Alex raised her hand and waited to be called upon before answering. She learned her lesson from the Herbology Lesson. |
Astoria put her hand back down as Nadia had mentioned the rule she was going to mention. |
ooc: Sorry, guys, but you don't have to raise and wait to be acknowledged. We'll be here all day. Raise your hand and assume you've been chosen, unless we've taken a tangent onto another subject. I'll respond if necessary. "I like that rule as well, miss... and might I say that I find you far more appealing like this than in that silly hat you used to wear." |
'I think that the rule about no sweets aloowed and you must get eight hours of sleep is EXCELLENT because sleep affects your behaviour and it seems that many students have been VERY rude to the teachers, especially the ministry officials lately, and that to me is extremley rude and inappropriate. And the part about the sweets, I don't exactly enjoy myself, but there's always Miss Melita's cookies. It's a good rule though, because sweets always tend to make you more hyper and that way you are more likely to have an outburst in class or at a teacher,' Alex said, in a somewhat cold and unusual voice. |
Upon hearing Nadia's reply to Professor Perry's question, Kay realized it was her turn to speak. "Professor Perry, sir. My favorite rule happens to be the rule that prohibits loitering between classes. I strongly believe that students should be prompt in arriving to class on time and that loitering between classes allows students to get into mischief. When students get into mischief between classes, professors lose valuable instructional time because they have to discipline the rule-breakers. Also, those who loiter between classes have a tendency to show up tardy to a lesson and disrupt the educational process." |
Erica's hand was already in the air, so she answered. "My preferred rule would be number three, which states that there is no loitering between classes for the betterment of the student body. I agree wholehartedly with this rule since we are in a school and the purpose of a school is to learn and not gab with friends all day." |
*takes a seat and gets ready for class* |
"Well Professor, I think that the rule about not going to Hogsmeade without a note from a Professor is a VERY good rule because you never know what a student will do in Hogsmeade and the professor gets to decide if the reason is plausible or not." Astoria said with a grim smile on her face as she totally was against this rule and all of the other ones. |
"I think the rule about eight hours of sleep is very important. This way we have an efficant amout of sleep and are able to work in class." |
Rave decides to raise hand after all. "I believe that the rule about not wandering around at night is a good one. Who knows what trouble the students might get into." |
Perry nodded his head. "Yes, I agree. And of course you can see how brilliant the headmistress is... because not only are you getting enough sleep finally, but there is no late night mischief!" He listened to the praise from the other girls before turning to the latecomer. Miss Gryffindor, you are late. If that ever happens again, you will lose 20 house points. What do you have to say for your behavior?" |
Raven turned towards the Gryffindor girl and smirked. "20 Points for being late, absolutely psycho," she said in her head blinking at the Professor going back and fourth through the room. |
*Andriel sneaks into her seat silently and listens to the conversation.* |
Alex looked at the Gryffindor girl, somewhat disgusted. 'When are they ever going to learn?' she though as she shook her head. |
Rave rolled her eyes "Gryffindors!" she thought "think they own the school" |
"Well... I can see I've scared you into silence (ooc: 0_o), so let's continue on. Any last few want to share a favorite? Because I can tell you are all as excited about these rules as I am. I really suggest you all write thank you notes to the Headmistress for her thoughtfulness. And maybe you could mention that I suggested it. Anyone?" |
*Andriel looked over at Alex almost knowing what she was thinking when she saw the look on her face. I'm late too...* |
Raven gave Professor Perry another smile though she knew she wasn't that thankful for the new rules. It was just smarter to agree with it than disagree. " I must admit the new rules has made hogwarts safer and stricker. But I guess that is what we need," she said not trying to kiss up but not trying to make a Professor as an enemy. |
Astoria rolled her eyes as the Gryffindor girl came in late and got caught. When will those Gryffindors learn that they DO NOT rule the school?? |
Kay raised her hand and then lowered it as she began to speak. "Professor Perry, sir. I have another favorite rule. The rule happens to be Rule #1 which states that all students should show respect to the Headmistress and to all of the professors. I believe that respect is important because it creates a bond of trust between instructor and pupil." |
*Andriel rolled her eyes at Kay's answer. Kay's pure Ravenclaw student, she knew it for sure.* |
"At least being pure slytherin doesnt mean you have to suck up to the teachers" Rave thinks to herself and smirks "And it also helps hes there head of house" she addes in an afterthought. |
Perry was getting a bit excited. "Exactly, Raven! Exactly... and it is SO clear how much you students need discipline and order. Look at the scenes that have occurred already this term. Did those happen because people were following the rules, being respectful, and acting appropriately? NO... they were acts of will and violence that were probably all too common before... before. And Kay... I hope you all feel that you can trust your professors. The Headmistress has done an outstanding job of attempting to build a staff that is strong, trust-worthy, and law-abiding." |
"Rule 3 is one I find that particularly appeals to me. Rule 1 is also extremely important and I hope we, the student body as a whole, remember it well. Rule 7...sounds exactly like my uncle." Nobody would know how the last statement was supposed to be interpreted--as a compliment or an insult. |
Alex raised her hand again. 'Ohh, I also like the rule about no loitering between classes. It's great because you don't see the halls so packed and that way you know that students are not trying to get themselves in trouble,' she said. |
