Hello, I'm Whit and I have written drabbles many times while here on SS. Me and Suzy (Suziella) decided to do a joint thread together. These drabbles will cover our school characters, Esme and Juno Darcy, identical twins who were both sorted into Hufflepuff. We hope you enjoy them.

Lying in bed, Esme was trying to get some sleep but something was keeping her awake no matter how hard she tried to ignore it. Terrified, she pulled the blankets over her head and said a quiet prayer to herself that it would stay outside.

Hoot. Hoot.

Dare she throw caution to the wind and take a small peek?

Slowly one eye emerged from under the blanket before darting back underneath. From what she could see there was no immediate threat: the bird wasn't even in sight. That didn't help her feel better.

Still scared, she ran to Juno's bedroom.

Juno quietly watched her father from the cracked open door. He always went straight to his bedroom when he had a bad day.

She watched as the silvery strands of memories were pulled from his temple by his wand and deposited into a tiny flask. She always wondered how that worked; taking memories out of your head. Did it cause headaches? Did he loose the memories? Well, that answer was obvious, but why did he want to get rid of them? Did he only put bad memories in there?

One day, Juno would find the secrets in her father’s Pensieve.

One of the biggest disappointments that Esme had faced in her life was the fact that Professor Cassie had left Hogwarts.

As much as she understood the decision and felt happy for her favourite Professor, she missed the woman. The biggest sting, however, was the replacement that the school had offered. There was no way that she was going to attend a Divination lesson taught by a smelly old hag. Especially not a hag who had threatened her sister and probably wanted to cook them all in a big pot.

Maybe a strong curse would put an end to her.

Juno and Esme were playing Hide and Seek one day, and it was Juno’s turn to hide. It was just too hot to play outside this summer, so they had to be creative about what to do inside the house.

Though the girls were 14, it was still fun to see how long it took them to find one another with their twin telepathy. Juno decided to hide in their parent’s closet. It was huge and had a lot of holes to hide in.

That’s when she saw a broken old wand in a glass case in her father’s closet.

If there was one thing that made Juno angry, it was when their brother messed with her hair.

Esme didn't even need to ask her sister what was wrong because the expression on her face as she entered the compartment said more than enough. "We'll get back at him," she said with a smile as she patted the seat beside her. It was another year of Hogwarts and there was plenty of time for them to plot revenge.

Honestly she didn't know why River kept trying because they managed to best him every time.

This was going to be fun.

Juno slowly walked up to the stool. She was so scared and nervous. Everyone in her family was sorted into Hufflepuff, including her twin sister, Esme, who just sat down at her new house table.

What if she was too mean for Hufflepuff? She wouldn’t have minded Gryffindor, and knew she wasn’t smart enough for Ravenclaw. But she absolutely did not want to be in Slytherin. She listened to the quiet voice debating on where to put her. She silently begged for Hufflepuff.

After about 2 minutes, that felt like years, the sorting hat finally yelled out, “Better be HUFFLEPUFF!”

Sighing, Esme crumpled up the piece of paper that she had been writing her essay on. She just couldn't deal with history because it was so boring and pointless. Could she not do something else instead?

Her eyes landed on Juno, and giggling she tossed the wad towards her sister. "Let's go outside and make snow angels!" So much better than homework and even though it was cold outside they would get some much needed fresh air. Being cooped up in the castle for too long always made it harder for her to think properly.

Time for a sister date.

After a long morning of training, Juno decided to take a break on the couch with a sandwich and a fashion magazine. She loved fashion, despite loving to fight; she could talk fashion with the most preppy girls. Her look was very edgy but sometimes she would borrow her sisters more floral outfits. That was when their parents mixed them up the most.

Suddenly, her sandwich was swiped out of her hand. She glared over her magazine to see River. “Give. Me. My. Sandwich.” Her brother took a huge bite.

“You jerk!” Jumping up, she gave him a good slap.

Sighing, Esme settled down in one of the chairs by the common room fire so that she could get some studying in. OWLs were taking place at the end of term and that meant a lot of reading; something that was far from her favourite thing. At least Juno was there so that she had company.

Flipping through the textbook, her eyes landed on a passage about Harry Potter. Not surprising since this was a book on famous twentieth century wizards.

“Do you ever wonder what it would be like to speak Parseltongue?” she mused out loud to her sister.

This Halloween costume was just plain hilarious. She could barely walk in the giant dinosaur suit, which was why she left early, but she knew it would get some laughs from…well, everyone. With a huge grin on her face she left early for her first class of the day.

This was going to be interesting. She waddled out of the girls dorm, into the common room, and then out into the corridor. It was a good thing they were on the first floor and she only had to go outside to the greenhouses.

Herbology was going to be fun today!

It was hard to resist looking towards the door every few seconds, but somehow Esme managed to restrain herself. It didn't help that they had chosen a seat facing the entrance.

"Relax, Esme. It isn't as if he is running late." To emphasize her point, Juno showed her watch to her sister. There was still plenty of time for Oliver to spend the last day at Hogsmeade with them. The anxiousness was probably due to Esme's crush which she STILL failed to tell him about. "You know, I really think he would-"

"I don't stand a chance with him, Juno."

After the visit at Hogsmeade with Oliver, Juno just couldn’t understand why Esme wouldn’t tell him how she feels about him. They were perfect together. But she wasn’t going to force her sister and Oliver together, no matter how badly she wanted to, it wasn’t her place, or quite frankly, her business.

This caused Juno to wonder what she would do if she had a crush on someone, particularly someone that happened to be a friend. Would she just tell them everything? Would she keep pretending?

She shook her head. No matter what the situation, Juno couldn’t act the part.

Ancient Runes was one of those subjects that Esme wanted to drop but felt compelled to continue studying for the challenge. Maybe she was weird, but the whole aspect of using rune stones to predict the future intrigued her. She was a sucker for trying to see into the future even if it meant that her brain became all hugger-mugger.

Frowning, she found herself reading the same passage in the textbook over and over again. So boring.

It was a huge relief when Juno interrupted her thoughts.

"You want to get some food?"

When DIDN'T Esme want to get food??

When she walked into the classroom, Juno didn’t know she would meet him. He had dark brown hair, beautiful grey eyes, and holy crap muscles. He was so buff he didn’t look like a seventh year, that was for sure. He took her by surprise; the Ravenclaw boy was very sweet, and kind. She liked that. He was also a pretty good partner for projects. He was a wonderful artist.

But she had just met him, how could she be thinking about him this much already? Leon Kennedy. She hoped to see him again.

Astronomy would never be the same.

It was already the end of term feast, though Esme wasn't sure how it happened so fast. She was excited at the prospect of the summer holidays, but was sad thinking about all her friends who were graduating.

At that moment, one of the people she had just been thinking about came over.

"Hey, Esme," Olly said, sitting on the other side of her before starting to pile fried onions onto his plate. Just as she was about to return the greeting, all the onions ended up spilling into her lap.

And there was Juno on the floor in hysterics.

Juno was on cloud nine. She had just had her first real and official date with Leon. Yeah, she had met up with him a few times outside of class. They also ran together every morning before school started, but this time it was different.

This time he asked her to be his girlfriend. He had a beautiful picnic set up for her by the Great Lake, and she could tell he had something on his mind. When he finally asked her, she was beyond happy. She couldn’t believe it.

Then he kissed her, and her heart skipped a beat.

"AAAAACHOOO!!"

Esme had just arrived at University, and already felt like crap. Though it wasn't learning that had her made her feel that way... Not YET at least.

Why did everyone have to wear perfume? Why had she forgotten to take potion for this problem? Frowning, she thought that maybe she could ask Juno to brew some for her. Or she could buy it from the store. Her sister was lucky because she wasn't allergic to anything, but somehow SHE had developed an allergy. That was one of the mysteries of life just like how she was the shorter twin.
