| Term 7: Sept- Dec 2004 Term Seven: The Draught of Ephemera (Sept. 2053 - June 2054) |

11-29-2004, 03:23 PM
| | What in Merlin's Beard... Term7
We've all experienced it. Lay off SS for a few days, or a few well-chosen hours of the day to eat/work/go to class, and when you return...
BAM. Did anyone get the number of that truck?
Anyway, this is a thread where you can catch up on the latest happenings of the school plot, instead of wandering the hallway lost and confused...
To be rather frank, from the top:
The staff has decided to brew the Draught of Em...Emphe...okay, a potion that will bring the ghosts back to life.
Lord Voldemortist has caught ear of this events through his servant (identity unknown) and has arrived at Hogwarts, to date having murdered seven students: Two Gryffindor (Ron, Kelli(?)), One Hufflepuff (?), Three Ravenclaw (Kagome, Mike, Patricia) and Two Slytherin (Ralph, Nico). He currently resides in the Forbidden Forest. A "state of emergency" has been declared, and all students are to stay within the castle walls. Professor Rae and Professor Lainley are on the grounds to retrieve the bodies of the latest students killed in the Gamekeeper's Hut. Standing guard is a small group of students. LORD VOLDEMORTIST HAS ARRIVED! There is a decidedly one-sided battle going on outside the school gates, and already one student has been killed (Gryffindor?). The conclusion of the battle is still to be determined, but cast your bets. Lord Voldemortist is now in the Entrance Hall, and being attacked from basically all sides. Backing him is a Slytherin girl Ari, though he doesn't appear to care or notice. He's just been stopped in his tracks with a Full Body Bind casted by Professor Rae...but will it hold him? After managing to reach the hallways, Voldemortist was not only tailed and attacked by Professor Rae and her enthusiastic helpers, but faced a homemade obsticle course that resembles a full-scale version of something out of a "Home Alone" movie, prepared by both Nadia and Ganymede. It caused him a little trouble, but after apparently using Legitimency on Sir Puppington, Voldemortist discovered a secret passageway to bypass the Hallway of Ultimate Messes. Rae has hit him with an Impediment Jynx at the entrance to the passageway, and Ari has been subdued...for now. It's all up to Proffesor Rae to stop the Dark Lord. In the Spirit Room, a small band of students is preparing to ambush Voldemortist should he make it this far. All are disillusioned and anxiously waiting. Headmaster Hendrik's status is unknown.
Professor Rae duelled Lord Voldemortist in the secret passageway and into the main room of the Spirit Room, where she was stabbed for her efforts and left to die while Voldemortist made off with the BoM to who knows where next. Sir Spots attempted to help by performing the ritual in hopes that, with a body, he would be able to escort Professor Rae to the Hospital Wing, but the attempt failed. Now we have no Sir Spots.
Professor Lainley has left the Hospital Wing, desperate to reach the Spirit Room in time to help/save Professor Rae. Right now she's having difficultly getting across the leftover booby traps in the hall (oops!) and is escorted by Terry Weasley and Jaren Kymers, who will probably insist on backing her up (chronicler's note: count on it )
Professor Rae has been taken to the Hospital Wing.
The potion is almost finished; and another potion, a counter potion, has just been brewed by three students (Nadia, Terry, Raven) under the "instruction" of the school Poltergist Samea.
Sadly, the "counterpotion" Samea gave the students caused the drinker to become encased in iron. Raven being the unfortunate one to consume it first, has been escorted to the Hospital Wing to see what can be done about it.
The potion is completed, and has been moved to the Spirit Room, where whatever it is will commence. The ritual (or ceremony, whatever) is well underway. Marcella has been restored (hurrah!) as well as Professor Lainey (hurrah again!) but the latter seems to have some minor difficulties. Marcella has moved herself (or has been moved) to the Intensive Care Unit in the Hospital Wing, where a Slytherin student has stumbled upon her in her newly restored and alive form. (That would be me. ) Hendrik seems to have detected a strange presence around the main room, so stay tuned...
Kris Airlia has been restored, but considering she should have died 50 years ago, she returned into the body of a 90-something year old. Not pleasant. Also, the Slytherin who first met reincarnated Marcella collapsed to the ground at around the time Lord Voldemortist appeared and killed the student (draw your own conclusions, I'm not telling why. ) Currently he has recovered and has returned to stand guard over Professor Riddle, but will he be allowed to stay?
Professors Airlia and Pheonix have awakened...somewhat. Hendrik has left to confront Lord Voldemortist (HUZZAH!) DUEL OF THE FATES: Aaaand the results are in!! HM Hendrik v.s. Lord Voldemort: Round One at the Entrance Hall Result: Hendrik 0, Lord Voldemort 1 HM Hendrik + Hendrik + Hendrik + Hendrik (did I miss anyone?) v.s. Lord Voldemort: Round Two at the Castle Grounds (near Forbidden Forest) Result: Hendrik 1 + BoM, Lord Voldemort 0 (Note from Dark_Chimera: He stole that cloning idea from Monkey King!) HM Hendrik: Hahahaha! very Funny! I never even heard of Monkey King! I thought it was a somewhat original idea....*sigh* Oh well. Overall victor: By a hair, HM Hendrik! (The crowd goes wild. Cheers, confetti, several tired students and staff collapse.) Current status of downed staff: Professor Riddle: Asleep Professor Lainley: Asleep Professor Rae: Asleep Professor Pheonix: Semi-unconcious, very sick Headmaster Hendrik: Awake, in Intensive Care Unit, watching Professors Professor Airlia: Semi-concious(?) Sir Puppington: Gone forever... Nurse Lotus: Working overtime.
Season: Early to mid winter. Lots of snow. Stormy because of HM Hendrik clone changing the weather.
Status of student body: Zzzzz....
Time: I don't know anymore. Late afternoon?
OOC: I feel like a sports announcer..."And a left hook! A right hook! And heeee's out!" |

This is so confusing. I know this thread is so ppl can catch up but I've been off this for a week, and I think I get the jist of it *cough* .
Anyhu, have the bodies actually been retrieved yet, from the lawn that is. Was that completely random? Am I degressing? Will I make my question, clearer?
Have the bodies been taking away from outside, and will there be some sort of funeral, or memorial, or service to comemorate?
It's just....................I feel so unloved!

Hmmm...good question. I think they're still out there, actually, since Rae never did mention taking the bodies into the castle, and then Voldemortist attacked o_0 Poor you.
Hendrik will be writing to the dead student's parents shortly (so his posts say) but that's all I know so far...
Does that help?

Ok. I have been gone due to all this crazy action that I don't want to be involved with. I don't like all the killing and stuff so I had to go. But now I am confused because I don't know what the crap is going on.
Voldemortist dead or alive?
Professor dead or alive
Hendrik dead or alive
I am really ****** because I have been incased in armor and the Professors are acting like they don't know how to make a smiple potion and get me free. I think that was a set up! |

To answer:
Voldemortist--alive but probably furious, to put it kindly. Gone from Hogwarts.
Professor who? Rae--alive, Lainley-alive, asleep, Pheonix--alive, very sick.
Hendrik--very much alive and kicking, thank you very much.
For more info, read the first post in the thread. The verb tenses make no sense, but otherwise it's readable. :-)
Oh yeah. What did Kay (Dark_Chimera) tell me? "The effects a month shall last". Poor you...but I guess that's just what happens when you take advice from a poltergist. Still, it's better than lurking around "invisible" like me...

Nope...I just disillusioned myself, so I'm the human chameleon, pressed against a wall so nobody can bump into me. Which you nearly did when you went to the Intensive Care Unit. Nobody's noticed...yet.

I think that was a set up! It WAS a set-up! It was Samea's lil joke and the professors played along not warning us.
Have people noticed there's this strange time-hole in the Intesive Care Unit? No? Oh, no matter then, but I'm poting there next so there might have some kind jump in time-space for what I am about to post. If that made sense. (Missed me? No? Meanies! )
Also, lunao, it was said that there would be some kind of memorial soon for teh people who asked for it, so I am guessing Patricia will appear there We will let you know once that happens^^

A lot of the professors aren't on as much as the students so, I think that's where time passes more slowly for us than it does for the students. Time is always a big issue and we tend to just manipulate it for our own means. LOL I do know, however, that Airlia is pretty out of it and is sort of in a coma-like state which she has awoken from once. She's just too old for this stuff *pets her*

Well, here's how I deal with the 'time issue'. If a scene is going over for days, then essentially only minutes have passed, and it's stuck in a sort of "time stop", that is, it will fall back into 'normal' time (i.e. real time) once the scene is over unless specified. Chat threads like the common rooms or the lake are always in 'real time', and classrooms operate on time stop as well, meaning they were supposed to take place on the day that they started and end on the same day.
Did that make any sense, or am I just confusing everyone?
To Ari: Heh heh. Score!

Yes, that's a very good explanation about the time.

Therefore Nadia's plan!
If you have seen my post by know you should know what I am talking about =P (anything is a tool for lil IC-Nadia~ observant girl, isn't she? Lol) ... plus I got to post the Healing-potion thing... hehe (lol, at least I know Lotus read it )
Time-related, I didn't know if Airlia was awake or still sleeping (according to last-lost post, she had awoke but then again... when was that post?) and considering Backslash's theory... I would say I have just broken all rules of space-time posting there, or we are in the second / third day after the potion-brewing thing.
Aw, I have just been away a day, and I missed you guys so much! *hugs people randomly*

Considering Hendrik hasn't replied after so long...I think it's safe to say the Intensive Care Unit has dropped out of time-stop. More or less. I hope...gah.
Hmm, I'm wondering how I can organize this thread when term starts again in January. Should I mash all the info in the first post to a summary and stick it at the top in fine print, and keep writing, or start a new thread? Any suggestions?

I'll lock this thread and rename it for this term. Then, you can go ahead and start a new thread for the next term using this name (I really like it).

Well, yea I think it's a good idea too. I pretty much figured out the time-thingy (as I noticed that some of the threads' times don't really match up), and I followed along a bit and time passes too for me according to my own timing agenda.

I would like to know how much my character´s parents will be knowing about these incidents. Like has it all, or even half of it, been in the Daily Prophet or something?

I guess that's for you to roleplay. If having muggle parents maybe you can deem keeping secrets from them and so they wouldn't read the prophet and get worried... my character is pureblood but for some reason her parents are just hysterically clueless. I blame it that actually the Daily Prophet doesn't know, nor does the Ministry. Only way I can explain the many death without the headmaster being fired every year, lol
Besides, Nadia's parents just live in their little own world...

I think the Ministry has yet to know the full details of the events at Hogwarts, so whatever comes out in the papers (if anything at all) would be scant and not at all informative. I agree that the whole business would be kept very quiet, at least until the end of term.
Jaren's uncle, being a Squib and also magic-paranoid, doesn't subscribe to the Daily Prophet, and anyway he and Jaren aren't on the best terms, so on my part, Jaren's respective guardian knows ziltch about Hogwarts and Lord Voldemortist. Which can be both good and bad, I suppose...

I would say... these are very good questions, and very appropriately timed too. I would be aware of these issues as we go into the next term. And that's all I"m sayin'.
*pokes Rae* Is she awake yet? I'm having time issues too. I want to play with her. *pokes her again*

I will have to decide then myself, whether they´ve heard any rumours or not? That´s ok. Would anyway be nice to know, what Daily Prophet tells about these things, because Drusilla´s mother always reads it very carefully... And she is rather ill-tempered too . Besides, Drusilla wasn´t sent to Hogwarts for no reason. But I´m not sure if she ever dares to tell about that reason to anybody, being a little easy to scare nowadays. Especially now she´s heard all kinds of rumours...
Pureblood her parents are, but she don´t want to go around bragging about that, because she hates her mother´s attitude towards all the muggles, I guess. Drusilla herself thinks that some muggles are quite nice.
As for myself, haven´t been roleplaying much, and never in the net, so if I´m a little clumsy with my posts, I hope you don´t mind. I seem to play my character sometimes in my head, but when I finally get to the computer, she seems to have nothing to say. Poor little Drusilla, I´ll probably have to imagine her some friends to the Hogwarts . As a matter of fact I already have, but I´m not sure if imaginary friends are allowed. And I´m not talking about some funny invisible ones. I cannot believe she´s been there whole autumn, and still doesn´t know anybody? But I guess this begins to be a little off topic, so off I go!

(Nadia's parents are excentric, almost more than herself, but I believe you already noticed that...)
Changing subjects for a second, I have a question that should be posted here:
End of Year Ball - Will it be taking place?
I'm asking because, as far as I undertand, today ends the school RPG (and we should be boarding the Hogwarts experss tomorrow? lol) and I've found no signs of a thread or celebration for Gryffindor's victory starting. Either I guess we are behind schedule or you don't plan on having a ball?
Just wondering.

Let's say this:
The Daily Prophet knows pretty much as much as the Ministry and the general student public know, although the students may know a bit more. The Prophet would publish that students had died unexpectedly this term and that Voldemortist was suspected as being behind it. It would also publish that rumors had gone about that Voldemortist himself had been seen on the grounds and had entered the school for some unknown reason. Perhaps something about the ghostly staff all being returned to their living forms (except Spots), although the students and outside world would have no idea how that had happened.
Basically, a bit of the Rita Skeeter line of journalism... a lot of speculation and a few facts sprinkled in. I think parents would be very uneasy about sending their kids back next term.
