"Now, how do I do it? Concentration, focus, and talent are the keys. I studied every book I could from the Library on Animagi. I spoke at length with my great aunt who was one. She taught this subject years ago at Hogwarts. She was my Transfiguration Professor. She was Minerva McGonagall. I practiced the spell over and over with no result until the day of my NEWT exam. I didn't give up even when McGonagall reconmended I do so. I am now going to allow you to try the spell. You won't success but I want to check how you pronounce the incantation."

Nadia breathed a sigh. Change into an animal? Shouldn't be too difficult. Of course, minus the wandless part... and the part where you should be able to do that and change completely your appearance without loosing your human capacities... Nadia cleared her throat and attempted relaxing though she was quite visibly nervous. Then, eyes closed she pronounced -

"Anaymayshus!"

Llewellyn gaped at the professor, and consulted his transfiguration textbook. After a long time thinking to himself, he made the decision not to attempt the spell. The book seemed to indicate it was a dangerous spell with numerous unforseen circumstances. As such, Llewellyn simply sat there, observing the rest of the class.

This is it! Jenna was most anxious to learn to become an animagus. She hoped she would one day become one. Sitting up a little straighter in her chair, she held her wand loose in her hand. She found her centter of focus, closing her eyes, recalling anything she read in those dozens of transfiguration books, focusing...focusing...

"Animagus!" She breathed, hardly more than a whisper. She felt something inside her bubble, liek an exciting drop. She also felt something twitch in her eyes. But that seemed to be it. She opened her eyes slowly.

Rosa tried to remember the exact incantation. 'any-maggus!' she said. She wondered what you had to do except for saying that to really turn into an animagus. she looked at the pages about animagi and said again 'any-maggus'

Nadia opened one eye. Looked about. Nothing had happened, right? She moved to feel her hands and then neck, then just to reassure herself, she pulled an object from her pocket and looked herself into it (undoubtly a small mirror). Noticing she seemed one hundred per sent OK, she sighed relieved and looked about. Nothing had happened anywhere. Well, it occurred to her something... Something that should give away what was her answer to the previous question. Maybe afterwards she shall ask.

Pocketing her wand, only to be sure she was not conducting any magic though it - she shouldn't anyways. She moved to stand securely on her feet before she tried again, only the pronounciation - though she feared so bad that she would turn into something without control...

"Ah-nay-may-jus!" she pronounced. This time she was sure she had it wrong. She moved to check on her book, then tried again, "Anaimajus!" (ooc: I'm changing "i" for "ai" as it would sound in Spanish, so that would be accent-problems)

She thought she had completely lost the initial pronuciation. "Ah-na-y-mah-jus!" she took a big breath, "AniMAHjus!"

She felt a sudden burst of energy climb to her chest to the tip of her fingers in one quick bloodchill disappear. Nadia looked about almost in panic just to make sure. She was OK, great, and no changes in her structure, good. It was pretty obvious she wouldn't manage in her first try (duh to that!), but she was still fearing she would change into an animal and have no sense of what she was doing. With another chill at the idea, Nadia turned around to face the professor, breathed a relaxing sigh after her small fright and raised her hand in hopes to get his attention,

"Excuse me, professor? If the animal you transform into when being an animagus is related to your identity, what would be, for example, your patronus as komodo dragon-animagi?"

Jenna reached into her pocket. She pulled out a small mirror. A few othe students were doing so as well. She stared intently at the reflection. No ears on my head. she thought. No tail, whiskers, gills, paws, horns, nothing. She was half relieved and half disappointed. Just as she was pocketing the mirror she did notice one thing. Her eyes were a tad more yello than normal. Her eyes were normally hazel, and did tend to change from browner to greener. But they definitely had a golden accent. "Nothing. It's nothing." She murmered, though she was not entirely reassured.

Brittany walks outside the classroom hearing one of the girl's questions. "I wonder what animal represents myself." Brittany thought as she waited for her friend to leave the classroom.

Jen looked around at the other students trying the incantation. She closed her eyes for a moment to help her concentrate. When she felt she was focused enough, she tried the spell. "Ani-MAY-jus!" she tried. She felt a little chill, but wasn't sure if it was just from the anticipation of wondering what would happen. She tried the spell again, this time changing her pronunciation a little. "Ana-MAH-jus!" she said. She felt the chill again, but not as obvious as last time. Maybe I'm just imagining things. she thought trying to be logical. It's not like I'm special or anything

Jenna thought hard once more. She felt that excitement building up inside her, filling her with a warmth. She focused on that feeling. Slowly closing her eyes, she could see the red of the light pressing on her eyelids.

"Ani-may-jus!" she said, never losing concentration. The warmth flooded through her, and her ears twitched along with her eyes this time, and all sense of her surroundings was lost. But as far as she could tell, she was still human, sitting in a chair, holding a wand and two legs planted on the ground. She opened her eyes again, and grabbed her mirror.

Her eyes were definitely more gold. In fact, there was hardly any hazel left. She thought her face looked flushed, a little more orange or red, but she had been focusing so hard she may have been holding her breath. Her ears seemed keener to sound, though she had lost track of it and it may have been shock. But they looked weird. Longer, or pointier?

It's my desperate imagination. She would find anything no matter how small to hope she could transform. But why were her eyes so gold? Why so different?

Professor McAiken turning into a dragon did not scare Terry this time. There was still alot she didn't know about him, but turning into a dragon was not one of them. "Professor McGonagall was his aunt, then that explain how he knows about those orbs. The article I read said only three people knew how to make them. Interesting. I wonder how the third peson is? I hope it's not Leiden or Perry that would ruin my plans." Terry listens to him explain how to turn into an animagi. It doesn't sound too hard. The only problem is there have only been two animagus in her family. James and Harry Potter. While she had inherited alot of traits from her great grandfather, she wasn't sure turning into an animagi was one of them. Terry takes out her wand and decides to give it a try. She holds her wand in her right hand and says an-i-May-jus. Nothing happens. She tries again without much success. "I knew this wasn't going to work. I'm just no good at transfiguration." Terry decides to try one more time. She concentrates hard on the animals her ancestors turned into a stag and a lion. She hold her wand tightly in her right hand and says an-i-MAY-jus in a clear strong voice. A streak of bright light comes out of her wand, but she still doesn't change appearence. Frustrated she sit down and her desk and notices a funny feeling in her behind. She turns around and sees she has the tail of a lion there. "Professor, I think I could use some help here." She turns around and shows him her tail. "How do I get rid of this?"

Jenna peeked open one eye from ehr next try. She spotted a Hufflepuff girl, clearly with a tail poking out her robes. She couldn'y help but laugh, although she felt jealous at the same time. She subsided her laughter and concentrated on this new feeling. My eyes changed, didn't they? She felt a burning inside her. "Ani-may-jus!" She cried this time, as opposed to her murmering as before. She felt the loss of surrounding once more but so intensely she felt as though the ground dropped from beneath her. The warmth turned to burning, and just as soon as it had started, it stopped. She opened her eyes. It turned out she had fallen from her chair. Wiping cold sweat from her forehead, she stood up, highly embarassed. The whispers and incantations around her grew louder. "Grr..." She groaned, there was a sharp pain in her leg. She calmed herself down for a moment and then retrieved her mirror. Her face was definitely flushed. Her eyes were just as gold as before. Now I know this must be something. She thought proudly. She went to fix her ponytail. Every brush movement she made was extremely loud. She could hear a student on the opposite side of the class rustle their papers as though they were doing it right in front of her. "That's strange." It sounded like a yell, though she barely moved her lips. As she went to pull her hair back, she felt something. Looking down in the mirror, she fell back off her chair once more. Two black ears stood on her head. They were sharp, like cat ears, but round. A large cat. There was a white spot on the back of both of them. Jenna had studied animals enough to know what this was. "Tiger...?!" She fell back on the floor and laughed weakly, her head starting to hurt from the noise and the continuous impact of the ground.

McAiken stared at both Jenna and Terry. "This is unusual, highly unusual," He stated as he moved towards Terry. With a wave of his wand he transformed the Hufflepuff back to her completely human form. He then crossed the room and did the same for Jenna.

"I want both of you to begin to see me outside your normal Transfiguration class. You may posess the ability to be an animagus," he instructed both girls. "Okay, I think we will stop here for this lesson. Check the here and the homework board tomorrow for your assignment. It's been a surprising lesson. Nadia, I'll see you in my office after class if you please. Jenna and Terry stop by the office and we'll schedule the sessions. Class dismissed."
