raises hand and adds "Astronomy found its beginings when early human beings recognised the inevitable influence of celestial bodies on their everyday lives. This fueled their fascination with the heavens. Ancient sky watchersshifted from mysticism to mathematics. This is how the science of astronomy was born.

LilRavenclaw 01-21-2005 09:22 PM

Whispers. "Bout this? A little..."

Feeling that the definition had been quite completely covered, Aixla decided to pose a question that had been bothering her for a few days now. "Professor, how much do wizards know about astrology as compared to muggles? I mean, my dad just sent me a copy of an article about the Casini mission to Titan. They think that Titan has a methane cycle similar to our water cycle. Is that the kind of thing the wizard community knows? I mean, we don't have space shuttles or probes or anything."

Evy 01-21-2005 10:09 PM

Evy sits at her place, listening to all the people answering the question. She doesn't dare to raise her hand and patiently wait for the teacher to introduce the subject of the lesson.

She agrees with Aixla though and wonders what the teacher will say 'bout that.

NannyMcPhee 01-21-2005 10:22 PM

Ashley sat in her spot smiling eagerly. Astronomy had always been her best subject and she couldn't wait to get started again. She made sure she had everything she needed and looked around at the rest of the class, then back up at Professor Dainsie with an excited expression

Angel8807 01-21-2005 10:32 PM

Angel also realizes that the question has been answered to the fullest extent. She decides to ponder on the question that aixle had asked. It was a good question after all. Did muggles know more then us or do we know more then them?

Makani 01-21-2005 10:45 PM

Anelreas entered the Astronomy Room with a tired look on her face. She found an open seat in the back of the room and took a seat. She heard answers being shouted out as to what Astronomy was. She took out a piece of parchment and began writing tid bits of what the other students were saying. This was her first year of Astronomy and she did not know much about the subject, if anything, but was deeply intrigued on the subject.

NannyMcPhee 01-21-2005 10:47 PM

Hearing the question possed by one of the Gryffindor Students, Ashley raised her hand to add a point "Muggles are actually very advanced when it comes to Astronomy. It has fascinated them for decades and they have come up with numerous capabilites to explore the vast areas of the universe. Muggle scientists are now discovering that the planet Pluto might not even be a planet at all, but merely a collection of interplanetary dust and "junk". I personally think that because of the capabilities Muggles have come up with, they know a lot more about the starfield than given credit for."

Starbreeze 01-21-2005 11:05 PM

Mithos agrees with Ashley and says "Yes, muggles use their technology to study Astronomy.. i agree with Ashley! I don't know much about them but i have read book about Muggles and their technolony.."

NannyMcPhee 01-21-2005 11:09 PM

Ashley looked over at the Ravenclaw student who agreed with her and she smiled a "Thanks" then looked back up at Professor Dainsie

Starbreeze 01-21-2005 11:30 PM

Mithos smiled back...

GanymedeCraft17 01-21-2005 11:54 PM

:: Ganymede sits quietly and draws a dragon on her parchment. She liked Astronomy, but other things were on her mind. She looked up and gave Nadia a stare. She wished she could read minds.::

Swishy_Willow 01-22-2005 12:06 AM

Rosie writes down everything that everyone had said. She was surprised at how much everyone knew, and assumed that anything she would have said, would end up being a repeat of something said already. She sits in her seat, and waits for Professor Dainsie to continue.

Makani 01-22-2005 12:07 AM

Anelreas looked up from her piece of parchment and recognized one of the girls in the classroom. Anelreas thought that she looked like the one who had been with Nadia the night Nadia had gotten a bit crazy with butterbeer. She wasn't sure, but she knew the girl looked familiar.

Evy 01-22-2005 12:28 AM

Evy was getting bored by all the whispering in the class. She decided to look out the window instead and tried to clear her mind.

Mike_The_Mighty 01-22-2005 12:38 AM

" But some Muggle things have been caused by wizards. For example when A muggle sees a ' flying star ' it could be a simple spell. So a lot of things are fake. " Jake said from the back of the room.

angelwings 01-22-2005 01:14 AM

Eric nodded at Jake. "The 'shooting star' could also be a muggle satellite," he said.

Hermione_loves_Ron 01-22-2005 01:17 AM

"But many 'shooting stars' are real," Ashlie pointed out. "They've been able to get pictures of the flying metorites."

mysticelf 01-22-2005 01:26 AM

Alicia adds "Sumarians and ancient greeks also studied astronomy. But that far back... the ones that studied and made the first findings could have had magic blood coouldnt. Just how long has the magical community been hidden? This was back in ancient times.

Hermione_loves_Ron 01-22-2005 01:28 AM

"Magick has been around quite a while," Ashlie pointed out. "But I think their findings were astrological. That much I'm fairly sure."

mysticelf 01-22-2005 01:30 AM

alicia then raises her hand again and says to the professor "We have kind of gone off topic a bit though professor, what is todays lesson about? Maybe in a future lesson we could dig deeper into the orgins of astronomy and the muggle-magic relationships there?

spacepirate4 01-22-2005 01:40 AM

Amy raised her hand.
"Wuh-" Amy took the blueberry lolli from her mouth and continued. "Professor, does Muggle knowledge of the known universe advance our own knowledge?"

draeya 01-22-2005 02:05 AM

Hannah grabbed a lolly, she new some of the stuff but not really, so she sat in her seat and did't say a word!

LilRavenclaw 01-22-2005 02:15 AM

Meghan looks around at all the people asking questions at once and rolls her eyes... Writes something down and stuffs a lolly in her mouth.
