream.
Neville shut his eyes tight and was sweating badly and shaking in his bed.
“Neville, Neville” called a worried voice
“what happened?” was another voice a much more calmer but nonetheless worried voice.
“he is sweating and shaking” said the guys voice
“calm down Seamus” said the Weasley girl.
“Neville?” called the calm voice her hand on his shoulder waking him up.
He opened his eyes to see his friends Ginny, Luna and Seamus who himself looked like a victim of Cruciatus Curse.

13. Quidditch

COMMENTATING

Neville was reading his herbology essay one evening in the Great Hall when Luna came and sat opposite him. He looked up and smiled but blushed all together. She returned his smile. He went back to reading.
“do you play Quidditch?”
He looked at her confused
“um…no”
“oh alright” she said
“well I am commentating for the first match this year” she said beaming.
“Congrats”
“Thanks”
“You should actually play” she said
“um…well I doubt that since I can barely keep myself up in air for more then a minute”
“but you did fairly well on the thestrals” she complimented.

14. Hogwarts, A History

A BIRTHDAY PRESENT

“Mum, can I open my presents please?” asked the excited just turned 11 Alice Longbottom.
Luna nodded in agreement as she passed on dessert to the guests arrived.
The excited girl went on unwrapping the presents and exclaimed with joy with every present she opened.
And then came ,a big huge present which she carefully opened it, slightly intimidated by the size and found a hard, leather bound book Hogwarts, A History.
Alice looked up at her dad confused and he gave a knowing smile as to which absent guest must have sent this present to his daughter... Hermione Granger.
