94- Allergic

This was ridiculous. Completely nonsensical in fact.

He was sitting in a muggle emergency room because he’d taken Tylenol. A medication he’d been assured no-one had allergic reactions too. Yet here Reid was. He’d only had a headache to begin with, and a slightly sore arm from where he’d been hit during one of the stunts. Now however he was much worse.

His hands were swollen, a rash had broken out around his mouth and earlier he’d actually stopped breathing. All because the doctor believed that no-one was allergic to Tylenol. Except Reid, who quite clearly was allergic to Tylenol.

60. Joke

This had to be a joke. His parents could not have seriously arranged a marriage for him with that spoilt little brat who didn’t know how to do anything for herself. She was an annoyance of the worst kind and Reid didn’t care that she was quite pretty and that she fit in with his friends, or that she could actually be considered a friend.

They weren’t even dating, and nor would they. Because this was just some twisted joke on his parents part. It must be April Fools or something. Reid couldn’t even contemplate them being serious about this.

5. Astronomy

‘Here, it’s all set up so that you can see the Comet,’ Reid said.

It was a beautiful night, there was a nearly clear sky and a comet would be passing Earth, it wouldn’t be visible to the naked eye but with the telescope you would be able to view the once every few hundred years event.

Plus it was kind of nice just the two of them, which would end tomorrow when they were expected back in LA for a show. Where Reid would go back to being the slightly aloof but charismatic boyfriend everyone else saw him as.

8. Potions

Being with her made him feel like he’d swallowed a whole cauldron of Felix Felicis.
Amortentia could not make him feel anymore love for a person than he did for her.

Not even Cupid Crystals could sway his affections away from her, although he wasn’t sure she hadn’t used them at some point.

Sometimes when he was with her Reid felt as if he’d taken a Forgetfulness Potion, because he routinely forgot everything but her.

Seeing her when he was upset or sick had the same results as Pepperup.

If he could bottle Sienna the other potions would be unnecessary.

56. Fight

‘We’re over Sienna. I told you before that I love Rachel now! I don’t understand why you have to act like you have been but I wont lose her. I may have defended your actions while she was here because I somewhat understand your reasons but I wont tolerate it! If you continue to behave like this you’ll never see me again. We are nothing anymore and I don’t want you to come near me unless absolutely necessary. I can’t stand the sight of your right now.’ Reid’s words were spoken calmly, he couldn’t be bothered to truly fight her.

91. Future

When asked about his future Reid had no idea what to say. Truthfully he didn’t see one for himself. He was simply attempting to live each day as it came. He had no plan, and therefore he was lost. Lost in a sea of people and choices that were meant to define him, but really meant nothing.

At one point he’d seen his future in his wife’s eyes. But that had been years ago, back when he’d dreamed of greatness.

Reid had lost his future the minute he let go of Rachel to marry Sienna like their parents had arranged.

25. Sorting Hat

Reid had walked out on his parents after they’d attempted to engage him in conversation about Hogwarts yet again. Reid had no desire to learn about the four houses, the fact that you were sorted by a hat, which was so originally named a Sorting Hat, and that they had better grounds than his current school.

Reid cared nothing for any of those things because Hogwarts would never have his friends, they wouldn’t allow his pets and they most certainly didn’t have Sienna.

Not having Sienna was the thing that Reid hated the most about having to move to England.

57. Goblin

Both of the two year old boys were dressed as Goblins for their nursery school play. Truthfully neither had any idea what they were meant to be doing but they knew that it was going to be fun.

There were so many pictures from that night. Some of them with only one boy, some with both and some with their parents, who looked down at both little boys with love and pride.

Now there was only one boy, and his parents weren’t proud or loving. That family was gone, but it was comforting to know that they’d loved him once.

23. Telescope

He was nineteen tomorrow and his parents were throwing him a huge party. It would be his first year back to working full time, and seeing his friends in over a year. But he couldn’t be happy. Which was why Reid was using his telescope to stare up into the heavens instead of celebrating.

A star began to fall from the sky and Reid yearned to catch it, even though he knew it to be impossible to catch a falling star, despite what that song said. For Reid falling stars were a reminder of the brother he missed so much.

22. Kneazle

Valentine and Serenity stared at the Kneazle in awe, pressing their tiny faces to the window of the store to get a closer look, before turning to face their father.

Reid groaned as he saw the nearly identical looks on his children’s faces. They were so hopeful and pleading that Reid knew he’d be coming home with a Kneazle, most likely the exact one that they were looking at now, at some point within the next month.

Two weeks later Reid was in the pet store buying a Kneazle as well as all the paraphernalia that went along with Kneazles.

41. Thestrals

“I hoped never to see a Thestral after I learnt that you could only see them if you saw someone die. I suppose that I’m lucky to not have seen one until this point. I missed Alexander’s death after all since I was sick as well. Now I just hope that whatever other children I may be blessed with never see Thestrals.” Reid said, his voice trembling slightly as he stared at the baby Thestral he didn’t know lived on his land, having never been able to see them before.

The only consolation was that Sienna had survived the ordeal.

97. Dictionary

Reid’s eyes scanned the page until he found what he was looking for. Tangy – to have a strong, piquant flavour or smell. Whatever piquant meant. Sure he was already looking in the dictionary so he could see what it meant but he didn’t have time. He had a point to prove!

That point being that no matter what Sienna thought about always being right, on this occasion she was wrong! Reid had been using the word correctly when she’d asked him how her salad tasted and he’d answered with tangy.

Take that girls who insist that they are never wrong!

68. Roar

The wind was a steady roar in his ears and it’s ferocity was causing the sea to beat violently against the rocks that they were filming on. Everyone was starting to regret deciding to film the scene today but only a few hours ago the wind had simply been a pleasant breeze and the sea was the picture of tranquillity.

It was during a take that Reid slipped on the rock and tumbled over the edge to the alarm of the crew. Reid hit the water barely conscious and the struggle to surface was nearly more than he could take.

70. Spook (continuation of Roar)

Reid’s fall had apparently spooked his parents, especially after Reid lost consciousness almost as soon as he was pulled from the water. And the fact that he’d somehow managed to break his ribs, hadn’t helped with that fact. Unfortunately, whenever Reid was harmed in some way his parents took out their worry on each other.

Meaning, that while Reid was attempting to sleep in his bed in the hospital all he could hear were his parents snapping at each other about which one was to blame. Next thing you know they’d be blaming him for having the audacity to fall.

73. Warn

Reid had meant to warn Sienna about Rachel coming to stay with him for the Summer but the filming schedule was so hectic he hadn’t had time to do so. And now it was too late as he’d picked Rachel up from the airport and brought her back to the hotel where she was now standing face to face with Sienna. Oops.

“Sienna this is Rachel, my girlfriend. Rach this is Sienna, a friend and the leading lady in the film,” Reid introduced, his eyes clearly conveying to Sienna that if she said anything there would be hell to pay.

72. Vex (continuation of Warn)

Sienna was really starting to vex Reid now. Clearly she hadn’t been paying attention to him when he’d given her the look while he introduced her and Rachel. Because if she had Reid was sure she wouldn’t be attempting to flaunt all their scenes, and their past relationship in Rachel’s face.

It didn’t help that none of his friends appeared to like Rachel either. Although Reid suspected that came from loyalty to Sienna and the fact that most of them were currently dating her friends, than having anything against Rachel.

Either way this was going to be a long Summer.

66. Pace (continuation of Vex)

Reid began to pace as he listened to his friends and Sienna. He got what they were saying but he didn’t want to hear it.

“I love her and I’m willing to give up everything to be with her. Everything. I don’t care if you don’t like her. And yes, I understand that Sienna fits in better, that Sienna is everything I used to love, and still should. And Si, I will always love you, you were everything to me for the past few years. But… you aren’t who I want anymore and you need to accept that we’re over.”

71. Untie

Reid had never realized that a seven year old would be able to tie knots so well. They were so well tied in fact that Reid was struggling to untie them, and if it weren’t for the fact that they were Serenity’s favourite shoe laces he’d be cutting them off so they could get the shoes off her feet.

But since they were her favourite pair, Reid was painstakingly attempting to untangle them. This was a true testament to how much he loved Serenity, because even though she was now getting on his last nerve he completed his assigned task.

77. Cheerful

If anyone were asked to describe how Reid was the day his world almost came crashing down they would have to respond with cheerful. It had been a rather good day all things considered. Yes they’d been filming for a long time and some of the scenes weren’t turning out correctly, but they were well within their schedule and so everyone was as relaxed as they could be.

Reid was the happiest of them all until they drove past the site of the accident on their way back to the hotel. The accident that nearly ripped everything away from him.

99. Trunk

Sienna had been searching through one of Reid’s trunks when she found the papers. Papers that would have helped to legally dissolve their marriage. Papers that were signed and dated a few weeks prior to Sienna’s discovery that she was pregnant. Divorce papers.

Reid had been going to divorce her before they found out she was with child. Things had been tense between them during those few months but never had Sienna realized just how bad things were. Just how close they had been to a final separation.

She slammed the lid of the trunk as she began to sob.

83. Fearful

Reid could see the fear radiating from his families eyes and he yearned to be able to assure them that everything would be alright. But he couldn’t. The reality of his situation had been described in gruesome detail to he and Sienna and they both knew that the chance he’d make it off the table was slim to none.

Two hours later a doctor came from the operating theatre and told his family the news. Their fears had been valid. Reid had suffered too much internal damage and he’d bled out on the table. Reid was dead at forty seven.

96. Socks

Reid and Alexander stifled giggles as they heard their nanny calling for them. They were playing hide and seek so it wouldn’t do to give away their positions. As it were they were hiding in the dirty clothes basket under some of their clean socks. It had been emptied out a few hours ago giving both boys enough room to fit and hide.

Their nanny however wasn’t having any fun. She’d lost her two charges in their own home. She’d only turned her back on the boys for a minute and now she was probably going to lose her job.

100. Homework

They wanted him to be in a movie called Homework. Even at fourteen Reid knew that was a stupid title for a film. No-one would want to see a film called Homework. Or at least Reid certainly wouldn’t.

He did however want to be in the film. If one ignored the title the script was actually pretty interesting, and it was an indie movie. It was being directed and produced by people who he’d worked with before so he knew the movie would turn out well.

Now if only they’d change the title from Homework to something, anything, more interesting.

86. Daring

Reid didn’t know why he liked her. She’d never interested him all that much before. Then again she’d been his ex best friend’s girl before. But that probably wouldn’t have stopped Reid from finding her interesting, especially since he’d been the one to introduce the two of them.

Maybe it was because he’d helped her when she was helpless? Because she seemed more daring now? Because he’d gotten to know what was beneath the surface of the young socialite?

All Reid knew was that Sienna was suddenly a lot more appealing to him than she had been three months ago.

55. Egg on

Reid had been about to tuck into brunch at Sienna’s house when he realized that for him the food was inedible. He’d asked for eggs benedict on toast, it was easy enough for the staff to accomplish he’d thought. Apparently he’d been wrong. They couldn’t follow simple orders apparently.

Due to the placement of the egg on top of the toast he hadn’t realised that underneath there was bacon. He hadn’t realized it was there until he’d nearly placed the food into his mouth. He hadn’t asked for bacon and he was a vegetarian so his food was completely ruined.

54. Dare

Reid was fuming. How DARE his parents try to take his money just because he wouldn’t do what they wanted him too? He’d worked hard for that money! Not all of it had been an allowance from them. An allowance which they’d cut off as soon as they learned that Reid was serious about someone that was “beneath him” in every possible way.

It was their fault that he was even dating Rachel anyway. He wouldn’t have even met her if not for them forcing him to move to England and he wouldn’t leave her no matter what they did!
