Kay raised her hand. "Isn't the creature a Niffler, sir?"

serenasnape 05-23-2005 12:52 AM

Serena agreed, "It looks like a niffler to me."

Aris 05-23-2005 12:55 AM

Raven looked at her classmates and back towards the Professor. She wrote down the people she saw in the classroom. {Nadia, Linnea, Serena etc...} she wrote quickly and looked back up at the Professor who obviously was displaying some type of creature. She looked back at her classmates that was yelling answers and shook her head.

Josef Perry 05-23-2005 12:56 AM

"Yes, exactly... it is a niffler. Five points to Gryffindor. I understand that you may have come under the impression that these animals are rather harmless... but that is not the case. Think about what they do! What do they do? Anyone?" His eyes were bright with excitement at the lesson.

pippin 05-23-2005 12:58 AM

Jenna raised her hand again. "They can find shiny things. Gold, silver, spoons, etc. They dig them up and sniff them out with their paws and long noses." She didn't point out that she had mentioned this before.

Potatohead 05-23-2005 12:59 AM

Annie raised her hand, "They attack, Sir?" Annie thought, then added to her answer, "If you're wearing rings and shiny jewelry, that is."

babydriver27 05-23-2005 01:00 AM

Erica raised her hand.

"I've heard that they can destroy a person's belongings and therefore, should never be used as pets."

demented_death_eater 05-23-2005 01:01 AM

Kay raised her hand to answer the question. "Nifflers are burrowing creatures that have a predilection for anything glittering. They are often kept by goblins to burrow deep in the earth for treasure. Despite being gentle and affectionate, the Niffler can be destructive to belongings and should never be kept in a house."

serenasnape 05-23-2005 01:03 AM

Serena raised her hand, "Nifflers can be destructive if they get into your house. Their desire for shiny glittery things will make them search through everything destroying things as they dig, burrow, and knock things over in their search. And if your are wearing anything they desire, they will bite and grab at you to get them from you."

Aris 05-23-2005 01:04 AM

Raven nodded to Kay's words. You can always expect a Ravenclaw to give a good definition of what a Niffler is and what it does. She opened her text book and begin to write down the notes that was being said out loud. To make her notes more understanding she drew a picture of the creature and color coded it with her wand.

Josef Perry 05-23-2005 01:04 AM

"Yes, you both are right, although next time I'd like you to answer in your own words. Nifflers are very destructive and typically seek out shiny objects. What are some shiny objects they might go after?"

Josef Perry 05-23-2005 01:06 AM

"Raven, I know I made myself clear. Put away your wand and do not remove it agian until class is over. That will be five points from Ravenclaw and next time you will receive a detention."

aiangel327 05-23-2005 01:06 AM

Jen raised her hand. "Well since they go after shiny objects, probably coins or jewelry."

Angel_of_darkness 05-23-2005 01:06 AM

Shante raised her hand in the back of the room, "Something like a watch, or other jewelery."

serenasnape 05-23-2005 01:06 AM

"Jewelry like rings and watches, or gold or silver coins" said Serena raising her hand.

Potatohead 05-23-2005 01:07 AM

Annie rased her hand again, "Shiny jewelry, like rings and necklaces, coins, gaudy eyeglasses.."

Toro 05-23-2005 01:07 AM

Llewellyn raised his hand and answered, "Fillings?" he said.

pippin 05-23-2005 01:07 AM

Sighing, Jenna raised her hand once more. "Well, as stated before by myself and classmates, they may go after anythign particularly shiny. Spoons, coins, keys. But to become dangerous they may go after jewlery, biting and ripping to get them, which may be painful, especially if they're earrings." She paused at teh thought and continued. "They may shatter shiny glass, causing hazaardous shards sent flying."

demented_death_eater 05-23-2005 01:08 AM

Kay raised her hand. "They are looking for gold, silver and any other shiny substance that is valuable, sir," she answered with a steely tone of voice.

Aris 05-23-2005 01:08 AM

Raven bit her lip and put her wand away. She was in no mood to be treated as trash and didn't want to make herself seem rude but not followiung directions. She kept silent to herself and looked at her notes. She looked back up towards the professor and back her notes for no reason.

pippin 05-23-2005 01:10 AM

Jenna slackened her grip on her wand in her pocket, and instead removed her quill. She hastily wrote down the other objects nifflers may find along with her own suggestions as teh students called them out.

Listening to comments from other students Shante raised her hand once more, "They aren't exactly attracted to valuble objects. Though most shiny objects are valuble. They couldn't tell if it was worth anything or not. They would basically go for anything that catches their eye."

Josef Perry 05-23-2005 01:12 AM

"I can see that some of you are already thinking defensively. Think about what it means to have a tenacious niffler like this going after the fillings in your teeth or trying to bite off a watch or ring. You could get scratched or bruised. Or worse... it might succeed and you'd have one less finger."

babydriver27 05-23-2005 01:12 AM

Erica smirked at Raven's getting told off by Perry before going back to her notes. She fully remembered Raven hexing her in the hall and was glad of anything that would take her off her high horse.
