Elani took a rock and returned to her seat in the back corner.

Annie goes to get a rock, and returns to her seat in the back of the classroom. When she is seated, she write a few more notes.

Harmony also takes a rock and brings out her wand, quill and parchement, ready for the lesson

Afton gets up and walks to the front and get a rock and turns back to her seat. once she is seated, she gets out ink, parchment, a quill, and her wand.

Martha gets up from her seat in the front and takes a rock from the desk. Walking back to her seat, she tries not to think of how funny her goblet had looked with wiggiling legs. Taking her seat again, she puts the rock on the edge of her desk and waits for the Professor to begin a second explanation.

After transfiguring her gecko into a nice-looking goblet about 3 times, she felt more excited to do more. Calista got her self a rock and walked back in her seat to start practicing. Thanks to her last night's studying, and also Professor McAiken's instructions, she was prepared and confident. She sat there and waited for further instructions before even trying to transmorgify her rock.

Lorelei sees a fellow first year Hufflepuff, and decides to sit by her. She grabs her rock, and all her things, and sat next to Calista. "Hi," she says. "I saw you at the dorm. You're a first year too right? Mind if I sat with you?"

"No, I don't mind." She smiled back at her fellow Hufflepuff. It was nice to know someone in class. "Let's just keep quiet and wait for further instructions from our professor."

"Awesome, thanks!" she says, as she sets all her things on the table. Again, she sits there quietly, staring at her rock, and starts to poke it.

Dru put her colourful goblet to one side and went to get herself a rock

Cherry got up from her seat and went to get a rock. She then sat back down and wrote a quick note, ready to continue the lesson.

jamie walks in and spots two first years and ask them if he can sit next to them during class

Meghan smiled... More practice is what she needed. She had gotten up and retrieved her rock. She went back to her seat and waited for the next lesson.

Rosa got up and got a rock from the desk. then she walked back and looked at her rock, wondering what they'd transform it in.

"This time you will transfigure a non living object into another non-living object. That is what this transfiguration easier. For now we will be focusing on the stone becoming a pitcher but towards the end of class I'll give each of you a chance to transfigure it into an object you think could be used as a shield," McAiken said as he continued to watch the student returning to their seats.

"and how would we accomplish turning it into a pitcher Professor?" Lee asked raising his hand "i mean the incantation and wand movements"

Erica hastily grabbed a rock and took a seat as the professor was explaining what they would be doing. She inspected the rock, wondering how she would do on this stage of the lesson.

"Lee, I was just getting around to telling you, and it's a good question. You can use the command "transmorgify" for many transfigurations, yet other command or incantations are around. Today we'll practice the incantation "variegatus". With this incantation you won't have as much creativity but you will be able to change the form," asked the professor. He removed his wand from his robes and performed the spell on the stone in front of him. Using a swirl then a slash motion with his wand, he used the incantation just as the wand was again pointed at the stone. A violet light sprang from his wand hitting the stone. The stone then shook and suddenly became a stone pitcher.

"If you notice, my pitcher is solid and has the dabbing pattern as the stone. You won't get a delicate pitcher but a hardy one just like the rock is hardy." McAiken stated as he replaced his wand. "You may begin your practice."

Raven slipped her own robe from her pocket and levitated the brick to come to her table. She remember Professor McAiken make the swish and slash and worded the spell contiuneously in her head. Getting ready to perform she commanded firmly "variegatus". The violet light shot from her wand and hit the stone dead in the middle. Raven watched as the stone shook and transformed into a very small pitcher. "Drats, If I had focused more on the outcome and not thought so hard maybe the pitcher would have been the correct size." She levitated another stone brick and tried again hoping to get the incantation correct.

Meghan nodded... She did the want movement, concentrated, and "Variegatus!"

To her surprise the rock transformed into a pitcher... This was odd. She never gotten it right the first time. She got another rock and tried again. This time the rock transformed into a half a pitcher.

Cherry layed the stone on her desk and took out her wand. She repeated the spell under her breath, remembering the wand movement the Professor had instructed.

She decided to try it out. But she was still feeling a bit too excited, and the slash movement was done with a little bit too much force, so when she "variegatus", the pitcher turned into a hard cup instead.

Raven attempted her second time with the rock that was already infront of her. Movng it directly infront of her she stared at it. Not blinking to lose concentration, she worded the spell while down the precise wand movement. The violet color shot from her wand extremely fast and hit the stone. Not doing alot of shaking, the stone brick transformed into what she seemed to believe was a well done pitcher. She placed her small and normal sized pitcher in the corner of the desk to have Professor McAiken examine her progess towards what she had done.

jamie takes out his wand and points it at his rock and says variegatus the rock turns into a pitcher on his first try. he got excited and accedently turned the desk into a pitcher. jamie told the proffessor he was sorry and turn the desk back then set his pitcher on the coner for the professor to look at

After Nadia's rather failed attempt with the gecko - she had put it back to nomal back in its cage without getting a full transformation -, Nadia took her wand again and practiced with the wand movement before actually attempting. With a low voice she kept repeating the incantation acentuation and with yet another wand-movement she watched the stone being hit by the purple light and change slightly. The outsider shape was pretty correct but it had no center. Rather, it had to lack of center. Seemly she had been concentration on the exterior form alone.

Nadia stared at passively, then waved her wand again, this time with less accurate movement and whispered incantation, but her mind much concentrated in shape. That made it improve; this time a hole appeared at the center. Sure, the walls were not thin but that was pretty much the assigment and she did think she got a pretty good result. With the gecko attempt, she razoned, she probably wasn't even trying.

Doing it over and over again, to make practice, Nadia continued to try changing it fully and keep like that, but still with concentration problems.

"Could it be, professor," Nadia said raising her hand, "that Variegatus is for tranfiguration of an object without changing the prima matter? In this case, stone?"
