The Worple and Warmsley Magical Travelling CarnivalThe Worple and Warmsley Magical Travelling Carnival is here for the first time in Diagon Alley. Sponsored by all your favourite shops of Diagon Alley, the carnival is here for the summer! With magical rides and games, food stalls, knick-knacks and entertainment, this is a party for all ages that you won't want to miss.
It's hard to tell which sense hits you first, the sound of all the different creatures or the smell of them. Either way, you realize that there is a magical petting zoo just behind one of the rides long before the place becomes visible. In front of an enchanted tent is a medium sized enclosure that contains an array of young magical creatures. Transforming rabbits, crups, nifflers, puffskeins, and knarls are just a few of the creatures enclosed in this pin. There must be some shield charms in place as the baby clabberts climbing the enclosure can't seem to escape, not that they've stopped trying. The charms won't keep you from heading in through the gate to play with these cuddly creatures though, and you're more than welcome to!
For a sickle one can get a small bag of treats from the carnie stationed behind the small kiosk by the tent entrance. The tent itself contains a couple of creatures a bit older and more dangerous than the those found in your local pet store. And if you're old enough, the carnie will grant you entrance. Stop trying to figure how they acquired these creatures, and take a look around at the augureys, streelers, and two young three-headed dogs, each in their own large enclosure. Wild winged-horses take residence in the center enclosures, hooves occasionally stomping the dirt in agitation.
Do you risk petting them? No. The charms prevent it for the ones that bite atleast, and one will even alert the carnie so he can kick you out for messing with his creatures. But do enjoy walking the through the circular tent if allowed in, and enjoy the enclosure out front as well.

When he said that he hadn't been able to extract many details about the girls' life, Paulie simply gave another shrug. "Well, if she's transferring to Hogwarts too, you'll have the whole schoolyear to find that stuff out." If she was transferring, that is.
Paulie glanced over at some carnie person. Carnies kinda freaked him out sometimes. But this one didn't seem too freaky, so he turned to Adam again. "Wanna play cards with the carnie?"
Adam gave Paulie a big grin. Finally he had met another guy his age that he could be friends with. Not that he didn't mind hanging out with the girls that he had met; they were incredibly nice after all, but sometimes you just needed to be with another male influence, you know? Adam let out a little chuckle as Paulie used a gypsy reference. "No...I'm uh...not all that keen on it. Makes it kind of hard to get settled and meet people when you don't get the chance to stick around long enough to get to know someone." But Adam had decided this year that he was going to be done with all of that. If his parents decided to move again then that would be their problem, and he was going to have nothing to do with it. "Not to mention my parents are always concerned with their social status, so they moved us in the wealthiest, most stuck-up places they could find. And...uh...let's just say I didn't exactly fit in."
Of course Adam didn't find that to be a bad thing; in fact he'd have been concerned if he was fitting in really well with the people his parents interacted with. Well...when they took the time to introduce him to them anyway which didn't happen often. "I won't be moving again," Adam said with a little smile. "If my parents move, oh well. They're going to kick me out once I graduate from Hogwarts anyway, since I won't be able to hide being wizard from them, so..." Yeah. He was sure after saving up this year he would have enough to get a small apartment somewhere near by if he had to... at least he hoped.
"So, do you have a preference of what house you want to get into?" Adam asked, hoping that maybe they would be in the same one.
Before Adam was able to get a response Paulie had pointed out a somewhat creepy looking carnie who had set out some cards on a wooden stool. Turning to look back at Paulie he gave the boy a shrug of the shoulders. "Sure, why not," Adam said, straightening himself up from leaning forward on the little fence.

Morrigan wandered over to the Petting Zoo section of the carnival, still not entirely believing she was being paid to come here. Still, it was for a good cause, and while she wasn't as zealous about animal rights as some of the others she worked with, she still loved them and wanted them to be in comfortable surroundings.
She looked over the outdoor creatures before heading over to someone who looked like he was part of the display and wiggling her fingers at him in a wave, "Hey there. What's in the tent?"
Jack headed with his partner to the carnival to go check on the animals discretely. Upon arrival he saw many magical animals including some rather exotic ones cooped up in small cages and their was no way whoerver ran this show had a permit for even half of the beasts there. He did his best to keep a straight face and just look like any other tourist. He walked over to the only man in uniform out there to ask some questions. "uh, sir, I have some questions about the animals you keep here.".

That made sense. It was difficult enough making good friends just staying in one spot! "Yeah, I bet," Paulie agreed. Perhaps the perk to moving around a lot was that he got to travel more than most. See different cities, hear different dialects and such. But then he mentioned his parents superficial interests and the perks went down the drain again. "I'm glad to see that you don't give off the whole arrogant git deal, then. That annoys the hell outta me." Like nothing else.
He wouldn't be moving again. Paulie initially believed the boy would simply move again, without a doubt, but Adam seemed to say that with such finality that Paulie couldn't help but believe him. "You've been hiding the fact that you're a wizard?" Sheesh! How did he pull that one off?
Adam asked after house preferences and Paulie rolled his shoulders. "Not really. I'm just glad to be going to Hogwarts in the first place." Beauxbatons had just never really been his cup of tea.
So, they sorted out that they'd both be up for cards. Yet, Paulie glanced over at the carny and wondered if she were already too caught up in her game of solitaire. Eh, looks like they'd find out.

Popping one peanut after another into his mouth, and feeding the shells to his jarvey, Jethro tore his eyes away from the enclosure out front to the woman approaching. "Hey, Darlin! This tent right, here?" He looked over at it as if it was nothing special. "My other creatures be in there."
He EYED her thoughtfully for a moment. Hm. "You can head on in if ya like. Just don't go touchin anything." Not that she could, but boss man said he had to warn people. Meh.

Jethro eyed this one suspiciously. "What kinda questions they be, HMM?" Why was he having questions and not money to buy treats. The tall man sniffed the air, and then chattered silently to Juju Bee, blue eyes still on the man.

His grin widened, and he gave the young woman a thumbs up. "Your all set to go!" She seemed the nosey type, so he'd have to check up and make certain she wasn't snooping around things she wasn't supposed to be, but for now she was fine. It was this man that he was REALLY worried about.
Morrigan kept touring the inside of the tent, and she had to admit she was happy with what she saw. True, the pens were on the small side, but the animals looked happy enough with where they were. The wild winged horses had some old nicks and scars in their hides, but they'd healed cleanly. Excluding the streelers, none of the animals had gummy or unfocussed eyes, meaning none of them were sickly or drugged. This guy may have obtained his creatures legally, or he may not have, but they were all in sound health. Her job was done.
Though she really REALLY had to stop herself from trying to pet the winged horses. One of them reminded her of the bitter-hearted old nag they'd had on the farm for years, at least in spirit. It was probably a quarter of the age.

She handed over the elusive sickle, "D'you know a breeder? For the pups, I mean. I've never seen two so close in age before that weren't adults."

"A plimpy?" Morrigan wrinkled her nose, showing just what she thought of those little pests. "I guess you're right. Maybe." Maybe. She could just imagine bringing home a plimpy in a bag to show her mother. Ew.
"Well, time to feed the masses." As if she hadn't seen all the cuteness pawing at the fence closest to where she was, as soon as they'd seen their caretaker hand over the goodies. Morrigan climbed into the enclosure and knelt down, giggling as she was swarmed by fluff and fur.
Alex wandered around the carnival on her own. The last few days had been quite hectic and she definitely deserved a break. After walking for a while, she came upon a Wizard Petting Zoo. Interesting. She'd never really been to a zoo before..a muggle one nor a magical one. Ah, well. This should be good.
Alex entered the zoo and- "EWWWWWW!" What was that smell!? Uggh. The stench was just unbearable. She took a couple of steps back and took a deep breath. Geez, how did people go in there? Yuck.

Walking up to the zoo itself he began to smell the smell.Okay so it was terrible but he'd lived in the countryside for most of his childhood. He was used to it. Sorta. As he began to get closer he began to see the outline of several animals and began to lift his feet up to see them better.
He most certainly didn't see the women before him, complaining of the smell and stepped back. Well not till her foot connected with his. Ouch. "Oh sorry!" He said holding his hands up to catch her in case she fell.

Walking up to the zoo itself he began to smell the smell.Okay so it was terrible but he'd lived in the countryside for most of his childhood. He was used to it. Sorta. As he began to get closer he began to see the outline of several animals and began to lift his feet up to see them better.
He most certainly didn't see the women before him, complaining of the smell and stepped back. Well not till her foot connected with his. Ouch. "Oh sorry!" He said holding his hands up to catch her in case she fell.
Alex grimaced when she realized that she had stepped on something..she looked down and saw that it was actually someone's foot. "Oh gosh." She turned around immediately and apologized. "I'm so sorry. It's my fault. I should have been more careful..." Alex stopped mumbling for a second and looked at the guy before she continued, "Are you okay?"
She ran a hand through her hair. Ugh. She's so stupid! "Um. Sorry once again." She gave a small smile.

Wouldn't hurt to check her well being. After yet another few seconds, minutes? of silence he turned from the women and looked over the zoo once again. He even took a few steps away to continue his journey before turning back. "Do you want to join me?" He was sure Emily wouldn't mind.

Bradley gave a small laugh at her rambling, "I'm fine don't worry," He paused and gave her a dazzling smile, "Good thing your not wearing heels" He joked giving another small laugh. "Are you okay?" He then asked after a few more minutes.

She turned towards the zoo and couldn't help but wonder how people could actually roam around the place. It was just too..smelly. Now..what was she to do? Enter the zoo or have a look at the other places around the carnival? Just then..the guy invited her to join him. "Well.." Alex looked at the zoo and sighed. "Well, yeah. Sounds good." It wouldn't hurt to visit the zoo for a while..even if the place did smell. "I'm Alexandra but you can call me Alex." She extended her hand.
Jethro eyed this one suspiciously. "What kinda questions they be, HMM?" Why was he having questions and not money to buy treats. The tall man sniffed the air, and then chattered silently to Juju Bee, blue eyes still on the man.
"Well I was wondering how you keep so many exotic creatures, what do you feed them, where are they kept when not on display. I am just curious cause I have never seen things quite like this before. It really is quite an interesting organization and I imagine it must be rather facinating story how it all works.".

Brad moved his feet slightly on the muddy ground and wondered what he should say next, hmm. "Oh no it's fine, it's the past" He pressed holding his hands up to stop her talking and saying sorry any longer.
He turned towards the zoo again as he noticed Alex doing the same. It did look a bit grubby and yeah it stunk but that wasn't news to him. It was nice to come to the zoo again, the last time he had been to one he was far younger. Sigh. But now was his chance to go around with a friend, good. Brad turned to smile at Alex when she accepted and entended his hand, "I'm Bradley Wills"
