It was mid afternoon and the weather was a bit muggy. Aiden Chevalier was sitting by the lake, munching on a lovely treat, a chocolate frog. He was enjoying it, just sitting alone, with some chocolate. Awesome.

Out of nowhere... THWACK.

Woah, "Ella?!" What on Earth was the meaning of this? He hadn't done anything wrong!

"You gonna give me a chocolate frog, or what?" She asked sternly. Yeah, Ella got her potions homework back today and it wasn't good, which equaled a snappy mood.

Surrendering, Aiden offered the crazy girl the remains of his chocolate. Oh, seriously... this girl.

"Fancy another mustache like I gave you and Trix in History of Magic?" Aiden joked. But actually, he wasn't joking that much. Muahah.

"Are you threatening me, Chevalier?" Ella was flabbergasted. Was he that bored that the only entertainment he could think of was coming at her with a marker pen? She watched the boy, and how proud he was of himself.

"Just a mere warning."

Pfffftttt, right....

"Aguamenti!" Ella suddenly bellowed, aiming her wand at Aiden's face. A jet of water produced from her wand's tip and knocked the Gryffindor back. Ohhh, yeah. Do not mess with Ella Ainsworth.

Hours, Ella had been pacing the corridor of this hospital. Out of everyone that he knew, she was the first to get here. And with her eyes stinging and her body aching, she waited impatiently for news about Aiden.

His bloody Auror job. She knew that it would end in tragedy, only now, she hoped a miracle would happen. Ella rubbed her stomach. It wasn't long until she was planning on telling Aiden the news. And now she only feared that it would never happen.

"Mrs Chevalier?" Ella didn't stop to acknowledge the healer's expression, and just entered the room.

You probably cannot believe what you are reading, but Aiden Chevalier and Patrick Dubois were... shopping today!

Valentine's Day was approaching and they needed to get a few little gifts for their gals. Aiden entered Honeydukes straight away, and his best friend followed with his eyebrow highly raised.

The chocolate section? "Mate, do you really think Ella would accept a chocolate frog for Valentine's Day?" Patrick questioned.

Picking up about five packs, Aiden snorted. "Trust me, Pat. You don't know Ella like I do." Buying chocolate frogs would make Aiden the best boyfriend in the world, in her eyes.

Ella wasn't a vain person, so the mirror part of her detention didn't bother too much, just freaked her out. But the fact that the professors decided to bring in a 'fake-Aiden' had made it all quite traumatic.

She watched as he turned away from her, disgusted. And she genuinely thought it was real.

Was that it? He didn't want anything to do with her anymore??!

Later that day, Ella found the Gryffindor who looked quite pleased to see her, actually. WHAT. Mixed signals, dude. "So, I'm not ugly anymore, then?" She asked, clearly annoyed.

"What ARE you talking about?...."

Despite Ella's mind being very anti-education, a part of her was actually excited about Hogwarts. It was a vast improvement from Beauxbatons, and that's all that mattered. She had met a few nice people, too. Thank Merlin for that.

Sitting at the Slytherin table, she noticed Trixie sitting a few seats down, then looked up as Patrick sat in front of her. Good. They were both Slytherins, then.

Now, where was that hottie from the train? Aiden, right? She scanned the hall, after realizing that he wasn't at her own table, and moments later... she found him.

Ah. A Gryffindork.

It was Valentine's Day at the Aidella household. And despite being well into their twenties, it was still a big deal to Ella and her self-esteem. However, this year, Aiden had not impressed.

"It's a mixtape of your favourite songs." And that was it. The girl stared at him impatiently, then forced a smile. "I thought it would be romantic..."

...

"If you wanted to be romantic, Aiden, you should've carved our names into the Whomping Willow." She said sarcastically, with a sigh.

Really, she didn't mean to be so stressy. But being pregnant and all, her stress levels had increased.

Patrick. Vanessa. Aiden. Ella.

You could hardly call them a group of friends back in the Hogwarts days. In fact, it was a love square of mixed feelings and confusion. Try and keep up.

Aiden liked Ella, no one else, but Ella. Yet, he and Vanessa had conducted a plan which consisted of a fake relationship between them. It was all to make Patrick jealous, who was dating Ella.

You see, Vanessa liked Patrick. Patrick liked Vanessa, too, but also Ella. Which left the little Ella on the fence.

She would have happily dated them both.

How times have changed.

SNOOOOOOORE.

Parenthood was tough sometimes, so if a woman wanted a small break from three annoying children, then she would go ahead and do just that. Ella, who had currently left four year old Andrew playing in his bedroom, was taking a snooze on the sofa.

The other kids were out with Aiden, or so she thought.

The four of them (Aiden, Sam, Liv and Andrew) were all tiptoeing towards her. Andrew was giggling like a baboon but good thing Ella was a heavy sleeper.

"Three.... two.... one...." Aiden whispered, before a group....

"RAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"

Her eyes shot open like headlights, and she sent a GLARE to her husband.

The stars and moon twinkled brightly on the night of the Alumni Ball.

After a dance or two in the great hall and a little drama outside with a certain old flame, the tuxed-out and dateless Aiden moved on to the lavishly decorated gardens. He smiled a little when he finally found the girl he’d been looking out for the whole night.

Unbeknownst to the Gryffindor approaching, Ella was standing before the gardens, arms folded and her mind wondering why in the world she was at a dance.. and wearing a dress.

...

So.. she wasn’t here with Patrick? He wasn’t here with Savannah?

“In that case… be my date for the rest of the night?”

And she said yes.

"Once upon a time..." Ella shifted the book and her position into a comfortable one. This was totally not her thing. Aiden watched her, eyes drooping over baby Samuel's bed.

"Right. Once upon a time, there was a..." She shifted again, and Aiden sat up.

"Do you want me to read it?" He insisted, clearly getting frustrated with his wife.

"No! The MUMS are supposed to read stories to their kids." Clearing her throat, Ella smiled at little Samuel, and started the book again. Aiden sighed, and rested his lazy eyes on the bed again, not really listening to the story.

As quietly as he possibly could, sixteen-year-old Samuel Chevalier snuck back into the house around 1 AM. His father slept soundly on the floor above, but out from the kitchen stepped Ella with an expectant look upon her face.

“Well… let’s hear it, then.” She folds her arms.

“I was… at the Dubois house. Isaac needed help, you know… with…. Potions.”

“Potions? I see.. what kind of potions was it, Sam?”

“Uh.. medicinal ones. He’s got a cold..”

Ella nods, slowly. “And where are your books?”

“I.. forgot them at his house..?”

“Oh, okay. So, I guess Patrick won’t mind if I give them a ring to make sure they’re there.” Ella takes a step toward the phone.

“No – wait!”

Bingo.

Unlike his two younger siblings, Samuel had no talents with lying.

She'll never notice. Heck, the food in this house belonged to him, too. She'll never notice. He only wanted one anyway. She will NEVER notice just one missing.

It was dark, Aiden had just gotten home after a tough day at work, and he needed a little light refreshment.

Like I said, she will never notice - or would she?

The grown man felt a prod of a wand boring into his back. She noticed.

"Drop those frogs, this instant."

On command, Aiden dropped the frog and Ella caught it. "Yes, ma'am."

"Aiden, I was testing your manliness. You failed."
