Erica scribbled down some notes and tried her best to stay with the lesson. It was a lot to take in all at once and she was sure that she would be needing some extra study time just to understand the basics of animagi.

Jenna had been jotting down notes intently. This class was by far her favorite, and she wanted to learn all she could. A komono dragon! If I set my mind right, I wonder if I could study to become an animagus... She slackened the grip on her quill as she said this, and instead began sketching some pictures of animals she would enjoy being, not that she had much of a choice between them. Jenna already knew a lot about animagi, seeing as she had already read all the available books about animal related transformation in the library. Maybe I should ask Professor McAiken to allow me to check out some of the more challenging transformation books that I need a note for. She began sketching once more.

Calista was eagerly listening in class and scribbling down a lot of notes. She was really interested in Animagus. She was very enthusiastic in the lesson while thinking... Me, a metamorphagus plus, hopefully, an animagus! God, that would be so cool!

Harmony eagerly took quick notes as this was her favorite subject. She would do anything to excel at it, especially with this very exciting lesson

BIC - Lee continued to copy down the odd occasion of notes. He was guessing there was no practical this lesson so he placed his wand in his pocket. He began tapping his quill on his desk waiting for more notes to come by his way.

McAiken looks at Nadia, "Some say the form is like your id. The true self, in a manner of speaking, of who you have been if you had been born as an animal. The form comes from deep within yourself. I have always had a fondness for dragons and lizards. Yet no one is quite sure why an animagus choose the form they transfigure into." Just then McAiken spotted Ganymede changing her hair color.

"Ganymede, I believe our new Headmistress has made it clear that "normal" hair color is to be worn at Hogwarts, 25 point from Slytherin for your rule breaking and disturbing me." McAiken commented before moving on.

"Animagi, some people think are born much in the way a metamorphagus is, but an animagus must learn to channel his energy and magic to transfigure. An metamorphagus's ability comes more easy for those born with the trait for it. They can change their appearance but remain human, while an animagus changes into an animal. There is no record at this time that a person can be both an animagus and a metamorphagus"

Selena groaned at Professor Aiken. He musta been the only professor taking these new rules too far. This was the same professor that had docked Selena 5 points for eating an apple pie. Selena just glared at Professor Aiken while he continued to talk.

Calista was still listening eagerly. Transfiguration was one of her favorite subjects and she thought that Professor McAiken's really good at it! It was interesting to learn that there's no metamorphagus and animagus at the same time. It'll be really way to cool if I'll be one of the first! She smiled while scribbling down notes.

krista raises her hand wat if your metaporphic but you cant conrol when you change your apperence cause thats how i am.or i haven't mastered how to control it im not sure.

OOC: While it isn't in the cannon when Tonks learned to control her transformation, I would think, from the time she was quite young, her parents would have worked with her. Image what would happen if they didn't, she could have never gone in the muggle world. A wizarding family would not have risked discovery by taking a child who would change appearance, hair color, and such without control. I am sure as young metaporphic would have slip ups but I believe they learn control early, plus they would be 11 when they entered their first year. At age 11 most childern from wizarding families had better control of their magic than muggle borns or Harry. There might the odd exception of a half-blood or pure blood who lacked control by the time he or she reached Hogwarts. Neville comes to mind, he didn't seem to much control as a first, second.... but some of that could be he was using the wrong wand.

Llewellyn gave out a soft sigh and raised his hand, asking politely, "Sir, meaning no disrespect, if the spell is as difficult as it is made out to be, why would a person bother to risk that danger simply to be able to change into an animal at will? Aren't there other spells that allow a wizard to change their form?"

McAiken stepped in front of the class. Holding his wand in his right hand he commanded "an-i-MAY-jus". In a flash a komono dragon was where McAiken once stood.

Lee's eyes widened as a fire breathing dragon appeared in front of them. Lee began to panic, it wasnt everyday you saw one of these nasty creatures.

Jenna noticed the sudden gasp from the class and looked up from her doodling. "Oh my word!" She gazed an awe at the dragon lying there, right where Professor McAiken had stood not a moment ago. "That's amazing, Professor!" She called out, too amazed to care whether or not she was being dissruptive.

Tao blinked for a second and looked utterly amazed. She knew she shouldn't be this amazed, but somehow, she was in complete awe.

McAiken only transfigures for a short time. Almost as suddenly as he turned into the Komono he is human again.

"Yes there are other spell and even potions that allow as wizard to transfigure, each of those methods have it's downfall. Polyjuice requires a bit of the person and must be consumed almost hourly. It takes a very long time to brew and is difficult to brew. Disillusionment blends the witch or wizard into their enviroment but if you move to quickly you can be seen by the ripple effect that takes place when you do so. The animagus spell is difficult to master but as far as risks there is little danger to you. You either are able to it or you aren't."

Llewellyn's eyes widened. He managed to keep asemblance of order about himself by reminding himself that it was indeed just his professor. The closer he looked at the thing, the more it seemed to be aware of its surroundings. Indeed, it almost appeared to have certain non-lizard qualities about it.

ooc: Andrew, I will need you to check the "Reality of the RPG" thread in the chat-box. We were discussing about inherited powers like metamophmagi and most people in-charge said they prefered that those who were metamorphmagus shouldn't be able to control their powers. So you understand why I want to *headdesk*


Nadia watched the dragon-like creature. More like, it looked like an overgrown lizard. She side-ways gave Ganymede a reassuring smile, as if telling her not to care about it. Seemly, they would never last on the house points much with this one professor, Nadia though while sighing. She was still hoping for a way to decipher which would be her animagus form, if she ever tried the spell (which was unlikely), maybe Divinatory powers? Now she waited for the professor to respond the students before she could ask herself a couple of things. For one, she was wondering about the practical part of the lesson. They wouldn't attempt turning into anything themselves, right?

Finally spoke; Nadia raised her hand, "Professor, is it possible for you to tranfigure us into our animagus form - alike Mr Moody/Crouch did to young Draco Malfoy that one time... Would that be Malfoy's animagus form or a form chosen by the second wizard?"

Jen raised her hand. "Professor, how does a person know if they're an Animagus? Is there a test you have to take, or are there certain signs or something?"

Jenna stared. She wondered about asking for private lessons, either this term or another.

Erica sat at her seat, amazed at the display that Professor McAiken allowed them to see. Even though all of the talk was somewhat hard to follow, the actual example awakened something in her. She wondered if she possessed this ability and if she did, what she would be. Her sense of interest heightened as she started rapidly taking down notes.
