We've all experienced it. Lay off SS for a few days, or a few well-chosen hours of the day to eat/work/go to class, and when you return...

BAM. Did anyone get the number of that truck?

Anyway, this is a thread where you can catch up on the latest happenings of the school plot, instead of wandering the hallway lost and confused...

To be rather frank, from the top:

The staff has decided to brew the Draught of Em...Emphe...okay, a potion that will bring the ghosts back to life.

Lord Voldemortist has caught ear of this events through his servant (identity unknown) and has arrived at Hogwarts, to date having murdered seven students: Two Gryffindor (Ron, Kelli(?)), One Hufflepuff (?), Three Ravenclaw (Kagome, Mike, Patricia) and Two Slytherin (Ralph, Nico). He currently resides in the Forbidden Forest.

A "state of emergency" has been declared, and all students are to stay within the castle walls. Professor Rae and Professor Lainley are on the grounds to retrieve the bodies of the latest students killed in the Gamekeeper's Hut. Standing guard is a small group of students.

LORD VOLDEMORTIST HAS ARRIVED! There is a decidedly one-sided battle going on outside the school gates, and already one student has been killed (Gryffindor?). The conclusion of the battle is still to be determined, but cast your bets.

Lord Voldemortist is now in the Entrance Hall, and being attacked from basically all sides. Backing him is a Slytherin girl Ari, though he doesn't appear to care or notice. He's just been stopped in his tracks with a Full Body Bind casted by Professor Rae...but will it hold him?

After managing to reach the hallways, Voldemortist was not only tailed and attacked by Professor Rae and her enthusiastic helpers, but faced a homemade obsticle course that resembles a full-scale version of something out of a "Home Alone" movie, prepared by both Nadia and Ganymede. It caused him a little trouble, but after apparently using Legitimency on Sir Puppington, Voldemortist discovered a secret passageway to bypass the Hallway of Ultimate Messes. Rae has hit him with an Impediment Jynx at the entrance to the passageway, and Ari has been subdued...for now. It's all up to Proffesor Rae to stop the Dark Lord.

In the Spirit Room, a small band of students is preparing to ambush Voldemortist should he make it this far. All are disillusioned and anxiously waiting. Headmaster Hendrik's status is unknown.

Professor Rae duelled Lord Voldemortist in the secret passageway and into the main room of the Spirit Room, where she was stabbed for her efforts and left to die while Voldemortist made off with the BoM to who knows where next. Sir Spots attempted to help by performing the ritual in hopes that, with a body, he would be able to escort Professor Rae to the Hospital Wing, but the attempt failed. Now we have no Sir Spots.

Professor Lainley has left the Hospital Wing, desperate to reach the Spirit Room in time to help/save Professor Rae. Right now she's having difficultly getting across the leftover booby traps in the hall (oops!) and is escorted by Terry Weasley and Jaren Kymers, who will probably insist on backing her up (chronicler's note: count on it

)

Professor Rae has been taken to the Hospital Wing.

The potion is almost finished; and another potion, a counter potion, has just been brewed by three students (Nadia, Terry, Raven) under the "instruction" of the school Poltergist Samea.

Sadly, the "counterpotion" Samea gave the students caused the drinker to become encased in iron. Raven being the unfortunate one to consume it first, has been escorted to the Hospital Wing to see what can be done about it.

The potion is completed, and has been moved to the Spirit Room, where whatever it is will commence.

The ritual (or ceremony, whatever) is well underway. Marcella has been restored (hurrah!) as well as Professor Lainey (hurrah again!) but the latter seems to have some minor difficulties. Marcella has moved herself (or has been moved) to the Intensive Care Unit in the Hospital Wing, where a Slytherin student has stumbled upon her in her newly restored and alive form. (That would be me.

) Hendrik seems to have detected a strange presence around the main room, so stay tuned...

Kris Airlia has been restored, but considering she should have died 50 years ago, she returned into the body of a 90-something year old. Not pleasant. Also, the Slytherin who first met reincarnated Marcella collapsed to the ground at around the time Lord Voldemortist appeared and killed the student (draw your own conclusions, I'm not telling why.

) Currently he has recovered and has returned to stand guard over Professor Riddle, but will he be allowed to stay?

Professors Airlia and Pheonix have awakened...somewhat. Hendrik has left to confront Lord Voldemortist (HUZZAH!)

DUEL OF THE FATES: Aaaand the results are in!!

HM Hendrik v.s. Lord Voldemort: Round One at the Entrance Hall

Result: Hendrik 0, Lord Voldemort 1

HM Hendrik + Hendrik + Hendrik + Hendrik (did I miss anyone?) v.s. Lord Voldemort: Round Two at the Castle Grounds (near Forbidden Forest)

Result: Hendrik 1 + BoM, Lord Voldemort 0

(Note from Dark_Chimera: He stole that cloning idea from Monkey King!) HM Hendrik: Hahahaha! very Funny! I never even heard of Monkey King! I thought it was a somewhat original idea....*sigh* Oh well.
Overall victor: By a hair, HM Hendrik! (The crowd goes wild. Cheers, confetti, several tired students and staff collapse.)

Current status of downed staff:

Professor Riddle: Asleep
Professor Lainley: Asleep
Professor Rae: Asleep
Professor Pheonix: Semi-unconcious, very sick
Headmaster Hendrik: Awake, in Intensive Care Unit, watching Professors
Professor Airlia: Semi-concious(?)
Sir Puppington: Gone forever...

Nurse Lotus: Working overtime.

Season: Early to mid winter. Lots of snow. Stormy because of HM Hendrik clone changing the weather.

Status of student body: Zzzzz....

Time: I don't know anymore. Late afternoon?

OOC: I feel like a sports announcer..."And a left hook! A right hook! And heeee's out!"

If Voldemortist says Tobias is dead, then Tobias is dead. I'm not about to miraculously revive him, because that wouldn't be realistic. Every battle has its casualties. (Yes, I sound harsh, but I knew what I was doing.) Yeah, so if you value your cat's life, don't let it charge into the fray.

A note to you Ganymede...when Voldemortist reaches whatever area you booby trapped, you'd better post what happens or he'll just go by unscathed. And we wouldn't want that, no?

you do realize that those things don`t actually do any damage. all they do is cause an annoyance & smell bad.
not to mention the fact that if you places them there, not only can volde not get to the book, but neither can the staff members trying to protect it. & since apparation is out of the question, it looks like everyone loses.

unless of course you`re the dark lord of all powerful evil.

*curses* Oh great! A day I had to travel to Bs As and I miss all the action, and my plans! *clenches teeth, bums head on PC desk* (Sorry, Backslash - and sorry Jaren =P) *sighs* so either my plan goes to waste or I'll have to stay for the game to resume forcefully until I can try it... goody

Yes Nadia, I think the time has come to panic. Maybe Dumbledore will come and save the day.

Well now that the cat's out of the bag (at least in ooc) the plan was for Ganymede to make the trip to the Spirit Room harder, and to hamper his progress there. Though the dumgbombs were supposed to be thrown at Voldemortist...there are extras

No problem. Yes, the term I was referring to was when you were in the SS Quill staff.

I have to agree with the others that this is the most interesting term of all, the only term wherein I followed the plot. I didn't have any interest on the last two terms, and in my first term, I was not seriously RP'ing even though some people "died." Hehe, I seem to have the habit of joining the school RP's when it reaches the climax. *sends flowers to the creative Hogwarts Staff team*

It's only distraction, hehe... Playing our parts in all honesty, none of us have the minimal power to fight "him"

We can only try stopping him a little.
... though if things continue like this, the students could also try some desesperate things...

And seriously Ari. How close can anyone hope to get in order to land a punch? They'd be Avada-Kedarva-ed out of existance. (cracks knuckles) But hey, maybe it may work.

Oh, and Ari? You do know that your character should know nothing about this, right?

What in Merlin's Beard is going on?! --> Ari has just revived the Dark Lord, that's what's going on

I can't believe no one saw that coming - c'mon, students! :cheer: You should have taken Ari out WAY before... lol

Yeah, that's always one of the restraints we, as a staff, have. Like the students, there are various levels of participation among the staff members and some are on at different times than others. So, it's not really so much that the professors have disappeared, so much as the people who play them either 1) only have an interest in teaching and mild interest in the story, 2) do not have time for much more than teaching, or 3) are just not on at the times some of these events are taking place. As you can probably tell, we've been catering to the times the main characters for a particular scene are available to come online.

*nods* I guessed as much, though also some choose the worst time to be invisible ...make me think it's not on purpose (that's what you want US to htink so then McAiken can come from behind a suit of armour and shout: "Yes! Haha! It is me and I have been absent while performing this complicate perfect plan to make the orbs stick-shaped so I can poke the Dark Lord's eyes")

OK, I'm now being hysterical

I think it is unfair the us deceased people aren't allowed to post school.We should atleast be able to be a ghost in school.

you wouldn`t be able to do much as a ghost anyways. just talk. you can`t hold a wand or anything like that so it seems pointless.

ya you probaly wouldn't be able to do much but it would be nice to talk to your fellow students and just float around.

not nessisarily but everyone who is killed can`t be brought back as a ghost. it`s just improbable.

& look at it this way. . . the term is almost over & you`ll be restored back as humans. it`s just a few more weeks until next term.

The reason we don't allow you to come back as a ghost is because then, everyone would be killing off their character and we already have plenty of ghosts as it is. Next term, don't wander off where you can get yourself killed.

(clears throat then practically yells) Please, com'on! Students, everyone fighting is your temporary ally. Can you *please* stop turning on each other because some "first year idiot" is in the fray?!

Anyone like Ganymede and Nadia's "Home Alone" obsticle course? What do you think, Lord Voldermortist? Funny or annoying?

Work together people!...makes me want to join in the fun, but Jaren has his assignments. Go Rae! And for some reason I'm feeling sympathetic to Voldemortist right now...

EDIT: Nadia--Jaren is *not* stupid! But it's tempting...

Backslash, I don't have the slightless idea what you are talking about. You mean the fights in between the students? *frowns* Actually, I'm growing a headache, it's difficult to understand... everything... I'm just winded. Mmmh... the thing is, it is completely stupid for a student to try fight a powerful dark wizard, a murderer, or at least unless you are Harry Potter and for some reason you get inserted in those troubles without a say on it, and yet have the luck to survive every single year. No, the students should have two weapons: their wit/intelligence and their free time (=P). Now it seems its all about fighting, and that's an inconvenience for students. Up to now Ron Potter helped releasing Professor Rae from a spell, and I feel I had my two cents (^^) with my and Ganymede's obstacle course. That alone made my day, I don't know if I need to have any more participation (nor that I will have it); Nadia is out from enviroment, like a fish without water, lol. On the other hand, and which is the most dizzing, I don't think the mods(err... whoever planned the story-line more like^^) pretends us students to fight.... (like with Terry kicking people out, that gives away the intention plainly, jur). It's unlikely for professors to allow it too, I mean the students fighting, so I wonder what's in store now. Up to now the main term-mystery is trying to decipher what's going on in our dear mods' heads

Kris: I know! *imitation of IC-Nadia and raises hand frantically* What about this: Put a warning in the main page about the new system, and it can say something like "play stupid and you are done: This RPG will kill your character if it acts unwisely" (=P ok, maybe put a little less stupidly) - for lunao1, she couldn't know she could be in danger before, so next term all people know what they are facing in advance.

By the way, side note, I'm killing my subplot. It doesn't make sense anymore anyway - for the second time too; it was supposed to be a subplot for last term, but you know, no time and all... Don't be sad, it might not be completely over yet. (It is so, very so confusing to have my character named after me... I've just found an ooc-post in which Nadia-IC was talking, and by the look of it, not the only one. I think I'm being driven mad by my own characters... *shudder*)

(Kris I saw you updated the Hogwarts, A History -- greatly done! I love the articles there^^ -- so here's some things from my notes you can use. Some are probably useless, others, interesting, like the one about the storm during the Quidditch mach ;P )

THE MYSTERIOUS TAPESTRY - Facts:

*The first attack. The place: Hallway. Time: Jan 7 2004, 05:27 PM. Victims: Might Enon (Astronomy), Soir (Divination) and Meg (Trans). Found also: A Book 'Dialectical Interpretations of the Art and Science of Arithmancy' *Headmistress Draconia has put a charm on the hallway corridor to keep the students away, but it is only temporary.

*The victims said things like "Stop the boom", talking about a light and strange images.

*Madame Noire & Madame Rowena have been seen to send urgent letters. Later Rowena sends another saying: "It has begun...” - Jan 30

*Madame Rowena found recipient for potion to take Tapestry out, will take a week to brew (Jan 18.)

*The Arithmancyprofessor strange behavior and resistance upon people entering her office.

*Charms professor’s strange behavior.

*Prof. Hendrik saying: "If something were to fall into the wrong hands, our world as we know it would never be the same." Rumours about a book.

*THE LIBRARY has been trashed by either someone, or something humanoid, wearing a tattered cloak. It's now freezing cold in the library.

*Prof Realtan saying: "REMOVE THE TAPESTERY! REMOVE IT NOW! REMOVE THE TAPESTRY! BEFORE WE ALL BECOME BOUND!" (Jan 17 2004, 06:20 PM)
*DADA: PROFESSOR TARI’S OFFICE Thrashed!

*HOM: PROFESSOR NOIRE’S OFFICE Thrashed!

*The teachers are putting up dark magic detectors throughout the school.

*Hendrik releals information about the Tapesty and what's hidding inside - says: "The Book of M******* (Mysteria) could be very dangerous if it fell into the wrong hands. I've heard that contained in it's pages are spells to make one immortal or extremely powerful and the ability to wreak general havoc on anything and everything. I'm not so sure that it wouldn't set off one of these DM Detectors itself..."

*DM Detector in the Charm's classroom going berserk

IMPERIOUS CURSEON CHARMS PROFESSOR ELENSAR:: “Well, I've been forgetting things really often lately. Ever since that tapestry incident, I've had incidents where I'm somewhere that I don't remember going to in the first place. It's almost as if I'm sleep walking," she says biting her lip in worry. (Hospital Wing)

*The spell is off and professor Elensar is trapped in the classroom with an imperturbable spell. *Potions classroom has been exploded.

*(Almost) all the School Staff gets trapped inside the Antechamber. Antechamber corridor, Professor Phoenix speaks an ancient language (Latin, of course): Im roem lamela, tuso craen saltae = To all who may hear, cough intoxication/on the morrow at least/at all events.

*Hendrik (CoMC) has been injured by the attacker in the forest when he took the class out to collect Mooncalf dung. He's headed for Herbology. ('Lurker' in the Forbidden Forest)

*Dark storm arise during the last Quidditch Match: Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw.

*(Year Ball)Marcella_Riddle (Emma) is murdered by an invisible force (*/y2) Reason unknown. ("No one knows quite how it happened: it was like a force from no where hit her and next she was on the floor dead.") Loryen and Hendrik took the body and carried it out of the Hall and won’t let students out of it.

*(Year Ball) Elensar started squirming on the floor; a ravenclaw student, lightstar, is sure to have heard Elensar told it was Voldemortist.

*(Year Ball) Professor Noire and Starcastic are found dead in the corridor.

*Loryen, Hendrik and Tari fight off Voldemortist.
