Lesson #1 An Introduction to Charms
 

kasandra walks into the empty classroom
"hello professor" she said finding a seat "what do i need to bring out?"

Nadia was the first to arrive, just after Divination. She sat down and took some items out, including her wand.

"Good afternoon, professor Dae," she said as she took a writen piece of paper, planning on revising something before the class started.

Mithos enters the Charms classroom "Hello Professor. My name is Mithos, im a first year im really excited for the first Charms class" Mithos smiles and takes a seat in the front.

Jaren entered the classroom and took his usual seat near the back, on his own. He pulled out a roll of parchment, a quill and a bottle of ink, and waited for the lesson to commence.

"Hi Meghan" says Mithos as he sees her walking in the class

Bailey walked into the classroom and sat near the front. She took out her textbook and parchment and eagerly waited for class to begin.

Waves at Mithos. "Hey!"

Mithos waves back

*walk into the class rooma and spots Mithos. Walks toward his seat and sits next to him*

"Hey Mithos, hows it going? Your the only one I know whos here so I'm going to sit by you."

*smiles and takes out her wand*

Jamie walks into the classroom and took a seat. She took out all the proper materials that was needed for Charms. It was her favorite subject so she was excited.

Zack walks into the classroom and sits down in one of the empty chairs and he can't wait for the class to start. He says hi to Professor Dae and takes out his wand.

Mary Anne walked in and took a seat near the back. She was so excited to finally begin lessons!

Kenaki walked into the class room, taking an empty seat towards the front of the class.

"Hi Victoria, how are you?" Mithos smiles "oh yeah my wand.." Mithos takes out his wand...

Anelreas entered the Charms room and looked around the room. She spotted a seat a table next to Nadia's and made her way to it. After sitting down, she pulled out her quill and ink, parchment resting next to the bottle, and waited for the class to begin.

Mithos opens his Charms book and looks at it

He takes out his Charm's book and begins reading some of the facts in the book

Francis walks in and sits down. She places her quill and ink at one side as she smiles at everyone.

Alicia walks into the classroom and says "Hello, Professor!" before taking her seat.

Tera walks in and sits down she gets out her wonda and quiel

After having a horrible time in Divination class Mithos turns to some student "Do you know when will this class start?"

looks up from his book and says Hey everyone, and tells Mithos that he isnt sure when the class is starting

hi Peffessor Tera comes to her desk im new my name is Tera Healer

Francis looks at the other Ravenclaw boy with curiosity, and asks, "I don't know... By the way....Why did you storm off in Divination?"

"hi mithos" ; tera says

Hi, my name is Zack. And you are?

Hi Tera. Nice to Meet you!

Leah walks in and sees Milthos and goes over and sits by him "Hey Milthos. How are you?"

Tera Healer ( Looks: long white hair blue eyes , has a moon shaped mark on her forhead but its coverd my bangs, and is a tamer can change to eny animale and talk to eny anmal / creacher )

"Why do you think? you saw her! She didn't gave me a chance even when other people raised their hand first but had answered more than 3 times!! And she gives house points for a homework that i can't even do just because im a first year!" Mithos says in an angry manner, than he calms down "By the way Im Mithos, whats your name?"

Tera sits all by her self no ones by her she wonts some one to talk to

Walks over and sits beside Tera

" What was the divination lesson about? I completely missed it" alicia says to Mithos

"Hi Tera" when Mithos sees Leah sitting next to him "Hi Leah, Im horrible! how are you?"

ooc: Mithos my character is in my avatar... that how he looks...

"I am pretty good. Why are you horrible?"

"The Professor would pick those that raised their hand first! just completly stupid! she doesn't even give chances to other students! It was just an introduction, but there is homework,we talked about ways of Divinaiton, some of the forms of seeing the future..."

Francis nods. "I'm Francis.. I agree that.. we didn't all get to contribute since Gryffindor seemed to lead the class by being faster at raising hands... but perhaps, we will win when it comes to doing the homework.." she says with a contemplative tone. "Perhaps, you can talk to her about the first year rule. I am sure that some of the questions, you will be able to answer!... As I am sure, she will take into consideration the fact that you can ask people who were here last year" she says with an encouraging smile.

How are you Tera?

Mithos turns to Leah "Problems in Divination Class... but i willl get over it eventually.. Oh By the way Leah this is Fancis, Fancis this is Leah." Mithos turns to Fancis im not even talking to her again except to answer question! No even to ask her something!" *sigh* "We couldn't even roll our eyes in the class! She got on my last never i felt like standing up and leaving but i didn't want to lose House Points... I really hope we can win the House Cup wether with out without her help!"

Francis nods. "Hello Leah" she said with a smile. Returning to her previous thought, Francis added, "Well, there are plenty of other classes that you can attend.. And you can certainly drop Divination".

"I know..." *sigh* "I really wish this class would start right now"

"Hello Francis." Turning back to milthos she says "I am sorry about class." Then turning to face Francis she says "What year are you?"

"Second year. Francis looks around and notices the classroom isn't quite filled. "I don't think we will be starting class anytime soon.."

"Well anyways the only thing we can do right now is wait..."

:: Lauren walked into the classroom after coming out of Herbology. She went to the back of the room and sat down. She yawned and took out her note book waiting to take some notes. ::

Ashlie walks into the Classroom and takes a seat, looking around. Charms. One of the easier classes.

OoC: People. You aren't to chat in the Class threads. This means your character isn't supposed to talk to people. It gets annoying and Professors sometimes take points for it.

Anelreas raised a brow as she heard one of the students singing. She wondered if she would get in trouble if she placed a silencing charm on her.

It already started alicia says overhearing the conversation

*Merri walks in to the class, looking for some one she knows and spots Megz, she waves and takes a seat, waiting for the lesson to start*

*....walks in to the class and takes a seat* ;) Hi all! *pulls out charms book*

"I haven't read many for this class, i have been practicing in some Charms" he whispers to Victoria

Raven entered Professor Hanamon classroom quickly noticng an empty seat next to Kali. She sat down quickly and pulled out her quill, ink, parchment, and book. She waved at Kali and looked at the professor intentivily waiting for the introduction to begin.

*Julia walks intot the classroom and takes a seat by Mithos. She looks over at him and smiles. She takes out her notebook, quill, and ink.* "Hey Mithos!" she whispers.

"Yeah i did the Divination and Astronomy homework..." Mithos sees Julia "Hello Julia"

*Julia looks around the classroom.* "I hope the class will start soon..."

"Yeah... i hope the same thing.."

*Akako took her seat quietly in the back of the room, taking her book out immediately to avoid the conversations of the others*

*Kirstie entered the classroom, sitting far away from the students who were chatting. She got her books and quills out of her bag and while she was waiting on class to start, she started planning her divination homework*

Kenaki, growing tired of waiting for the teacher, began to balance her wand on her middle finger. She succeeded, if only for a second, to keep the wand balanced.

*Had watched Kenaki out of the corner of her eye, looking up as she succeeded in balancing the wand temporarily. She spoke shyly* "I could never do that when I tried. Can you show me?"

ooc: first of all sorry for the ooc but in a school students can talk in the class untill the Professor doesn't start the class and the Professor has not started the class. When you are at school and you get to class before the bell rings can't you talk?? to me it doesn't look like the class has started... but anyways im sorry for chatting in the class and i won't do it again. happy? sorry for the ooc again.

OoC: Fair enough. But this isn't just a regular class. Chattering in these threads clogs up the boards. It's a lot easier for Professors if everyone doesn't chatter so. I know some Professors state it in their rules and take points for excessive chatter.

Ashlie opened her book, reading through the pages. She was exceptionally eager for Charms class.

Ivana walks in to the class and looking for someone she knows. She take a seat in 3rd row and get 'Standard Book' from her bag.Read...

Rosa walked in and sat down in the back of the class. she opened her charms book and turned pages, watching randomly pictures and reading bits.

::Erica walked into the classroom and took an empty seat. There were already a fair amount of students waiting for the professor to begin. She took out her wand, some parchment and a quill and waited for the class to start.::

*walked into the class carrying a Charm book*
*saw a Hufflepuff girl sitting slightly closer to the board - theres an empty seat next to her...*

"may i sit here, miss?"

*Merri starts doodling on her parchment, getting a little impatient, and very excited for the class to start propper*

Serena prepared her desk for the start of class, putting out her books, parchment, ink and quill.

Meghan can see Merri is getting impatient. "Hey I am getting sooo impatient too!" Starts drawing on a spare bit of parchment.

*merri draws a grid on her parchment, and placing a 'nought' in the centre square on the grid, merri turns the paper towards Megz, grinning*

Rosa looks up and is surprised to see that she didn't miss the class by reading her book with so much interest that she'd forgotten the time or place she was. she looks around and notices the class didn't start yet. she looked around and saw everyone talking animatedly. then she turned to another girl and asked: 'are you also a first year?'

Amy walked in and sat down, pulling out both parchment and ink for the Charms lesson.

Vishu walked into the Charms class.Charms was one of her favourite subjects.She looked around and didn't see anybody she knew.A bit sad,she went and sat on the last bench in the last row right at the corner.She was so bored.She took out her parchment nd ink and quill and waited for the class to start.

lizzie walkes in to the classroom, spots a fellow classmate, hi arnt you rosa? can i sit here?

Giggles then draws more silly doodles. Thinks "I can't draw as well because I still have a bandage on my arm." Draws the Giants Squid exploding. Shows it to Merri.

*laughs* no more than it deserves! how's the arm?

Pouts like a kid. "Well its better!" Giggles... Sighs and wonder when the lesson will start.

*The Professor looks around the room as the last of the students find their seat and smiles warmly*

Good afternoon class! I am Professor Hanamon and I will be your Charms Professor for this term. Now if everyone will get out some parchment and a quill we will begin our first lesson.

*As the students get ready to take notes, the professor strolls to the blackboard and begins to write and talk at the same time*

Today's lesson will be an introduction to Charms. We will be discussing what exactly charms are and why they can be useful in everyday life.

*turns back around to face the students*

Now, if everyone is ready to begin, who can tell me exactly what a charm is?

Serena raised her hand, "Charms are a type of magic spell used to enchant an object to behave in a way that isn't normal for that object. Like when using a summoning charm it brings the object to the you that you name.

Charms can also be spells that do not include Transfiguration which is a spell that changes the nature of the object. In other words, if a spell is not a Transfiguration, it is probably a Charm.

In addition, a charm is something positive, while a curse which is the opposite, is something negative.

"Charm is an action or formula which has magical power. And also the chanting of a magic word or verse; incantation," Drusilla says.

Nadia raised her hand at once, "Charms enclose a great deal of spells if not every. Usually spells are enclosed and divided into categories depending on what utility they provide to the witch/wizard that use them. For example, most jinxes and anti-jinxes (which are jinxes used for defense) are taught in Defense Against Dark Arts, and every spell that alters the material or physical form of an object or objects are most probably due to Transfiguration teaching. Personally I find it difficult to find a category that describe every charm. After all, losts of charms are taught in DADA and there's many complicate Transfiguration spells that they seem to have in common, like with the Vanishing Charm.

"My best guess is that Charms are each and every spell which makes an object acts in a way it wouldn't usually would according to their nature and without changing the phychical structure of it. You can make a teapot dance, an object explode, something change sizes or move on its own. You can even 'charm' people... I would dare assume that's where the name come from, from the idea that a will can enchant another."

She finished proudly for Charms was one of her favorite classes indeed.
