The Worple and Warmsley Magical Travelling CarnivalThe Worple and Warmsley Magical Travelling Carnival is here for the first time in Diagon Alley. Sponsored by all your favourite shops of Diagon Alley, the carnival is here for the summer! With magical rides and games, food stalls, knick-knacks and entertainment, this is a party for all ages that you won't want to miss.
Welcome one, welcome all to Bumper Brooms! Enjoy the most roughnecked fun you can have at our carnival without the risk of being sent to a healer don't quote us on that.
A group of fifteen brooms levitate 15 feet, or 4.5 metres, above the carnival; they are only lowered in between rides by the Bumper Brooms operator when excited carnival-goers want to hop on. Each broom can seat two people and is equipped with hand grips, foot holds, and invisible shields that can be used to safely bump into other riders. While the brooms are in the air, they are enclosed by an invisible, magical oval the size of a football field to keep any rider from getting bumped too far away. Any person shorter than 5 feet, or 1.5 metres, must be accompanied by a partner.
Do try not to fall off of your broom. Ride at your own risk. Happy bumping!
OOC: Feel free to interact with the Bumper Brooms Carnie Beatrice Balifrey (Lottiepot), chat, play and enjoy the ride!
Beatrice watched as people entered and left. The smile on their faces as they bumped into their friends. She leant back, not really watching at all that well. It was their responsibility if something happened, not hers. As long as they were having 'fun' then she couldn't care less.
She paid attention when someone approached her though. In her broad East end of London accent, the rhyming slang would've come if she had the opportunity. "That would be me" she stated, glancing at two spare brooms that were levitating a few inches off of the ground. "Those two will do" she pointed. "Go ahead. Just try not to break them" she stated.
"Great, thanks!" Sarah said, then to Amethyst, "Come on, let's go!"

"Thank you so much!" Amethyst smiled wide and couldn't help but hug the woman. She was REAL excited and she ran to grab Sarah's hand. "C'mon! She said as long as we don't break them, it's okay! Let's go!!!" She was like a puppy who hadn't seen anyone in months.
"Selina, don't be silly. You are the best best friend I have ever..." Kurumi began shaking her head, but her thoughts were immediately cut off as Selina continued to talk. Her face lost a bit of color and her jaw dropped. Yes, that had been one of her darkest hours thus far at Hogwarts, perhaps darker than when Adam had left, but Kurumi didn't wish pain on anyone. This was especially true about those she cared about. Not to mention she didn't want Selina to get in trouble on her behalf.
Kurumi squeezed Selina's hand. "Selina, I know you mean well, but beating Treyen with a Beater's bat won't help anything." Selina hadn't said that she would use such a method, but it seemed fitting that the red head would use a Beather's bat. "I...I just want to be friends again. I don't know what I did to him to make him hate me - other than telling him how I feel - but the eyes he showed me at the End of the Year Feast...it frightened me. It was as if I had ruined his life."
Kurumi wrapped her arms around herself. Friends...very close friends...would she really be satisfied with that? Well, she knew right now that she was miserable with the thought that he hated her. Treyen had been more than a friend to her over the past year. She needed him. He was another pillar in her life.
With a small smile on her face, Kurumi looked at brooms flying above them. Speaking of Beaters...
"So....shall we try out these brooms?"
"B-but but!" Selina tried to reason with Kurumi, but she knew that her best friend would not allow her to beat someone's head in with a beater bat... even if they deserved it. Her head dropped in defeat, "Fine... no bloody beater bats." Man she was really looking forward to teaching the boy a lesson, a well earned lesson.
Then she stuck her head up and shot her a quick smile, "Just a little bit? Like just a smack or two? I promise I'll only mess him up a tensy bit! COME ON KURUMI, puersse?"
She saw Kurumi go back off into her land of thoughts and she knew that maybe it was time for a distraction, "Yeah... the brooms sound good."
Sarah watched Amethyst will no small amount of amusement, part dog, too, maybe?
She followed her friend and stared at the broom. Was there a specific way of getting on it? Sarah shrugged mentally and swung one leg over, mounting it fairly decently in her opinion.

"Just as long as you don't mess up his smile," Kurumi replied in an only slightly sarcastic tone. Her cheeks DID, however, blush a bit at the memory of the Puff's sparkly smile. She really missed it. Her eyes locked back on Selina's and she realized that she probably should clarify that she was NOT being serious. "If you really want to help the situation, you could ask him why he hates me...we agreed to give each other space, cool down, and the next time I spoke to him he looked like he never wanted to see me again." What HAD happened between the Trophy Room and the feast? She had heard rumors...but Kurumi wasn't sure if she could believe those.
"Leave it to you to have us meet somewhere where there is flying involved," she joked. "I suppose....we need to pay?" But where and who did they pay.
Kurumi spun around on the spot once.
"E-E-Excuse me, w-we would like to ride..."

Kurumi nearly jumped when she heard someone address her. Or were they? They somewhat looked in her direction, but it wasn't anyone that she had spoken to before. Shyly, she played with a few strands of her long black hair.
"S-S-Sorry," she stammered, adding a slight bow at the end of her sentence. "I-I don't know and was actually wondering the same thing."

Amethyst hoped onto the broom opposite from the one Sarah had mounted. She fixed her position on it and smiled at Sarah. She had a small set back, but came back around after seeing the excitement on Sarah's face.

"E-E-Excuse me, w-we would like to ride..."
Selina nearly yelped in excitement when Kurumi said that she could teach Treyen a lesson if she did not mess up his smile. This was perfect! She could not believe that Kurumi was letting her do this. When she was done with Treyen he would be a very different little 'Puff he knew what happened when you messed with Selina Skylar's friends. She was, even though younger than all of her friends, a fierce lion mama... protecting of her cubs.
Crush her dreams why don't you? She couldn't hurt Treyen, that stunk, "Fine, I guess I'll talk to him. Although I like my plan better," she muttered at the end.

After finding a couple of Sickles in his pockets, Jack looked up and saw a girl, maybe thirteen or fourteen with black hair. "It's fine." He said, a small smile on his face. Then she did this little bow thing, and Jack didn't know how to react so he did one too. "I'm Jack." He said quickly, but in his head he was debating on whether or not to try and cover to cuts on his cheeks. if he did, they'd be really obvious, but if he didn't they'd still be obvious. Ugh. He just left them alone.

Kurumi hadn't really been expecting him to bow back, but she supposed that was better than him raising an eyebrow - which was the more common reaction she got in these situations. "It's nice to meet you Jack," she smiled. "I'm Kurumi, and this is my friend Selina."
Kurumi noticed the boy's somewhat awkward hand dance he did around his face and she wondered why when the answer became rather clear. He had several cuts on his cheeks, but it really wasn't her place to ask about them, right? After all, they had just met. In fact, she wasn't sure that she had ever seen him before.
"Are you...new around here?"

"Hi Kurumi," he said politely, "hi Selina." He noticed her eyes flicker to his cheeks, and quickly made a lie up in his head in case she asked. He didn't want to tell anyone yet, then again, he didn't really need to, they'd find out soon enough... But if she didn't bring it up, he wouldn't either.
"Relatively. Just starting Hogwarts this year." He replied honestly, giving her a quick smile of gratitude for not asking. Phew! "What about you?"

Did a child just HUG her? She blinked and then stared at the girl. "Err.. Yeah its fine" she shrugged it off trying to absorb the suns rays as she leant back in a carefree way.

Children.
Easily excited and definitely good business at Carnivals. They were always the first ones to the rides and they often paid extra to get a few more moments bashing their friends on the brooms.
Dangerous but Beatrice claimed herself not responsible if anything were to happen.
The older woman raised her eyebrow at the interaction between the three before answering their question. "4 sickles a ride. Lasts a few minutes or so. Depends when I get bored" she stated. "Pay a little extra and I may be able to squeeze in a couple more minutes or so" she raised her eyebrow once more and waited for their response.

Jack looked at his hands and saw there were only seven sickles. "I'll just take the standard one please." He said, handing her four sickles, feeling a little embarrassed about being so short on money.
Tyler wandered aimlessly into the lines of the bumper brooms. why not? he thought. He vaguely took notice of an exchange between two wizards and pulled four sickles from his pocket. He glanced up and saw that everyone was sitting two to a broom. His heart dropped, he had no one to ride with..

Selina looked next to her where her best friend was previously standing. To her surprise, however, the asian fourth year was gone. Where in Merlin's name had she run off too. The pair had just met up after a long couple of weeks without one another and she was already getting distracted and going all over the place. Was Selina really that boring? She had to have been.
It was then that she saw Kurumi was over talking to a boy with a plethora of cuts on his face. Did they know one another? Was he a carnie? No he couldn't have been... he looked not a day over twelve. She approached the pair just in time as Kurumi was introducing Jack to Selina and vice versa. Selina extended her hand and said, "Pleasure to meet you, Jack. Your going to be a first year? And well I'm a third year."
Then she heard a voice of someone who was beckoning the trio of them over to the stand. When they got over to the woman she told them the price of the tickets and that she would give them extra time if they payed her extra. Selina sighed and took out her wallet. Putting her hand up to the silence the other two she payed for all three of their tickets. The woman could have the 12 sickles, she didn't mind, "Here. Take it." Then, disgusted at the woman's behavior-- wasn't the Carnival for fun and joy? Why did they need to pay extra-- with the extra charge, Selina slipped the woman a few extra sickles, "There... is that all right?"

Kurumi smiled, more out of relief than anything else. She was glad that, for once, her assumptions about something hadn't been entirely off. "I'll be a 4th year this coming term," she smiled, nodding her head. "I'm in Gryffindor house, erm, I don't suppose you know about the different houses at Hogwarts, do you?" Kurumi didn't want to sound like she was talking gibberish at him. She remembered running into an older student when she was going into her first year. She hadn't understood a word he was saying - not to mention all the talk about the Sorting Hat. "Selina is in Gryffindor as well."
Kurumi's hands went to her pockets where she felt her badge. Oh yeah...THAT.

Just as Kurumi reached into her bag for her own coin purse, Selina's hand was in her face. She knew what that meant: Selina wasn't going to let either of them pay for it. "At least let me pay for some popcorn," she whispered to Selina as the girl handed over the coins.

Witsy gave him a pouted smile, "Fine, so be it," she managed to say. She pulled Tyler in effort for him to follow. Next ride then.

Jack's face instantly turned a purpley red. "Um, no." He said sheepishly, "I'm sixteen actually." Was that he baby faced? He had never felt so. He was only a few inches short of six feet, but maybe his cuts made him look younger or something. He decided not to take it as an insult, he usually didn't, but still blushed considerably. He was also embarrassed because she had enough money to pay for extra time, whereas he didn't. But it wasn't his fault, his mother had his money and she was off somewhere, hopefully far away.

After realising what Selina did, Jack wanted to make sure she didn't pay for him, but if it wasn't her original intention, then he would sound stupid, so he said nothing.
