Lord Voldemortist entered the secret passage but, before he could close the door, a spell shot his way and his progress was slowed- as if he were walking through molasses instead of air.

The door slid shut behind her and Rae was stuck in pitch darkness. She didn't want to light her wand to give away her position, but she couldn't see to move. "Stupefy," Rae cast off into the darkness before dropping low and creeping down the passageway. She thought it was just a long, straight shot up to the Spirit Room, and it was possible her spell could hit.

Yet another spell was cast his way but, he managed to cast Protego in time. The spell rebounded into a wall and the light faded to darkness once again. Lord Voldemortist pressed on through the passageway, through the dark, ignoring whoever had followed him for the time being.

The light from the spell had lit the passage enough to give Rae a general idea of where she was going and where Voldemortist was. He was only about 20 feet ahead of her and moving fast. There wasn't much she could do to stop him. He was much stronger than her and way ahead. All she could do was try to keep slowing him down and hope Hendrik would be on the otherside. She cast four rapid blasting spells, spraying rocks into teh corridor ahead of Voldemortist. Maybe she could cause a small cave in.

He was still having trouble seeing in front of him but, he heard four blasts hit the walls on either side of him. Then, he felt several rocks impact his face and decided to light his wand tip. Chunks were taken out of the walls in front of him and the ceiling had begun to crack. He decided to hurry on when a particularly large chunk fell on his head and he fell to the gorund.

Rae paused in the corridor. She couldn't see what had happened, but some large mass had fallen ahead. In trepidation, she crawled at a slow pace, until finally she ran into something soft at her feet. Kicking out, Rae decided it was not a rock, meaning that Voldemortist lay unmoving at her feet. "Lumos!"

A light seemed to penetrate his eyelips, causing him to stir, his head aching. He sat up to find the professor crouched beside him. "So, what are you going to do next, Mrs. Rae?" he sneered, picking up his wand which lay next to him.

She pointed her lit wand right at his head, the tip resting against his skin. "Nox," she whispered, and the wand went out. "You know... I've never used an Unforgivable before. I thought I never would, and I thought I'd never have enough rage and hatred to use one. But you killed my Alexi. And now you've killed my students. So say the word..."

"Expeliarmus!" he shouted, as he pointed his wand at the auror. He stood up and looked at Rae. "Was that the word you were looking for, Professor?" he sneered before stepping over the rubble and making his way further down the path while she scrambled to pick up her wand.

The blast threw Rae back against the wall and she felt yet another bruise forming. Her wand was missing, and it was almost insulting to see Voldemortist turn his back on her like that. It meant he didn't see her as a threat at all. She searched in the dark for her wand before her fingers closed around it. She scrambled to her feet and hurried after the Dark Lord.

He reached out with his hands and felt a brink wall at the end of the secret corridor. He waved his wand and the brick began to move like a doorway and Lord Voldemortist stepped into the fireplace of the Spirit Room.

Rae shook a mental fist at herself as light flooded the passageway ahead. She stepped up her pace and slid into the Main Spirit Room, looking around for the location of the book and for Voldemortist.

Spots was actually going so fast that he sped right through the passageway and out into the adjacent corridor. He turned and floated back tohrough the wall and into the now empty secret passageway that led to the Spirit room. He noticed the light at the end of the hall and heard voices. Slowly he moved down to the doorway and was met with the scene of Voldemortist doubled over in excrutiating pain seemingly caused by a spell cast by Professor Rae. Hendirk obviously made the correct choice for his DADA Professor. Spots floated inside the doorway and into the room.......

With the Book of Mysteria in hand, Lord Voldemortist hurried back down the the secret passageway, making sure to dodge the fallen stones from his earlier duel with the professor. He finally came to the other end. Just a little bit further and I'll be gone, he thought as he pressed the secret door open to the Hallways.
