Laurasia_Malfoy 05-21-2005 02:28 AM

Laurasia slowly raised her hand.

"Sky?" she asked unsure of herself.

fr2nc1z 05-21-2005 02:29 AM

Professor Virohsa shook her head. The blackboard now also showed the following,

Quote:

Sky Blue ______ _____

Hermione_loves_Ron 05-21-2005 02:30 AM

"I'm sure its not an iris..." Ashlie muttered to herself

Unidentified101 05-21-2005 02:30 AM

Jamie raised her hand and asked, "Skye?"

fr2nc1z 05-21-2005 02:32 AM

So it had to come to this. Pressing her lip, so that her mouth was but a thin line, she looked at the students. "Very well... The third word is a synonym for... a cove, a pool, a lake", she muttured slowly.

Starbreeze 05-21-2005 02:34 AM

Mithos raised his hand "Sky Blue Laguna Lobelia."

fr2nc1z 05-21-2005 02:36 AM

Professor Virohsa looked almost excited when Mithos uttered his answer. But alas, it was not what she had expected. "What's the other term for Laguna.. in english?", she asked as cordially as she could manage. She certainly had not expected this part of the class to take so long.

She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho! 05-21-2005 02:36 AM

"Sky Blue Pond?" Nadia said raising her hand.

fr2nc1z 05-21-2005 02:37 AM

Professor Virohsa shook her head, "What is another word for a pond, laguna, lake, cove?". She waited. Surely the answer would come soon.. and then... the points will be handed out.

Laurasia_Malfoy 05-21-2005 02:38 AM

Laurasia raised her hand.

"Sky Blue Lagoon Lobelia."

Unidentified101 05-21-2005 02:39 AM

Jamie raised her hand and said, "Sky Blue Lagoon Lobelia."

fr2nc1z 05-21-2005 02:40 AM

Professor Virohsa smiled at the Slytherin student, who spoke first. "Well, you have the third word right, so I will award you 10 pts", she nodded. "But it is not a Lobelia, dear".

Mithos hand was up again when he said "Sky Blue Lagoon Nemesia."

Laurasia_Malfoy 05-21-2005 02:43 AM

Laurasia raised her hand again.

"Sky blue lagoon nemesia?"

She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho! 05-21-2005 02:44 AM

Oh, of course. Lagoon. Nadia had no luck with guessing games, that was that. Much less with guessing games in different languages than her own. Blame it to most her education in plants being muggle and in Spanish. Nevermind that now, the name have been already said. Nadia took note of the name, the different elements, already glad it was over, that part of the lesson, as well. Meanwhile, most of the characteristics of this plant seemed to have been named on the guessing.

Martha 05-21-2005 02:47 AM

Martha thought about all the clues and the discussion and an idea popped in her head. She remembered reading about a flower that matched the clues the professor had given them. Hesitantly raising her hand she says, "I believe its the Nemesia Sky Blue Lagoon, 'Nemesia hybrids', exhibits beautiful sky blue flowers. These sweet scented blooms fill the air with their fragrant aroma when the sun hits the flowers. Proven Selections introduces Sky Blue Lagoon, with it's blue flowers, to join the Nemesia line of old favorites. The Sky Blue Lagoon keeps blooming from early spring to late fall. They perform best in cool gardens or in partial shade in hot areas. The compact plants produce and abundance of showy flowers all summer long. For zones 8-11, this plant can also be a perennial."

fr2nc1z 05-21-2005 02:50 AM

Professor Virohsa smiled satisfied. The two students had raised their hands and spoken at the same time (look at your times lol). "Very well! Good job! It was about time, too! I will grant 25 pts to Hufflepuff for getting the answer... and 10 pts to Ravenclaw for being so close and answering at the same time", she smiled. "However, you did not raise your hand, and I will take away 5 of those 25 pts, dear".

Looking back at the class, she smiled. "Yes, it is a Sky Blue Lagoon Nemesia. Good, I want you to open your books and read its short description. Be prepared, I will ask you questions abou tthe Nemesia plant"

Ooc- I'm still going to take the pts away, because I had already started writing when you edited. Please refrain from editing. If you choose to edit, then perhaps the time that would have taken you to write the answer, another student would have spoken before you.
And, this is a good time to stop. I will continue the next part tomorrow afternoon at about 5pm CT.

Llewellyn frustratingly flipped through his herbology book. Where the heck are they getting this from?!!! He shouted in his head. He narrowed his eyes at Virohsa, and decided that indeed he did not like her. With a resigned sigh he went about drawing more pictures of plants, wondering what any of this had to do with magical plants.

She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho! 05-21-2005 02:54 AM

If you weren't looking for this exact name, your chances of getting it right were very slim. Sky Blue Lagoon Nemesia... Nadia didn't think she had ever heard of that one, and didn't get to read in her book about it especifically. Nadia took the chance to review some from her book as the class settled down and continued.

[the.time.turner] 05-21-2005 02:58 AM

Being that it was her first year, Tania found her second Herbology lesson to be a bit tough. She didn't know much about plants and took up most of her time writing notes so she didn't find the plant in her textbook fast enough. She continued to take notes and wondered what the rest of the lesson would be like.

SapphireMisty 05-21-2005 03:02 AM

Diana just mentally kicked herself for not knowing the answer to the flower. No matter, she would pounce on the next opportunity to answer the next time a question is asked to the students. She noted down the name and its description.

ladybird 05-21-2005 03:54 PM

Birdy watched the teacher avidly as she flipped through her own book to the index and searched 'Nemesia Sky Blue Lagoon'. After copying down the blurb the professor wrote, she began making additional notes out of her textbook. After she finished, she began drawing a tiny snitch on the edge of her paper.

TomFeltonLuver 05-21-2005 05:31 PM

Lauren turned to the page in her book and quickly copied down what she read. "Very interesting" She thought to herself.

Leeness 05-21-2005 06:17 PM

Lee sat with his head on his hands bored he raised his hand "Professor why do plants ahve stupid names? i mean that plant could eassily be called the Chagosly or soemthing not four million words long?" Lee asked
