#13 Quidditch
(For Ron/Hermione 4 eva)

Was it normal that Miranda had just left the school, yet she already had missed the Quidditch store? It probably was, because Quidditch was her true love.

“So Torin, you ever think of joining a Quidditch Team?” And here she would then start rattling on and on about the best Quidditch teams if he let her. But would he? Would he take the bait?

Apparently not. It was a shame when all Torin offered he was a shrug and a “I don’t think so. I have too much to deal with.”

Of course. She had forgotten; Brody was Torin’s Quidditch.

#3 Transfiguration

''Hey Torin, let me transform you into a squirrel.'
''What? No. Why would I let you do that?''
''Because I'm awesome at Transfiguration. Remember we rollerskated down that staircase I cushioned?''

Torin stared at Miranda for a moment, wondering if she was kidding. It seemed she wasn't.
''Yeah, we got hurt and Masterson almost left us to die at the bottom. Also, it's the wrong subject – Charms.''

There was a short pause as Miranda thought of what he said.
''Oh yeah.... That was a fun day though.'' Back to the topic. ''So...that's a no to the transfiguring then?''

#51 Act

“Errr, are you okay, Miranda?” Torin had to ask his friend as she kept doing something weird with her eyelashes.

“Whatever you mean, Turtle?” she replied as she kept batting her eyelashes at him. This wasn’t weird, was it? She was sure that she had seen other girls act this way before; they did it all in fun really. She was positive of that fact.

But was she supposed to get an eyelash stuck in there?

Her eye began to water, and she couldn’t see properly anymore. “Torin, take it out! But don’t poke my eye!”

Sigh. “You’re hopeless, Miranda...”

#92 Chocolate!

Torin watched Miranda as his hand inched towards the chocolate frogs on the table. He was this close – his fingertips were touching candy!

Handslap!

"Ouuch!" Torin pouted. Then, "Can I-"
"No."
"But I want-"
"Nooo."
"Just one bite-"
"No!"

Attempting to steal the candy again, he recieved another slap.
"Stoppit!" Miranda knew Torin shouldn't be eating candy due to his diabetes. She squinted at him before surrendering. "Fine. Here, have a sugarfree one."

Torin made a face while still rubbing his sore hand.
"Er. No thanks, I'm not hungry."

#18 Whomping Willow

Surely Torin was mental.

There was no other explanation that she could find for the fact that the boy seemed determined to climb the giant tree.

“Torin, don’t you think this is a bad idea? It’s called The Whomping Willow for a reason. It’s going to get you, and... whomp you.” That’s what it did, right?

But of course him being a boy, he couldn’t see sense.

“I have a plan, Miranda. I’m going to freeze it and then climb it.” He was a genius, truly.

“And I won’t be at your funeral after Brody kills you for doing this.”

#12 Charms

They were sitting in the courtyard, enjoying the sunshine when Torin announced,
"Look," he showed her his wrist where something shiny dangled from it "It's meh lucky charrrms!"
"Uh, your what?"
"Mehhh LUCKY charrrrmmsss!"
"Wait, what?" He sounded like a pirate.

Torin sighed,
"My lucky charms, Miranda." Duuuh.
"Oh, why do you have that?"

Meh, had she forgotten?
"Because you told me to – it's part of the daring me to speak scottish for a day!"
"I thought lucky charms were an Irish thing..." Was it? Nevermind. " I's aye verrry cooul luckeh charrrrmsss!" She nodded enthusiastically

Torin blinked.
"What?"

#81 Depression

Miranda didn’t like this at all. Nope. Depressed Turtle was depressing, and made her wonder why there was depression in the first place. But those deep thoughts made her head start to hurt, so she decided to abandon them.

“She’s not worth it, Torin. She’s not worthy of your tears.” Er, if he was crying. He was definitely mourning her. And she liked Brody, but she was closer to Torin; she would be there for him.

“She refused to give me my gifts back, Miranda. Told me I could find someone who wants me...” And that made him so sad.

#72 Vex

"Here," Torin handed Miranda the dictionary - all the word explanations magically erased by him.

Miranda took the book and read the word Torin pointed out to her. Ahem.
"Vex! To be vexed. A vexer. To vexicize. Vexanization. A vexenerrr. From the latin word 'ven' meaning 'frog'- and the greek word 'naut' meaning turtle-"

"Oh, really, Rabbit?" He snorted. "You're just making that up!"
"How do you know?" It could be true!
"Because 'naut' is not a word in greek...and it defenitely does not mean turle." He smirked.

Dangit, why had she chosen a 'greek' word? Torin was greek! "Flappers!"

#82 Careful

Torin wasn’t sure how he felt about letting Miranda hold Cody, but he still handed the newborn baby over. He’d watch her, and make sure that she didn’t do anything like drop him; his wife might not like their son getting injured.

“You’ve held babies before, right? Make sure you support his head, he’s too young to do it on his own.” He was being paranoid, but he didn’t care.

“Torin, relax. I know what I’d doing. I’ll be careful, and I won’t drop him or anything.” Or at least she hoped she wouldn’t. She didn’t want a mad daddy.

# 14 Howarts, A History

Dunk, dunka, dunk!
Grrr, the one stupid table leg was too short, for some odd reason, and Miranda found it really hard to concentrate on her 'homework' as it kept wobbling. But looking around, she found a thick book and wedged it under the leg. There - no more wobbling.
"Miranda?" Torin's voice carried down to the common room. "Have you seen my book?"
"What book?"
"My 'Hogwarts, A History' book. I left it here somewhere..."

Miranda glanced down at the book on the floor.
"Um, no, I don't think so..."
"Aw, okay." And off he went to continue searching.

#34 Parseltongue

UGH. She was getting sick and tired of Torin being able to do all the dares she gave him. She needed to give him a dare that he couldn’t do. A dare he would fail at.

“Torin,” she said randomly in order to help with the suspense of what she was going to ask. She wanted to make things even worse for him because she was feeing rather evil today.

“Yes, Miranda?”

“I dare you to speak in Parseltongue.” Smirk.

“Parseltongue?”

“Yep.” Prepare to fail, Kane. MWAHAHAHA.

“Er, okay.... hiss hiss hissss hissssity hiss.”

“... I hate you sometimes, Torin.”

#19 Wand

"I'm gonna poke you in the eye with my wand, Torin! Get your butt over here!"

It wasn't as if Torin would actually obey – why would anyone want their eye poked by a wand?
"Not until you say I'm awesome!" Yes, the situation was that, specially because Miranda was levitating in mid air... and he'd managed to grab her chocolate.
"No, I'm not saying that – you chocolate stealer!"
"Awesome chocolate stealer- Eeek!" A shoe suddenly flew at him, but he managed to dodge it, though his concentration failed, making Miranda fall. Ontop of him.

Thump!

"That was...awesome, Torin."

#64 Nap

“Whasnort.”

Miranda made a weird snorting sound as she was startled awake from her nap, Torin pinching her nose.

“Torin, what are you doing?” she gasped out as he let go. Now she was short of breath, and it was all his fault.

“I need you to eat a cupcake.” He held a tray of vanilla cupcakes with coloured frosting and sprinkles out to her.

“These are vanilla, right?” She eyed them suspiciously; she never could be too sure of some things. Though they did smell really good she had to admit.

“No, they’re poison.” Just eat a cupcake already.
