Nadia pondered, this was a punishment from the Gods for egocentrism. Now we have to endure what small children are forced to hear as if they were stupid or something. Well, here you have it. Now she had to be treated as such to think for the slight second in evolution of men. Merlin forbids. She swore, next thing she would do once returning home would be signing in for summer school. Quite without hesitation, she politely declined the professor's offer giving a small thanking nonetheless. More like she didn't considered it, nor consider-consider it. Because, if so she would be much sooner giving a small frown at the offer and being reminded of Melita's class in more than one sense. Nor did she consider that a small glass of water would be just what the doctor prescribed. But, nonetheless. And since she had already said no... |

Martha is thankful for the opportunity for a drink and decides to go up to the front and get a glass. She pours herself a cup of water and heads back to her seat and waits for the professor to continue. She sips her water and reads over her notes. |
Perry smiled broadly. "Now, now... don't be shy. I'm quite parched myself." He picked up a full glass sitting on his desk and took a sip. "Terry, pour a glass for each of your classmates. They can drink as we continue onwards. In a few moments, we're going to practice wand cleaning techniques with the twigs, but first, we'll play a little game to break up the monotony." |

Nadia took a couple of notes, though what about who could be sure, as she was served a glass of water nonetheless even though she refused it before. And just as her eeys returned to the parchment, she heard with some very natural astoundment the next activity and what it was supposed to be. If her face hadn't been facing downwards to the desk, she would have been worried the face she just made had been caught up by the professor. |
"Certainly, Professor." Terry goes back up to the desk and prepares the glasses of water like Professor Perry asked. She then borrows a couple of his twigs and transforms them into a large tray. Terry places the glasses on the tray and delivers them to her fellow classmates. She didn't realize behaving herself would be such hard work. |
Amaris took a glass of water and sniffed. She stirred the contents of the glass and raised an eyebrow. Ama had become suspicious of all professors as they seem to enjoy giving them vomit one way or the other. She held the glass between both hands without drinking anything. I think I just saw a...what is that? |
Perry put down his glass and slipped off of his desk. Moving to the door, he shut it firmly and charmed it to be locked. "Excellent," he repeated, turning to smile at the children. "Now, here are the rules of the game. I'm going to ask you a question... and you're going to answer me honestly and completely. I regret to inform me that you don't have a choice in whether or not you answer me honestly and completely, as I've been forced to give you Veritaserum in your water. It was for your own good..." He sighed, sorry that he'd had to resort to such measures. "If you choose not to participate because you didnt' want water, you may remain silent. If you cannot remain silent, I will make you silent. Now... who here has heard of the Book of Mysteria?" |
*Kirstie drank slowly, and put her cup down as Proffessor Perry said that it contained Veritaserum* "I have professor, a few terms ago. But only in passing" |
:: Ganymede's hair turned bright green when the she heard "Veritaserum" She didn't have any water and looked to Nadia with fear. She quickly placed her water on her desk. She looked around and tried to think of something to do. :: |
Selena looked at the water, but didn't drink it. After hearing the water she chose not to drink had be tampered with Selena looked at the professor as if wondering if he was crazy, or better if he thought Selena was stupid enough to drink this. Selena looked over in Ganymede's direction seeing that she took didn't drink her water, so Selena was fine. |
Terry looks at Perry in horror. Veritaserum!! that was all she needed. On the verge of panicking, Terry tries to regain her composure and fight the Veritaserum as best she good. "I have also, professor. Of course it was several years ago. My grandfather was in charge of research on the Book of Mysteria. I believe the current Minister of Magic was his assistant at the time." Terry tries to get her breathing down to a normal pace. She hadn't exactly lied to Professor Perry. She just hadn't told him the whole truth. Once Terry got over the intial shock of the Professor's statement, she realized he had just drank a glass of water too from the same water pitcher. "Excuse me, professor, but didn't you just have a glass of water from the same pitcher as the rest of us. Doesn't that mean you just gave yourself Veritaserum, too?" Terry was hoping her hunch was right. She has a few question she would like to ask the good professor too. Like what is Leiden hiding in the dungeons? |
:: Ganymede struggled to return her hair to a more normal color.. It faded to brown slowly. She glared at Terry and Kirstie. Slowly, Ganymede reached for her wand. She pulled it up slowly, hiding it in her lap. If worse came to worse, she'd have to do something. :: |
Martha felt like kicking herself. She had broken her mum's rule--never drink anything that's given to you unless you absolutely trust the person who is offering it. Martha felt mind relax. She hoped that she wouldn't say anything stupid while under the influence of Veritaserum. When she got out of this lesson she was going to do something about this. This had to be illegal. |
*Kirstie knew that she had been tricked, and that everyone was probably mad at her. But she was thirsty. And she might have told Perry what she knew without the Veritaserum anyway. It wasn't like she knew anything important* |
Nadia's eyes popped open, a look of panic in her face and her heart pounding way out of control. She couldn't believe this. Mind, yes, she considered it but as a faint possibility, not expecting the professor to be blatantly do this. For a minute, even though she had not drank any, she feared for her own tongue as if suddenly forgeting she was not one of those people. But. The others, on the other hand. She stared, and even looked around. She knew there was one she wouldn't need to worry, right? When her eyes rested on Ganymede, on the other hand, and her empty glass... The look of panic in Ganymede's face was almost a confirmation. But it was Kristie's voice the first to reach her ears. And then Terry, just on cue. Nadia tried to think, and looked around, but she was trying to compose herself before she sent something smashing over the place. |
:: Ganymede looked over at Nadia, trying to show she hadn't drank any. She nodded and gave a small smile. :: |
veritaserum krista thought looking around, luckly she did not drink any water so she was fine, and looked around. |
Nadia felt herself beath again. Whatever happened, it looked like it wasn't what she feared, if Gany could still smile. Did she imagine the empty glass? Or. It meant she had vanished her own water then re-filled? Now, wait a second, that is an idea. When the professor wasn't watching in her direction, Nadia reached out for her wand and pointed it at the "water". Next, the content was gone. A simple Evanesco. Maybe, she thought, she could use this much more on her advantage than she initially thought. She waited to be addressed next, knowing they would be next talking over each other and that wasn't going to do any good. And some people still had to have the potion act upon them. Meanwhile, Terry's rambling... other than informative, from what she had already known of the girl, she seemed to be fighting the potion... |
"I don't need the history of its origins, Terry, but its nice that you are so well read. Regardless, we need to focus on the present. Has anyone heard anything about the Book RECENTLY?" He eyed the students who were shifting uneasily in their seats. |
"No Professor" Kirstie said |

"This is crazy" Selena thought to herself. "where in the rules did it state teachers could use veritaserum as part of the lesson." Selena wondered. |
"Well of course no one has heard about it recently. It's a crime punishable by imprisonment in Azkaban Prison to even mention that book. I thought as a Ministry official you would know that." Terry is starting to feel a little light headed. Fighting the Veritaserum was harder work than she thought it would be. She didn't know how much longer she could hold out. Then she looked at the twigs on the desk. They might come in handy if the questioning got too much out of hand. |
