HM Hendrik sits behind his desk, deep in thought. He is arranging his notes and books as he prepares for his first lesson of the new term. Off to the side are several containers. Some covered, some exposed, all with interesting creatures inside. In the far corner is a rather large tank filled with water and covered with a large tarp. From inside, one can hear something splashing around. He walks over to the tank and tosses in a few horseshoe crabs and returns to his desk and continues to work.

After feeding his...er...well, having fed the creature in the large container, HM Hendrik returns to his desk to resume his class preparation when he is visited by a MoM owl. He takes the parchment from its leg, offers it an owl treat and begins to read the letter.

"Hmmmm....this is interesting...."

He quickly stands and crosses over to his collection of books and searches for a specific title. While searching for his book, HM Hendrik gets an odd sensation that he can't quite place. It was nothing like last term though it still made him a bit uneasy.

*thinking to himself* "...perhaps I should consult with a few of my predecessors...they might have a better grasp as to this odd feeling I am experiencing.....that or maybe I just need to see Nurse Lotus for a bit of indigestion......"

*Mickey Shultz stands outside the closed door. In his arms a large book with part of the title peeking out, the letters Eternal Vig. He pats the spine.*

Dare I trust him with it? He's a great wizard, but has he the honor such a trust requires?

*Mickey shakes his head and leaves without knocking.*

"Oh it's no bother....CoMC will start next week. Hope to see you in class!"

*Smiles* That's great, thanks headmaster, can't wait! *skips from the office, but checks on the threshold and turns back* ahem Headmaster....i was, well just wondering if perhaps you maybe needed any help with the lessons this term, i mean i know i'm only a third year, but i'd love to help you out if i could *smiles pleadingly at Headmaster Hendrik*

HM Hendrik smiles at the young student and returns to looking for a specific book on his bookshelf.

"Professor, if we’re not comfortable with quiditch would it be all right for some of us American students to play quadpot on our off hours? The rules are much simpler, hence there’s not much to cheat at. In fact most schools back home don’t even feel the need to have a faculty member referee."

Assertive, the Divination teacher enters the Office, dismissing a Gryffindor she passed on the way. With a look of uncertainty coupled with urgency, clearly displayed in her eyes and on her face, she gestured to the Headmaster, in need of a private word.

"A Hufflepuff Journalist, Skiv, has asked for an interview pertaining to my new uhhh 'body', shall we call it. I'm unsure as to whether I should do it and if I do, how much or how little I should tell him, given that we have a certain person in the school. I'm also a little unsure as to whose hands the interview will land in, for I'm sure you'll agree with me that we don't need the Ministry snooping around all over the place and finding out exactly what went on last term. That'd put all our jobs in jeopardy, including yours. What do I do?" she asked desparately, feeling as though she was perhaps placing too much pressure into the mentors hands.

Nora Leiden knocks on the door, noting that Kobus already has a visitor. "I'm sorry to interrupt, Headmaster. You had asked me to come by, and I found a free moment for you." She shrugs before adding, "I can come back later. I wanted to thank you for the office space and to ask you a few questions. We need to speak before I start visiting the classes and the staff members."

She gives the Headmaster a stern look, reminding him, even though she may not need to, to be limited in the advice he gives her. "What say you then Headmaster, yes and tread carefully or an outright no?"

*walks into the room, very shy like, and moves the front of the HM office*

"hello HM. I'm Victoria Latin, I've been going from professor to professor introducing myself. I thought it would be a good idea, so then I'll be known by them. Anyways, as I was saying, this is my first year, and was sorted into Slytherin, which is spendid. I'm glad. I've herd promising things about your class, and have been eager at attending it. Its a pleasure meeting you, you're very kind. Good day HM.

*walks away and scans the room noticing jars and some cages/containers. When finally reaching the door, turns and smiles a huge smile and walks out, fealing some what more confident, meeting the HM wasn't as nerve recking as she though. She giggles at this thought and walks away*

Hm Hendrik studies Professor Riddle for a moment, raises an eyebrow and grins before he addresses Miss Leiden.

"Yes, yes, of course Miss Leiden. Professor Riddle was just stopping by to...express some concerns about this term."

He walks over to Professor Riddle and places a hand on her shoulder and looks directly into her eyes. His stare is deep and he projects his thoughts into her head.

"Marcella, I have nothing to hide. The events of last term were unavoidable, tragic as they were. If the Ministry feels that it needs some sort of reassurance that Hogwarts is safe, I am more than happy to oblige. I would accept the interview with Skiv but tread carefully as you put it. I think an outright refusal would cast suspicion upon Hogwarts as well as the Staff. We need to treat Miss Leiden with the respect that is due a Ministry official, though....I would give her a wide berth as well. Please do not hesitate in bringing your concerns to me when ever you feel they are warrented."

"Professor Riddle and I were just finishing up."

HM Hendrik removed his hand from Professor Riddle's shoulder and gave her a slight nod along with a look of reassurance.

"Please stop by again, Marcella. I always have time for Staff concerns."

He turned again to Miss Leiden.

"Now, Miss Leiden, what may I do to help?"

The Professor nods as Kobus looks into her eyes. Relying perhaps too heavily on her skills in Divination he tried to convey his thoughts to her as best he could.

Knowing he made perfect sense and that he was quite right in 'saying' an outright refusal would cast suspicion, she smiled politely and thanked him.

"Skiv's waiting for me in my Office. I shall go give him the good news. If you'll both excuse me..." she muttered quietly making her exit, dodging Leiden's eyes as she slid through the door and into the hallway.

Ganymede knocks and comes in. Scratching both her ears, she smiles and says, "Hello Headmaster. I'm so happy that your alright since what happened at the end of last term. All the Slytherin are grateful for you being Headmaster. See you in class, Professor." She says looking at the floor before leaving. As she leaves she drops her bag. "oops!" Picking it up she puts her hair down from her ponytail and leaves quickly. ::

Nora waited until the students had left. "I'm interested in finding out your version of what happened last term. The students are asking me about the Book, which they shouldn't know anything about. The teachers are being openly hostile. I appreciate all your cooperation, but I think you need to be honest with me. What happened last term? Do I have your permission to talk to the students and professors about last term?"

[Selena enters the office] Excuse me headmaster. [Selena said as politely as possible considering the circumstances] but as part of punishment for reading The Sexiest Wizards magazine I had to wash and delivery undergarments.

Hendrik knew that Ms Leiden would eventually get to this, he had hoped he would have a bit more time before she asked these questions...he paused for a moment before answering her. He thanked the student for bringing his undergarments to him and led her to the door. After she left, he locked the door and placed a Silencing Charm on it so they would not be overheard.

"Ah, yes the Book in question....as you well know our Ministry, as well as several other Ministry officials from other countries, placed this Book in our care several terms ago. Last term I unfortunately overlooked the fact that certain members of my staff could 'access' it's hiding place. I have corrected that oversight and the Book is safely locked away at the moment.

As far as the students are concerned, well every term we have several rather overactive students that seem to be in the all wrong places at the wrong times and hear parts of conversations that are not ment for their young ears, extendable or otherwise. Now the events that took place last term were very unfortunate indeed but Voldemortist had someone working on the inside. This student has been sent away for rehabilitation. I honestly feel that she was confronted at a very impressionable age and knew not what she was getting herself into. I'm confident that she will one day return to us a new and stronger person for what she went through.

The wards that guard the castle are all in working order and the castle is quite safe. I'm confident that my Staff and I are fully prepared to defend the castle if Voldemortist were to return. I'm not so sure he will be able to return anytime soon. My sources tell me that our last confrontation took a lot out of him both physically and...." HM Hendrik cracks a small grin and a chuckle, "emotionally. I believe his arrogance got in the way, which is why he was unable to leave with what he came to take."

HM Hendrik walked over and sat down behind his desk to continue the conversation.

"Now it is unfortunate the my Staff is treating you with hostility, I will speak to them and explain that you are here to dispell any rumors that Hogwarts is unsafe for the children. I believe you should be able to speak with any of the Professors, just try not to disturb them while they are teaching. I'm sure the students will be eager to speak with a Ministry official as well. Feel free to arrange your office to suit your needs for these interviews."

Hearing a knock on his door, he took it as the perfect opportunity to end the questioning...he politely rose from his seat and said...

"Ah, someone else is in need of my assiatance. If there is nothing more, Nora...I should remove the Silencing Charm and see what this student requires. If you need more answers, please stay and I'll be more than happy to answer any futher questions."

He crossed his office and removed the Silencing Charm on the door and answered the knock.

sorry to disrupt you as i am sure you are a busy man but i would like to know when the next COMC classes will be happening and i was wondering why so many classes haven't started yet

"Alright, Kobus. Thank you for your help." She smiled sunnily at him and rose gracefully from her seat. "I'm sure I'll have more questions to ask later, but at this time, I'm satisfied. I'll be around speaking with the students and staff. Please come and visit me in my office at any time."
