What in Merlin's Beard is going on?! Term 8
 

You wake up to hear someone screaming about an attack on the castle and several students missing. You think, "What? But I was only sleeping for two hours or something!"

To add to your misery, it wasn't your character taking a snooze, it was you catching up on the wonders of real life.

Well, never fear, this thread will keep you informed on the latest goings-on in the RP (out of character, of course, so be careful as your student character may not have complete access to this lovely information :wink: ). Check this post and the one two posts under it (by She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho, otherwise known as Nadia) whenever you feel lost, and if there isn't enough there, here's where you can ask people to fill you in.

The school year began in total loss of control. Following Headmistress Leiden's announcement of a series of new school rules, Professor Borr was shamelessly attacked by three students in front of the staff and, virtually, the whole school body. They were supsiquently dragged out into the hallway (one physically) by prefects Terry of Hufflepuff and Jaren of Slytherin. Lecturing followed.

LAINLEY ALERT! She was spotted in the DADA classroom, in the halls, the Great Hall, then was chased down by Borr and Perry. Her wherebouts now are unknown. :dizzy:

Anonomous letters have been dropped all over the school (destroyed by Shwame) and in Hogsmede (most picked up by Slytherin Prefect Jaren).

In other news, Ravenclaw Prefect Ashlie and Professor Virohsa have agreed (sort of) to work together. Jaren is reporting on the note-droppers and his suspicions on the matter.

O'Malley's Fine Irish Pub is now off-limits to ALL students.

There was a rather...odd...three-way brawl in the hallways, in which Selena was a victim. It seems to have done something to her head, she's not making much sense, and has to be bound and restrained while people wait for the nurse to arrive.

Mithos of Ravenclaw began passing out some rather...outrageous...bulletins in the halls. He was apprehended by Zekke, Slytherin Prefect, and carted off to Professor Perry's office, singing. Ashlie, Ravenclaw Prefect, read the note and pretty much exploded at him. Mithos is now in detention.

Lee of Hufflepuff seems to have lost his mind, and is currently in Shwame's office.

Professor Melita went to see Headmistress Leiden about "something in the dungeons" and appeared to be rather off-character. Leiden dragged McAiken along for the ride, too. Later Leiden left with a box for her office and McAiken, seeming to be rather angry, told off a few students in the hall then proceeded to head to O'Malley's to drink. Currently he's talking to Rae, about an alliance with professors.

A mysterious person was flitting through Hogsmede...

CAUTION!! Professor Perry interrogated his last DADA class on the wherebouts of the Book of Mysteria + some other things, with the aid of Veritaserum *and* the Imperious Curse, but then he Obliviated the class after that. So unless your character noticed something strange as they left the class or sometime after that, YOU WOULD HAVE NO INDICATION OF WHAT MAY HAVE TRANSPIRED! PERIOD!

SAMMO was busted. The Detention Halls are now full to bursting. Heedless are the students who have tried to barge into O'Malleys to have a chat with their former profs, and Shwmae is currently about to bite Bree's head off.

Rae is planning to bust the remaining professors out of the dungeons. (ooc information!)

HUBERT IS FREE! FREE I TELL YOU! (Does an odd victory jig, notices people watching, stops and hides behind the nearest sofa)

Professor Airlia is dead. (ooc information unless someone who knew told you--and those people are the Prefects and some of the staff).

There has been some rather crazy scheming both in O'Malley's Pub (professors) and the Prefect's Lounge (students). Both events will tie into each other, it seems.

Zekke of Slytherin is not taking the news of Airlia's death too well...

- "Welcoming" Feast: Students didn't receive the new Headmistress' new rules too happily or healthily. Other than body-language, whispered complains and other such quite innofensive reactions, the ever-so-hyperactive Hufflepuff Lee :D and his two friends Alex, from the Slytherin house, and Kass, from Ravenclaw, visited the Staff Table. In one swift succession of actions, and a lil bit of waving of wands, Borr ended with an engorged head and foot, courtesy of our friends Lee and Kass. Prefects Jaren of Slytherin and Terry of Hufflepuff intervened taking the group out. Alex and Lee are now disarmed.

NEWSFLASH: Former Professor Lainey has entered Hogwarts, though the dungeons, into the hallways, irrupted into DADA class, back to Hallways and heading to the Staff Table. She was looking terribly beaten up and, needless to say, in need of a doctor. After calling for Rae and Hendrik as if convinced they were there, giving a rather cryptic message, she was finally caught by the Minitry officials and "said-to-be" taken to the Hospital Wing though a not-so-secret-now passageway. Never arrived.

THE NOTES: Found over the place and picked up by Professor Shwmae and Prefect Jaren. Content of the note unknown but from some very few, selected, lucky(?!) people. Scapegoats are Prefect Terry and Lee from Hufflepuff and Nadia from Slytherin. [You can find an "Appeal from the MoM" in your Common Rooms regarding this issue.]

HOGSMEADE: Leiden is no longer giving permissions to it. We are possibly at risk of loosing this faculty facility. Oh and if you were wondering, the cryptic message from Professor Lainey has been delivered by Hufflepuff Prefect Terry... didn't arise much of a reaction to tell you the truth. UPDATE: Double-delivery. Now from Professor Zoa who, next to Virohsa and Rierdan, started their own invvestigation of sorts.

Professor Rierdan is visiting Cassandra Rae at Hogsmeade for answers.

Virohsa vs Shwmae: To decide the fate of Dru of Slytherin, accussed to be the author of the infamous notes. Also both professors have more in common than you think, being the two ones to threaten two students to send them to prison for their nosey actions <IMG class=inlineimg title=">_

Meanwhile Amaris Chaos (Gryffindor) and Dru (Slytherin) doing their own investigation have found an article about our Herbology Professor Virohsa. (Authenticity of the article to be confirmed.)

Students Organizations: SAMMO first (& second?) meeting over. Ashlie has made ties with professor Virohsa while Rierdan seem to get along with Terry. CoA (Conspirators in Action) have finally stopped trying to drop notes. Mithos, alone or not we don't know, has started his own note dropping of a publication of his (sentence *cough* to be given in Perry's office)

Update: To make a long story short, in the space of RP hours Melita dragged Leiden to the dungeons, who later dragged Transfiguration Professor McAiken, who was forced by the second to do something, and later Leiden came out holding a black box. The scroll contained in said box was burnt in the headmistress office minutes later --> ATTENTION: Only OOC information.

DADA, Veritaserum & Memory Charms: As above says, some students got poisoned with Veritaserum - Martha, Kristie and Terry, the latter being the most questioned. Though there was fighting, action and lack thereof, Anti-Ministry Org SAMMO was discovered and the fates of its members (all but one) has been decided; you can breath, they are not getting expelled. While this happens, however, the members started getting ready for the worse (without need, it seems) alerted from two sourcess (Nadia's will remain unnamed for the sake of RPing)
Needless to say, after Perry was done with the Veritaserum AND using of the Imperious Curse, she erased all of the students Memories.


And we reach the resolution of the story. The small group of professors got to rescue the two professors, Lainey and Riddle, and even Leiden, blasting and stunning their way to reach them. Airlia, however, died before anything could happen and McAiken transfigured her body in the scroll of parchment Leiden burnt, as we know. Jade was subsuded and dragged to the Great Hall, where she was presented by Rae to the school body along with a brief explanation. Students and others that tried help were stunned or stunned others. But now everybody was summoned to the Great Hall for this explanation, and while we wait for this certain fate of the Headmaster/mistress position. And over the students' frustration, Zekke gave a beautiful, touching speech.

Rae has been made Headmistress of the School to replace Leiden. (Not to Shwmae's amusement.) The explanation given is that the school, as an entity, has choosen her when it let her in to Leiden's Office despite its Ancient Protection. Most and the very majority of the school is taking it as good news (lol).

And we still wonder where all the Ministry Professors are right this moment....

Riddle has left the building, rather quietly.

Complete and utter chaos has broken out at the Staff Table. And it's only the first day.

quick update:

lee provoked borr to hit him with his cane and he did. then lee cast a spell on borr to enlargehis head and alex pointed her wand at his forhead. jaren got peeved and now we're going to have a chat with him.

Also there should be two Daily Prophet articles in your Common Room that helps explain this with some biased detail :shifty: .

The short story is that the Ministry of Magic has taken over Hogwarts after a serie of "accidents" in past years blamed on the former staff: Two terms ago 8 student died, the then three years ago Hogwarts was invaded by Death Eaters, and the year after that a student and three professors died. Do read Hogwarts, a History for information on the Dark Lord Voldemortist, the sucessor of Voldemort, for more info.

So in short, this are, so said, security meassures.


EDIT: Well, in a way, they ARE InCharacter. But they are going to be expulsed any minute now if they keep like that./ And in a way I'm almost surprised there's absolutely no one disapproving of Borr hitting a student in the head with a cane. That's not that IC either now it is :shifty: ?

Then again, your charry might have heard about the incident with Shwmae walking into them, though desguised as a study group, and might have suspected what it really was...
My advise is that you make your character start its own investigation and see if you can catch SAMMO's people's attention - impress them & maybe find about it :shifty:
Then you RPG from there ;)

A rather large group of Slytherins were sent with a note to their Head of House after found in the Hallways *hugging* after a rather harsh exchange of words in the Common Rooms. I don't know if to make an update of this.

BTW: Somebody would explain to me why Adriel was supposedly bleeding? There as no Psychical harm made, and I was there to tell *nodnod* //-- EDIT: Oh, thanks Reas. Guess the bleeding was in the corridors, not the Commons, then... *sigh* OK.

The notes: Better luck next time guys. One was dropped while I was sat at the Ravenclaw Table and has thus made me suspicious. As a result I (Rhiane) am searching for more.

And you thought loosing points, detention and expulsion were bad? (Well... my character believed so...)


EDIT: Nadia (my charry) and Amaris Chaos were threatened, by Shwmae and Virohsa respectively, but there was certain hint that all older students might follow the same fate.

Okay. What just happened in the DADA class is an outrage. Perry played some game in which the students had to drink some water that was laced with veretaserum (from what I gather) and he started to interrogate Terry, eventually using the Imperius (sp) curse on her. And Terry spilled.

But to clarify things, that shouldn't have happened. All students who joined SAMMO signed a paper which would prevent this happening. Francis and Ashlie rigged the paper with many spells that would keep the student from telling when being asked, no matter what means were used, be it Veretaserum or the Imperius. They used really advanced magic (Ashlie WAS a sixth year then, after all) which eventually made Frany really sick. But Terry shouldn't have been able to tell Perry. She was supposed to be overcome with temporary amnesia.

Meh. [/end serious rant]

To your peace of mind, Ashlie, Terry fighted the potion back. It happens that Imperious and Veritaserum can be fought and with a similar way. So no matter if Perry used one or the other, if Terry was able to fool one she could fool the other. In he end, yes, she lied a bit; see the part about reasons behind SAMMO.

Either way, you should specify what spells are in that paper and see how can they work. After all, if she can't speak of SAMMO at all, then how can she speak in meetings? And if she can't speak consciously of SAMMO secrets, then the spell shouldn't work with Veritaserum. All in all, the purple spots did appear in Terry's face, again for your peace of mind.

And. If it makes you feel better. My counterpart did everything in her power to stop it. :console: Sorry.

One very confused Professor would very much like to know why she's being accused and what in the name of Merlin, is going on.

Ask and you shall receive: Last DADA class Pofessor Perry locked the classroom, poisoned a couple of students with Veritaserum, forced information out of them (about the Book of Mysteria and SAMMO and its members) including the use of the Unforgiable Imperio, and then Obliviated them all, like that.

Terry Weasley principally was questioned and told names, some things about SAMMO, and somehow managed to fight the potion AND the curse back (*see the Reality thread, issue before last) enough to add a little lie about SAMMO; that it was being run by Shwmae as leader to take Leiden from her position and and be named Headmistress instead.

And that's a long story made short. Now students are seeing how they can work though Perry's Obliviator spell, and we are discussing how legitimate that is in the Reality thread.

SAMMO skips punishment once more! In a unexpected showing of merciness from Leiden, she is surprisingly not fulfilling her threat of rule number 10 and the boosted SAMMO member are not being expulsed. First page of the thread to be updated.

*clean sweat from forehead* Phieff! And here we were already worrying...

UPDATE: The Mysterious figure is back and walking though the streets of Hogsmeade, possibly just in front of professor's Shwmae's very nose 0_0

I thought I would make a small update:

- "Dinner" Meeting at O'Malley's (Pewett, McAiken & Zoa, plus three students, still taking place)

Only Slytherin knows since it's happening on their Common Rooms: it's a study group on Defense Magic taught by one of the Slytherin Prefects. The initials stand for two different names which I cannot quite recall right now... (I will edit later)

Without much trouble, yes, the mysterious figure of the name Jade Surreaux has entered the castle and into the Headmistress' Office. Leiden is now being subjected to CRUCIO!

Wow. Another year has come and gone already. And those Ministry officials finally get booted out of school. Everyone, we can let out a big sigh of relief now.

Anyway, thanks to all the mods and admins and students for another wonderful term of roleplay. It was tons of fun to watch everything go down and I'm looking forward to next year very much.

One quick question: Are we allowed to know who played our lovely Ministry teachers now? I have several suspicions that NEED to be confirmed. I'm dying to know.

I'm kind of afraid to tell you because... they could always come back. Well... some of them are for sure NOT coming back, but it's up to everyone individually. We'll see.

You'll know when the terms starts, but if we do, I'm absolutely certain that we'll be starting from square one. Our ref will pick captains and teams and there will be new rules and everything.

So i take it if we were the captain for our house the previous terms, we probably won't get it again?

I have to agree with Babydriver. I immensely enjoyed the term & can't wait for the next one. It was wonderful getting to know everyone, making new friends, etc. :)
