DADA Lesson 3 Perry tossed a pile of twigs onto his desk before he straightened them meticulously. Finally, he was settled enough with the look of the pile to charm the door open. Taking a seat behind the desk, he waited for the students to enter the room. |
:: Ganymede strolled in and walked humbly to his desk. She then asked simply, "Professor Perry, May I ask you a question?" :: |
Skylar walked into the room and went to say hi to the professor. She noticed another girl talking to him so she decided to just sit down and wait for the lesson to begin. |
Perry noticed the Slytherin girl waiting to speak with him. "What can I do for you today, miss? Are you prepared for class?" |
Liam walked in and took a seat taking out a quill and parchment waiting for class to beegin |

Astoria walked into the DADA class and took a seat. She took out stuff for note-taking and waited for class to begin. Yet another interesting class.... |
"Catch me in my office later, miss. This really isn't the time or place to be worried about a visit to Hogsmeade. Go on and take a seat, and we'll discuss this later. As soon as a few more of your classmates show up, we can get started." |
Nadia arrived the class and took a seat in the back. Past Borr experience and what she was told about Perry was enough of a warning to... keep distance. And that she would. Wrapped in a winter cloak, she started taking her school supplies. |

She knew Hebe probably could hear that thought. She was sure Hebe would be handing her a book to read later on about DADA. She pulled out her broken quills and started to date her parchment. :: |
Liam leaned back in his chair waiting for more students to arrive |
Terry nods in Professor Perry's direction as she enters the classroom. She notices the professor has neatly stacked a pile of twigs on his desk. "Oh Lord, what's he going to do this class. Burn the school down," she thinks to herself. Terry quickly finds herself a seat as far away from the professor's desk as possible. Taking out her supplies, she decides this is going to be another interesting class. She hopes the school has protective charms for fire. |
Perry stood and waved to get the students' attention. "Alright, children, I need your attention. Let's get started. Go ahead and put away your wands away and get out your quills and parchment." |
Well, Nadia thought, she guessed a much. That's why when she took her supplies her hand did not even dive for her wand. Only quill and parchment. So. What now? Maybe this would be a good moment to try her Quick-notes Quill. There was probably nothing wrong that could happen, even if she missed a couple of notes. |
Liam got ready to take notes with his quill and parchment ready |
Astoria sighed as she picked up her quill to take notes. Why can't this class ever be interesting?? |
"Excellent... today we are going to continue to discuss the importance of some importance wand basics. Anyone who was in my class last term... what do you remember we already discussed regarding wand basics?" |
Nadia bit her lip, trying to recall... but for the first time in her life, she couldn't remember what a class was about. (Not that she had any notes on it to help her either way.) She involuntarily felt to check her temperature over the forehead, but it looked more like a gesture of thinking anyway, like rubbing her temples to think better. Finally, she risked it and raised her hand. Even if you couldn't remember, there was an easy way to guess with this professor. "I believe we discussed the need to use a wand at all - and," possibly, "why young students like us should better go to an adult rather than try ourselves to face danger." |
:: Ganymede slouched in her seat and rolled her eyes. She hoped something interesting would happen in this lesson. "Yes, if there's any danger, get a Professor." She chimed in mimicking Nadia. :: |
"Yes, well... obviously those are points with extreme merit, but that isn't what we discussed in our last wand-handling class. Really, class... I'm disappointed. I"m considering taking 50 points from each house if someone doesn't come up with something at least remotely brilliant." |

Nadia blinked. Apart from being useless, having 50 points taken from each house... She bit her tongue. Bad time for brain not to come with any brilliant ideas. All in her mind was Rae's lessons in YAC on where to put her wand. Wand handling, wand handling... what did this guy said about wand handling? Wasn't it about the use? And then her eyes popped open and she raised her hand again, a little bit too enthusiastically, "We discussed how to hold a wand. Not too tight and yet not to soft to let it fall. The grip on the wand is most important." She said this almost robotically. And in all honesty is made her remember of a muggle movie called Star Wars. She frowned. And no wonder she hadn't remembered before; that class had been paused in its main theme to discuss, rather forcefully and because of angered students, about the Ministry intromission back term. But, anyways, that was about it. Nadia slowly lowered her hand. |
"You should hold your wand with a proper grip?" Jaren replied. |
Perry nodded. "I'm glad to see a little threat has jump-started your brain, Nadia. You are correct. We talked about the appropriate way to hold a wand... a gentle, flexible grip. We also talked about proper wand maintenance, which is what we are going to focus on today." |
