| | Waiting Area Outside Professor Grimsbane's Office
The seating area outside of Professor Grimsbane's office is rather simple. A few squashy armchairs have been assembled along the wall next to her office door. Next to the chairs is a small, round table sporting a teapot and a few blue patterned tea cups. Fresh tea is always available for students who are waiting; a plate full of oddly-shaped cookies is also on offer.
A hipppogriff-shaped knocker sits proudly on the Transfiguration professor's office door, but students may want to be wary of asking about the story behind that little accessory. After using the knocker, students may take a seat, partake in tea and stale cookies, or stand around awkwardly until the professor answers the door. It shouldn't be long now...
OOC: Welcome to Professor Grimsbane's office! Please post your character here before you post in the actual office thread. I will reply to your post and let you know when it's okay to post in the office as soon as possible; this helps keep things organized. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Daehyun "Daniel" Yoon Third Year | Daehyun had thought about it, over and over again. He'd gotten a bunch of new books over the summer, which were now safely tucked in his trunk pushed under his bed, and he'd done his fair share of research... but if he was going to go through with it, he'd come to the conclusion that he would need some guidance from professor Grimsbane.
... even though she intimidated him at times.
He used the fancy hippogriff shaped knocker to knock lightly a couple of times, to avoid startling professor Grimsbane, and then he eyed the cookies. Oddly shaped, but cookies nevertheless, and he did have a weakness for sweets. So, while waiting, he didn't hesitate to help himself to one, out of which he took a big bite and-
... scrunched his nose. It tasted rather... stale... but he couldn't just leave the remaining half back on the plate, so he munched on the rest of it, as well, his nose still scrunched in distaste. And no, it hadn't crossed his mind to just Scourgify it or something. |

The young Gryffindor's knock disturbed some ridiculous antics that Celestia really shouldn't have been engaging in anyway. She had been given a cat at the start of the previous term, which had so far spent long stretches of its time in the castle in the shape of a pygmy puff. Smaller critters were so much easier to manage, really, though it still did plenty of odd feline things. Celestia hadn't spent much any time at all with creatures that weren't crups and so her knowledge of any creature's behavior that she wasn't teaching in class was sketchy at best.
Presently, the feline phenomenom had been positively gallavanting around her office and knocking spellbooks all over the floor. Celestia couldn't have that, and she had been about to Trasnfigure it into its smaller, more manageable form when the knock at her door sounded. Scowling at the cat, the Transfiguration professor stowed her wand back inside her purple robes and moved quickly to the door. She wondered briefly if any of her students would notice the pygmy puff's absence and the cat's appearance, but she rather doubted it. Celestia wrenched the door open with perhaps a bit more force than was necessary and forced the corners of her mouth to form a smile at the student standing outside -- who had a rather odd look on his face as well. "Hello, Mr. Yoon. Why don't you come in?"She stepped to one side so that the boy could enter. Undoubtedly he was quite troubled by something... OOC: Thanks for posting here first! Feel free to post your character entering the office in the office thread now . |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Andromeda Renzler-Denaker Gryffindor First Year | Sorry... Fluttery Pegasi Quinnlin Kevelle was a fool. There was no doubt about that in her mind as she threw open the first door she could find and slammed it closed behind her. How could she be this dense to actually believe things had been on the upswing and would actually remain so. She was a fool to think that. The universe had just been setting up again, hadn't it? The higher it was able the lift her, the more devastatingly it got to knock her down again. And Reese had lifted her higher than anything ever had save for Beth. So, naturally...
It was then Quinn realized where she was. An office waiting space. Professor Grimsbane's to be precise. She watched the office door for a moment before realizing the Professor was most likely already down in the Great Hall for dinner. That had been where Quinn was headed before that loathsome, screeching devil owl of her Mother's happened. It appeared out of nowhere, dropping the letter at her feet and trying to bite a chunk out of her ear as it swooped past and vanished again.
The letter had been ominous enough given that her parents hadn't bothered to write her once. So she had stepped to the side and read it, and as the words and their meaning sank in, she fled. She couldn't been seen. Didn't want to be seen like this by anyone. The emotion swelled in her, a biting bitter anger that seemed to explode our of her in roaring scream as she flung her bag as hard as could against the door leading to the hallway, and collasped into a chair. She swept her hands through her hair and tried to bite back the tears wanting to burst out of her. She hated them, her parents. She saw that as clearly as ever. She'd always hated them but never like this.
Something explode near her head startling her. It was the teapot, flung as violent against the wall as she had flung her bag. In her shock, the tea cups, which had been floating in the air, suddenly found gravity, and crashed to the floor and into many pieces.
Grand. She slid off the chair and began collecting pieces of tea cup and teapot alike. On top of everything she was going to get detention for losing control of her magic and breaking, unintentionally, the Professor's tea set.

Celestia was to be found marking papers in her office yet again when she spared a glance at her watch and realized that she really should be going down to the Great Hall. Heaving a beleagured sigh, Celestia had only taken a few steps away from her desk when she heard the door to her waiting area slam shut. The professor raised an eyebrow and would have made it to the door before more crashes could be heard from the room -- if she hadn't been detained by tripping over the kitten that lived in her office. By the time she had climbed to her feet again, Mira had shot off under one of the bookcases and there certainly had been more crashes from the waiting area.
The professor picked up her pace and had flung her office door open to find Miss Kevelle on the foor picking up pieces. After scanning the room to see what else might be the matter, she determined that the only damage was to her tea set. Celestia moved over to kneel down so that she was at Miss Kevelle's eye level and said simply, "What's wrong, Quinn? Never mind this--" she gestured toward the broken pieces -- "you'll cut yourself trying to pick them up." She withdrew her wand from its customary pocket inside her emerald green robes and cast a few nonverbal Reparos, causing the pieces to fly up into the air once again and take their usual shapes of cups and a tea pot. Once that was out of the way, Celestia simply Vanished the tea that had spilled out of the pot. With the mess now gone, Celestia glanced at Miss Kevelle's face with concern brimming in her eyes. "Why don't you come inside?" OOC: Thanks for posting here first! Feel free to post Quinn in the office thread now |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Tinka the house elf |
*POP*
Tinka appeared in the waiting area, duster in hand, and quickly got to work tidying up. The dust bunnies had been exceptionally active around the castle, or it was the fact that Toddles had been goofing off instead of cleaning. Either way, she was determined to have all of Hogwarts spick and span before the end of the week.
Humming a little tune, Tinka quietly made her way around the area, dusting well under the armchairs and around the refreshments. She paused a moment, taking notice of the oddly shaped not so fresh cookies, and made a mental note to talk with Professor Grimsbane about letting her provide fresh cookies for the students each day.
