Upon entering Professor Carton’s office, it’s easy to see that the space is every bit as organized and practical as the man himself. The walls are painted a dark, non-distracting shade of gray, and a large bookshelf takes up most of the back wall. The bookshelf is home to many textbooks on transfiguration application and theory, as well as the odd novel or two. Ask nicely, and the professor might let you borrow one!

A simple wooden desk sits in the middle of the room, complete with lots of drawers for quills, parchment, and other essential supplies. Behind the desk is a dark red leather chair where the professor can usually be found; two smaller chairs of the same color sit in front of the desk for visitors’ use. The top of the desk is mostly barren, except for a block calendar, silver inkwell, and two framed photos: one of Professor Carton with his late wife, the other of their daughter.

The most interesting feature on the desk is undoubtedly the miniature vanishing cabinet. This model was built by Professor Carton himself and, like everything else in the office, is fully functional. It is linked with an identical model sitting on a small table outside the office. Should you wish to speak to Professor Carton, simply fill out the form below, place it in the vanishing cabinet model with the door closed, and knock on the office door. Please note that only forms, notes, and small gifts for the professor should be placed in the cabinet! Abuse of this privilege by transporting inappropriate items (e.g. rude notes, dungbombs, animals, etc.) will result in the cabinet’s removal.

In spite of telling others that she had completed her animagus training, Sage still had one tiny little detail she had yet to pin down perfectly to make that statement true and it was incredibly frustrating. She had tried to practice over the summer, each time resulting in papa having to swoop in for the rescue and one time she had even had to ask dad's temp assistant to fix her up so she could stop looking like an incomplete satyress. At least she knew with complete confidence what her form was and she leaned into that knowledge a lot so she would cease wallowing in self pity.

Approaching Professor Carton's office, the seventh year internally groaned before filling out the form for this impromptu visit. She really ought to be used to do thing now considering how consistently she visited the man's office but it never ceased being cumbersome nor shake the sentiment of superfluousness.

Norman sat at his desk, poring over his plans for a future lesson. He looked up, noticing the parchment in the vanishing cabinet. Unfolding the parchment, he read its contents and smiled slightly to himself. He had been expecting a visit from this particular student.

Wasting no time, he rose from his chair and opened the door. “Hello, Miss Ransom-Kruus. Please come in,” he greeted, standing aside to allow the seventh year entry to his office. He followed behind, closing the door behind them. Taking his seat once again, he gestured toward the chairs on the opposite side of the desk. “How’s the training going? As I recall from the end of last term, you had some trouble with incomplete transformations. Is that still happening?”

There was something new that Bryony wanted to began working on this year that may not come as any surprise to a few people very close to her. As for others, well, they might be quite shocked by it. The fourteen and a half year old wanted to begin her Animagi Training early. As in this year under the guidance of her Transfiguration Professor. The same exact way both of her parents had learned done so many years earlier.

Annnnd for the record, no, she didn't want to do this because they had. It may look that way to others but this was about her, deeper training for what she wanted to do with her future. But maybe it did help that she already knew exactly what to expect and how difficult this entire process was going to be.

Bry had mentioned it in passing many times over the years when she was younger, but this past summer was when she seriously brought it up to her parents. Roughly ten weeks of very serious talks about what this training consisted of, why she wanted to do this, who all she needed to talk to and every single thing in between. Her parents knew they couldn't make her nervous, when she wanted something... She would keep at it. Not that they had told her no. Having them backing her up was all she every knew.

Bry made her way to the Professors office the first free moment she had shortly after returning back to school. Visits to professors offices wasn't something she did on the regular but she was familiar with the little magical vanishing cabinet outside of this office. So with the use of her own colorful quill, the note was quickly filled out and placed into the cabinet, the little door was then closed.

Sage offered the Transfiguration professor a smile, though a bit weary one considering the circumstances and how they were in direct opposition of her perfectionism, as she stepped into his office and over to the chair that practically had her derriere imprint in it at this point.

Naturally, her go-to defense was to deny and lie but not only was that an obvious hoax considering her purpose of being here but also Professor Carton had broken down that layer of her stubborn pride somewhere around the middle of her fourth year when there was literally nowhere to hide with certain practice rituals. It was frustrating and bruised her pride but whatever. Chalk it up to being an essential part of growing up and blah blah blah.

"Maybe," she nodded while folding her fingers over her knees, not entirely shaking that pride shield for another half a second more in spite of herself. "....yes...sometimes it isn't small like my hand to a hoof...one time over the summer I had to ask papa to undo the transformation because I resembled a knock off satyress. Was left with horns only just once...but mostly it is my limbs, an arm or leg or hand or food, that doesn't quite seem to get the memo. Never my voice or face...just...limbs."

So at LEAST she was consistent on that front.
