Llewellyn chuckled at Lee's comment. He silently wondered if Lee was wizard born, as that would explain his lack of understanding of scientific taxonomy. For a brief moment, the young Hufflepuff began to feel somewhat proud of his non-wizarding heritage and suddenly thought the poor children raised in wizarding families must lead a terrible life.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Ganymede Craft Slytherin Fifth Year | :: Ganymede wondered why it was called skye blue... she thought it looked more purple than anything. She rolled her eyes at Mithos. The she gave a small giggle at Lee's question. Ganymede hoped the Professor would ask what was the stuff that the Flower was in.. she knew that was dirt. She giggled some more. ::

Emmy wrote a note of the name and what it looks like. I do hope the test about these plants are going to be easy! |

| Professor Virohsa grinned slightly. For his extremely thick headedness, that was a good question. "Well, dear. Botany and Herbology have always intrigued the muggle and wizard alike. As such, we have realized the importance of cataloging such plants. Consider this, you are faced with two plants, one of which is poisoneous. If you were to name plants on just their looks, then you would be unable to distinguish them apart, now, wouldn't you?", she asked.
"As such, differentiating plants in their characteristics as well as type of plant is seen by the different names they acquire. Now, any other questions before we continue?", she asked the class. |

| Jamie wrote down the most important things that the Professor and just stated and the questions that the students asked. She then looked up and listened to see if anyone else had any questions because she didn't. |

Llewellyn looked around at his fellow students, then seeing none of them were going to ask questions, he raised his hand politely. "Professor Virohsa, are there any magical properties of this plant?"

| Professor Virohsa nodded, "Very well, we shall proceed. The first question is, where was this plant originally from and where is it usually bred?", she asked the class. |

Nadia raised her hand, "The Nemesia Blue Lagoon was bred in Germany and England. Blue Lagoons scoff at cold weather and keep blooming right through frosts in early spring and late fall. They perform best in cool gardens or in partial shade in hot areas."

| Professor Virohsa smiled. "Yes, it is bred in Germany and England, 3 pts for Sarah. However, it is said it was originally found in Africa."
Then, looking at Llew, she said, "Unfortunately, this plant does not have any specific magical properties except the effect its aroma has on people. As a hint, I will briefly remind you that it ties closely to Herbology -- which is the art of using plants and herbs for medicinal purposes. So, the second question is: Given what we know, how do we expect the Nemesia's aroma to affect people who smell it?", she smiled. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Currently: Diane Entelequia Second Year | ooc: sorry to double-post but it's only so I don't have to edit. Thinking the question hadn't been completely answered, she added, raising her hand, "The Sun Exposure should be of "Sun to Partial Sun", needs no especific Soil Type, neither does it has any moisture requirements since it's so widely adaptable. The temperature can be from -50şC to over 40şC, hence nowadays being raised in pretty much any place in, for example, the US, minus the coldest of those places."
She finished, finally dropping her hand back down, thinking that should cover the second part of the professor's question.

| Professor Virohsa smiled, "Yes, dear. Those conditions make it for this plant to be easily grown in a diverse number of places. Thank you, child for those numbers. However, that was not exactly part of the question.... nevertheless, keep that in mind for the third question I will ask momentarily", she nodded. |

"Seemly," Nadia said rasing her hand again, "they produce a powerful, fragrant aroma when the sun hits the flowers. I'm guessing the effect it produces is of sleepiness and relaxing, probably used for painkillers or distracting the subject from the pain."

| Professor Virohsa nodded as Sarah and Nadia spoke. "Yes, child it helps calm.. but it is something a bit more, such as Nadia explored. It is used for pain numbness as well as sleepiness and relaxation. So, I shall award Sarah 2 pts and Nadia 3 pts for their answers", she nodded. "Now, the the third question Nadia hinted. What can guess about the nature of this plant?", she asked. |

| Jamie raised her hand and said, "Nemesia hates drought so ensure the soil is kept moist. They perform best in cool gardens or in partial shade in hot areas. The compact plants produce and abundance of showy flowers all summer long." |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Currently: Diane Entelequia Second Year | (ooc: wasn't the question "where it is usually bred?" :S )
Nadia lowered her sight because she was not sure what she had hinted indeed. She was just numbering conditions needed for the plant to grow which hinted where it might be found or grown... She finally raised her hand, "Well, it's resistent, easy to handle, innofenssive, adaptable to many situations, and they perform best in cool gardens or in partial shade in hot areas, liking it moist."
She finished somewhat insecurely.

Llewellyn quirked an eyebrow, not entirely certain what the professor's question was. Instead, he continued to listen to the other students and look around the room.

| Professor Virohsa nodded as she heard the students speak in an orderly fashion. "Very good. As Jamie explained, they produce very showy flowers and as Nadia stated, it is quite resistant to environmental changes and extremely safe. Needless to say, it is a plant that adores attention and will try to obtain it by discoloring itself slightly. 3 pts to Hufflepuff and Slytherin", she grinned.
"Now, as you please take your gloves and wands out, I want you to think about how you will interact with such plant. You will be required to use the Lumos charm as well as constantly water the plant. With that in mind, pick a partner if you want to work in pairs. If you don't, you can work alone. Please gather all of these materials about the class and once you have them at your table, we shall begin interacting with the plant. Not before". Quote:

Llewellyn dropped his forehead to the desk with a groan. Idiot! Those were the plants you were working on in the greenhouse... He thought to himself, quickly followed by, What do you mean, no 'magical properties'. Bloody wizards, they don't think changing colors to get attention counts as magical???. He sighed and started looking around, wondering if he wanted to bother with a partner.

Nadia decided that for this day, she would like to work alone. She went to the front of the class and grabbed a potted plant and pitcher with water both, then went back to her working place. Taking her globes who were just by the side of the table, she put them on. Now the wand... she could't find it. She checked to feel it in her pocket, then visually made sure, then checked her bag and then.... she kept missing the fact that it was tucked behind her ear, next to her glasses frames.
