"Yes, Terry is you use this incantation it will remain stone but there at other incantations that would change it to some other than stone. A powerful wizard might be able to do so with this incantation but we're talking about someone on the level of a Dumbledore or Voldermortist. Talent of the wizard or witch allows them to push an incantation to it's highest limits." McAiken says as he responds to the question

"Variegratus" Trevor says not even acheiving close to a pitcher especially not what he wanted.

"Variegatus" Trevor says once again this time it's a pitcher just deformed.

'I wonder if the ability to use spells this flexibly or this thoroughly comes as much from the mind as the magic,' Aschere mused aloud, as she placed her pitcher in the middle of her desk.

Terry shudders at the mention of that man's name. The memories of his last visit are still fresh in her mind. If Voldemortist hadn't tried to steal the Book of Mysteria, the old professor would be still teaching and the Ministry official would be back in London where they belong. Terry shudders to think what might happen if Voldemortist stages a return visit. She has to smile when she envisions Leiden standing at the Front Doors telling him he can't enter by order of the Ministry of Magic. Althought it's not funny to imagine Voldemortist using the Avada Kedavra curse on her.

"Variegatus," Trevor says one more time and acheives the pitcher

looks at the pitcher she just transfigured.....
it was solid stone................
holds it in her hands but then puts it bak on desk and sits down to look at her notes.....

Linnea had been watching the other students, a little confused. She did what they were with their wands, without the words, she had learned it was easier to practice any movement first.


After a few minuets, Linnea felt she understood. "Variegratus" she said, hesitantly. Nothing happened. "Variegratus!" She said more firmly. She frowned when it did just a slight changed. She watched the other students again and realized that it was her pronounciation she had wrong.

"Variegratus" She said with confidence and succeded in changing her rock into a pitcher. She sighed in relief and relaxed a little

Variegartus! Bam said, pointing his wand at the water goblet, and... nope. It was a melted water goblet.
Dang!

Variegratus! Bam yelled again, correcting it and he had a pitcher.
Yes! He yelled.

"Professor," Raven raised her hand slowly and smiled. "What would the counter-curse of the spell be?"

Marybeth wondered what the answer to the Ravenclaw student's question was, as she now had a lumpy pitcher with no way of turning it back into a stone.

Ivy looked around the room then back at her rock as it lay on the desk. She hoped that it would not take too much effort to transfiguer the rock to a pitcher.

She made the proper wand motion and said "Variegatus" forcefully. She was astonished that she'd gotten so colse on the first try. a handsome serving bowl sat before her on the desk.

"Professor, what is the proper syllable to empahsize in this incantation? I noticed that with the last spell that that helped me tremendously," Ivy said.

YUna smiled for the points that we finally got some points then, she firmly pointed her wand at the stone then started to pratice saying it. 'variegatus, variegatus, variegatus' then without realizing three stones on her table changed into a stone pitcher 'opps' She lefted one on her table and put the other two on different tables. she thinks.. maybe next time i should pratice it without pointing my wand at the stone.

*looks around, then takes a water goblet and tries to turn it into a pitcher..
"Variegretus!*
nothing happened
"oopsies, rong pronunciations........
Variegratus!"
the goblet turns into a pitcher........
"yesh i did it!!!"

Astoria looked over the notes she took and attempted to perform the incantation.
"Variegatus!" She yelled. She then smiled as she saw a pitcher sitting on her desk where the rock once was.
I think I'm finally getting the hang of this!

Confidence still flooding through her form the gecko, Roma took out her wand and pointed it at the rock. She concentrated on seeing a pitcher in front of her and said "Variegatus!" Unsuprisigly, the rock instantly turned into a pitcher. She beamed. 'This is definatley going great!' she thought.

Afton began practicing. the first time she tried it didnt work...



variegatus!"

and the stone changed into a hard, dark pitcher.

"Yes."

she beamed

Llewellyn set his rock on the desk before him. The young huffelpuff practiced the motion with his wand for a few minutes before chanting the incantation. He looked around the room, then copying the motion of the professor very carefully and concentrating fully, Llewellyn called assertively, "Variegatus." The rock before him shook for a moment, then formed slowly into the shape of a stone pitcher with the same cracks and flaws as the rock on the table.
Llewellyn smiled, and celebrated to himself. He then picked up the heavy pitcher and examined it thouroughly, content with himself.

Ashley stared at her rock. "Please let this work" she says to herself. Then she waves her wand and says "Variegatus". Slowly the rock takes the shape of a very odd shaped picther. Sighing with disappointment Ashley searches for another rock.

Lee sat listening carefully taking the odd note with his chocolate nibbiling quill. He did his usual loopish hufflepuff handwriting on his piece of parchment and continued listening to the professor and students around him, he didn't want to miss a thing but also he wanted class to be over so he could go talk to Professor McAiken about the matters of Hogsmeade

Mithos nodded at the Professor and took out his wand. He pointed at the rock standing in front of him "Variegatus." he said in a soft low voice. The rock didn't change. He looked around hoping that no one had seen it. He pointed at the rock again and with determination he said clearly "Variegatus!" the rock started changing its form and soon it was a pitcher. He smiled and looked around at the other students.

Serena eyed Lee across the room. She was worried that Lee would cause more trouble, especially after the episode at the opening feast. She took a deep breath and then turned to the cold dark grey stone on her desk and flicked her wand.

Variegratus!!

Before her stood a pitcher with a smooth stone surface but larger than she expected. She could see the variations in color, but it still retained mostly the dark grey she had seen in the stone.

Laurasia practiced the wand motion & incantation for a few minutes before focusing on the stone itself. When she felt comfortable with her motions she turned her attention to the stone in front of her.

"Okay, now just relax & focus," she told herself. She focused her attention on the stone & envisioned it becoming a stone pitcher. When she was able to hold the vision she raised her wand & announced..."variegratus!"

To her amazement, the stone transformed into a stone pitcher with a small puff of smoke. A huge smile broke out across her face as her chest filled with pride.

"It worked, it really worked," she said outloud without meaning to. Suddenly she realized that others where looking at her oddly & the realization that she had made her statement outloud washed over her. Her face turned bright red. "I'm sorry you guys. Continue with what you were doing."

She laughed quietly to herself, still giddy with pride. She had begun to look forward to attending Professor McAiken's classes & waited eagerly for the lesson to continue.
