::Erica pulls out her stuff needed for this class and turns her text to page 282 like everyone else. She readies herself for notetaking and looks up at the professor waiting for class to start.::

Open her book at page 282.and write her name on a piece of parchement and wait for class to start.

::Angel opens her book to page 282 and takes out a quill, ink, and some parchment for note taking and waits for class to start::

*Julia opens her book to page 282. She also then takes out a piece of parchment, a quill, and her bottle of ink. Julia sets it in front of her neatly in a position easy for note taking. She looks up at the professor and she smiles.*

Alirighty then, let's begin shall we?

*the professor begins to read aloud from her textbook*

Accio, prounounnced AK-ee-oh or A-see-oh, is the latin for "to send for or summon. Placed together with the proper wand movement is can cause an object to fly to the caster, even over quite some distance.

Now class, who can tell me what is one of the important things to know before casting this spell?

*Raises hand* "That you need to have total concentration" replied Selena

Raises hand. "You need to say it properly."

*raises hand* "You need to know exactly what you are summoning and concentrate on it."

*Nadia raised her hand at once*

"Have focused your mind on the object you are summoning. It's a sort of alienation you have to feel with your surroundings, as if you and everything around you are the same thing and one. Concentration is a key factor. You of course have to have an idea of the whereabouts of object you are trying to summon, but the alienation with the place will provide that as well. Those powerful wizards who can just feel their surroundings will almost know exactly where to look, even if the object had moved slightly from its previous possition. Not much though; not matter how powerful a wizard you can be, there's always limitations...

"And the second most important thing is, of course, maintaining that concentration. Otherwise the spell will stop working mid way to you.

"The there's is pronounciation... a good knowledge of the enviroments, of the object, and orientation... Finally, One of the most important aspects: You need to pronounce the object you are Summoning just after the incantation, as in 'Accio chair' or something. Powerful wizards can summon without pronoucing that incantation, of course, the most powerfulthe wizard the less they will need to say it aloud."

Nadia finished, knowing that there was no need to say that much, but oh well...

Serena raised her hand.

"You need to know the general location of the object you are summoning."

*Julia raises her eyebrows at all of the answers. She jots down the main things that everyone said and she thinks of other answers. Julia raises her hand.* " You need to know the way to do it. Like where to point your wand to cast the spell. Or what your spell is about to cause happen. Also, how to say your spell like if there are more than one ways to say it, and you need to know how to conjure it, for example how you need to move your wand and swish it." *Julia puts her hand down wondering if she is correct with all of those examples.*

Lee laughed

i guess you would need to know the wand movements, the incantation itself, have full concentration and know where the object your summoning actually is

Yes, yes!! You are all correct!

*pulls her wand out of her robe*

Now that we know exactly what Accio does, let us practice the proper wand movement for the incantation to work.

It is a very simple wand movement, you simply move your wand in a counter-clockwise circle then flick it, like this...

*the professor turns to a glass jar sitting on a shelf across the room and said in a lout clear voice "Accio!" as she moved her wand. The jar silently and slowly drifted across the room to Professor Hanamon and right into her waiting hand.*

See? it isn't hard at all. Now as you can see I have placed a feather on each of your desks. If you will all take them to the other side of the room then stand across the room from them, we will spend the rest of the class practicing this charm.

Zack concentrates on the feather very hard and does the wand movement and says the incantation. The feather moved to Zack but not no where near as good as the professor, so he puts it back and tries it again...... (repeats many times)

Xavier picks up his feather and takes it to the other side of the room. He returns to his desk, points at it and says "Accio!" Nothing happens. Once again he says "Accio!" The feather slowly drifts towards him.

Lee pays attention on his feather opposite him. He quints his eyes a litte and raises his wand, he does the correct wand movements and says

Accio

The feather starts to make its way along to him, but Lee got a bit too cocky that it was working for him and loosened his concentration, by doing this the feather fell to teh ground half way through its journey to reach him

Lee laughed and continued practising

Serena placed her feather across the room and made her way to the other side.

"Accio!" she commanded, and her feather, but not just her feather, a few of the other students feathers started to come as well. She turned to see if they had cast their charms yet, but she saw they hadn't even raised their wands.
"Oops!" she said, but being totally distracted, all the feathers fell to the floor.
"I'll put all of yours back when I get mine. Sorry." she said sheepishly.
"I guess I was a little over eager. I'll concentrate better next time."

Birdy took a few moments to focus on the feather lying a few feet away from here. Then, she brushed her hair back, raised her wand, and flicked it slightly. "Accio!" she commanded, stumbling over it slightly. The feather quivered and scooted over the wooden desk, but then lay still again. Frowning, Birdy composed herself for her second attempt.

Meghan does the proper wand movement... "Accio!"
The feather lifts slightly and drops.
"Accio!"

Finally the feather comes to her.

Hannah picked up her feather and tuke it to the other side of the room. she walked back to her dask. she did the the correct wand movements. and said: Accio! but nothing happend. she tryed again this time the feather moves slowly to her (dose this again)

Feather in place, Kay muttered the incantation to himself under his breath several times to make sure he got the correct pronounciation, as his accent tended to garble it and render the spell ineffective. Standing at the end of the room, he raised his wand and performed the correct movement. "Accio! A-see-oh! A-see-oh!" His feather shot up, did a few loops, lost heart halfway and started fluttering to the floor when it was caught by the second attempt at the incantation and zoomed towards him and, because Kay was surprised it was actually coming, shot up his nose. The short Chinese boy spluttered and sneezed the feather out onto the floor. Rubbing his nose, Kay looked around sheepishly to see how the other two were doing.

*Julia sets her feather across from her and she walks back away from it. She turns and faces her feather. Julia raises her wand and points it at the feather. She says "Accio!". Her feather moves towards her about an inch. She sighs and prepares to make another attempt. She concentrates on trying to do the spell correctly. She points her wand at the feather again and says "Accio!". The feather floats across the room into her hand. Julia's eyes get big. She lets out a deep breath. She thinks she still needs to practice though. Julia prepares to try again.*

Natalya picks up her feather and walks to the end of the room, where she drops and watches it float left to right, left to right down to the floor. Removing her wand from her front robe pocket, she turns and walks back to her desk. Sitting down and closing her eyes, she focuses on the image of feather, its white floppy fringe sprawled out on the stone, its spine slighty curled inward...Nat opens her eyes and flicks her wand. "Accio!" The feather rises up and soars some distance towards her, but then falls short beside the professor's desk. "Accio!" Nothing happens this time. She flicks her wand more elaborately. "Accio... ACCIO!!" Again, nothing happens...
She had done this many times before and with larger objects, so why couldn't she do it now? Frustrated, Nat gets up and retrives her stubborn feather and returns it to its original place on the floor. Taking a few steps backwards, she tries again, this time remembering to counter-clockwise circle her wand and then flick. The feather rises upward again and successfully floats down into her left hand.

Serena had to fight being distracted. It was interesting as well as entertaining to watch the other students attempting, and many succeeding at casting their charms.

"Accio!" she shouted as she moved her wand in a counter-clockwise circle and deftly flicked it focusing as hard as she could on only her feather. The movement of the feather was slow, but it lifted from the floor and glided across the room into her outstretched hand.

"I guess if you stay focused, it works alot better!" she said to herself smiling.

Mithos focused on his feather, he pinted his wand made the correct movement and said "Accio" the feather didn't move so he tried again "Accio" and the feather moved but not all the way to him he kept trying..
