*Andriel thought for a moment. Kay, isn't it a male name? I have a friend who's name is Kay and he's a boy. Sucker...* |
Raven eyes eyebrows raised and eyes wide open. She smiled the Professor was speaking faster and his he seemed slighty happy. " I believe Ravenclaws and Slytherins have learned the ways Hogwarts should be. We trust, understand, and value your thoughts. That shows by the housepoints," she said hoping he would agree and become happeir. The happier the ministry official the less she would worry about being attacked with words. She smiled and looked around the room. |
Kay raised her hand and lowered it when she began to speak. "Professor Perry, I completely agree with you. Headmistress Leiden has done an outstanding job and I do trust all of my professors because they are strong, trust-worthy and law-abiding, sir." |
Nadia did not seem to have any thoughts of Perry's so-say praising. she simply lowered her hand and attended to her notes, a serious, matchine-like expression on her face. She seemed to be writing something at the mention of a thank you note. But no. Now, she had filled Borr's form for the Compliment Box, and that was one thing. There was no way she was writing a thnking note to Miss Leiden. If something, she was sure Miss Leiden shouldn't be treated like a fool. Too powerful an enemy if you will. Nadia's expression remained serious and unresponsibe while she thought all this. Only she spoke up again at the comment about the sudden silence, to say, "I think we have problems deciding. The food rule, the eight hour rule, the no loitering rule... all seem appealing," she concluded. Her eyes did moved to a person, however, for the first time showing a rather desguised interest. The mask of seriousness, of feeling of it, never wavering. |
*Gee, that Kay girl do really suck up to our DADA teacher. Ravenclaws...Andriel shook her head. |
"Then your uncle must be a very healthy man," Perry said with a serious look of concentration as he responded to Jaren. "I think that's enough praise of the rules at this time. It's obvious to me that you all have a good understanding of the rules, and it looks as if you are following them." He stared for a moment at a girl who's socks seemed to be not QUITE the right color before moving on. "Are there any questions at this time regarding the rules?" |
*I think I am going to be sick* Rave thinks. She looks at Andriel, rolls her eyes then smirks that famous slytherin smirk. |
"No professor thank you for the wonderful lesson" Rave replies brightly |
Alex raised her hand yet again. 'Yes Mr. Perry, I have one. If Miss Leiden said that there are no sweets allowed in the school, then how come Miss Melita is still allowed to give her students cookies?' |
Erica listened to what the other students said and was writing down their favorites and reasons with no more attention than was necessary. The class was boring her talking only about the rules and how great Leiden was for enforcing them. She constantly had to force herself to stay focused with the class so Perry wouldn't take off points from Hufflepuff. They had so little already. |
*Andriel caught Rave's eye and smirked slyly back. Finally someone who feels the same as me.* |
"I have no further questions, sir," Kay replied with a smile. |
Matthew was listening to everyone before he got really bored and decided to put his head down on the table...until the teacher decided to teach the class an impressive spell... |
Astoria smiled at Professor Perry and shook her head. She then sighed and looked around the room. GOD THIS IS BORING! |
Linnea raised her hand, "Professor Perry, Sir, is the reason we went over the rules today because the first method of defense is understanding and knowing how to follow rules? And, since I was a first year last term, is the reason there are rules stating not to talk about, or contact, past professors because of their, I've been told by respectful and trustworthy professors such as yourself, irresponsible and corruptible behaviour?" |
"Excellent question, although it isn't really appropriate to question the actions of your professors. Professor Melita has special permssion to serve her cookies, as she feels they are an effective teaching tool. Plus, she says she uses only organic ingredients and a magical substitute for sugar, I believe." |
*Andriel noticed that Matthew put his head down on the table, so she decided to do the same. She looked over at Astoria, and read her minds accidently (Andriel is a mind/thoughts-reader). I so do agree with you, she thought.* |
Perry rapped on the desk of a student who had put his head down. "You, sir, are clearly not getting your eight hours of sleep per night. Do you need some Pepper Up?" He turned to the question put to him by Linnea, the adorable little second year in his house. "That is quite true, child. Defense is all about knowing what is going on about you and responding appropriately. The first step is act in a way that will keep you from danger or harm. As for the professors you are not to speak of... we feel it would be best just to wipe their despicable behavior from your memory. That old, dangerous world is gone, and we should live in the present." |
Alex made sure she had her hand up before speaking. 'Ah well, they're still really good. Sorry, I didn't mean to question other professors' actions, it's just you're one of the very few teachers that asked us if we have any questions about the new rules, and I've been wondering about that for a while, so I thought I should asked,' Alex said.'I've got one more question though. Is punishment going to keep on getting harsher if students don't obey the rules?' |
*Andriel straightened her up at once when she saw what happened to Matthew.* |
"No, no, child... I completely understand. I know you would never call a professor's choice into question. I'm just suggesting that for the future. As for punishments... I understand some of my colleagues can get quite creative when pushed. I would suggest that you stay within bounds at all times. Continuing to break the rules will only lead to expulsion, and I can promise you that there is nothing more dangerous than the outside world." |
Dangerous? Erica thought. Give me a break, Perry. They weren't any danger to the students. I'd say the Ministry is a bigger danger and wiping the memories of people we were so fond of is not as simple as making a rule and enforcing it. Clearly, Erica felt, the Ministry needed to be schooled and fast. |
Linnea nodded, "I'll remember that, I won't speak, or think, of them or their behaviour again. I'm glad the ministry came in to keep us students safe, as everyone knows, we are young and very susceptible to the teachings of our professors, I'm so glad to be learning under respectible members of society, such as yourself. And I'm not ashamed to say it." She smiled up at Prof. Perry. |

Llewellyn kept his head down, and took notes. This is a boring class...Almost as bad as History of Magic. He thought to himself. He gave a nod to Erica and simply kept writing down the rules. |
