After feeding his...er...well, having fed the creature in the large container, HM Hendrik returns to his desk to resume his class preparation when he is visited by a MoM owl. He takes the parchment from its leg, offers it an owl treat and begins to read the letter. "Hmmmm....this is interesting....not at all what I expected. Well class work will have to wait. This needs my immediate attention."
He quickly stands and crosses over to his collection of books and searches for a specific title.... |

hi professor,
i have a little complaint about one of the ghosts by the name of Samea
i walked into the commonroom and a balloon filled with flobberworm goo fell on my head and when i loked up she was there. then she said something about me being a first year. for one i am proud to be a third year and i do not think that ghosts should be able to behave in this manner.
just thought you would like to knoe. hope you are well.

| "In responce to your pet eagle, kagome, I have no problem with your eagle visiting Hogwarts, however, our Thestrals might. You see they consider any bird of prey to be a threat and unfortunately would attack it. Our Thestrals are trained not to attack our post owls but have had little to no exposure to eagles. I believe it would be wise to leave your eagle at home and visit it over the holidays. goldengirl05chs, yes, Samea....well she can be somewhat of a pain and her pranks are normally harmless. I will see if one of the other professors or school ghosts will have a word with her. Thank you."

Check there if your name isn't on list when the first club meeting is held attend the meeting then PM Professor Rae again. She's very busy like most of us who serve as professors so give her a chance to catch up things since the first week or so of the term is a very busy time.

Brandon walks into HM Hendriks office and steps forward. "Headmaster, I was wondering if I could start a new topic for band lessons. I already have a few people who I'm teaching to play the guitar. Just asking. If it is ok I would like to put up posts on the bulletin board, as I need other students to help me teach, not to mention to get the word out."

I have a question. Are we required to attend the actual class to complete the homework and get credit for it? Or can we just do the homework and turn it in?

Nadia entered the place with quite a strange propositions.
"Professor, I was designing an idea for Inter-House Unity you might like. Nothing too serious, but only ask for a place to have for personal meetings between different members of the School. Alike the Spirit Room maybe. The thing is, every time there's a problem we would like to have our say and can solve it by our own, between the students. A wide mesting area. The House Tables won't do, as they are uncomfortable at having to chose where to sit, and you get mized with the people who only want some food and light chatting. And the bathrooms? Only gender meetings aren't much."
"There's a second reason why I was thinking this, and that is that this way of dealing with problems can become quite terapheutic. Many kids have problems they would like to speak about, or only make friends."
"If you are in need of a person who can regulate the place, I think I can help if I have your trust in this."
Nadia nodded to emphasize, waiting for an answer.

"Well, Tomshottie, I'm sure you could recieve credit for just turning in the homework though attending class is benificial...some professors give out points for answering questions in class as well. And Nadia....I can appreciate the fact that you would like an area where the students can get together to discuss school issues as a whole. Might I suggest getting together out on the grounds somewhere or perhaps in Hogsmead on the weekends? I do favor Inter-House Unity however one should also remain loyal to one's own House. Serious issues should be discussed in your Common Room and really serious issues should be brought to the attention of Staff. Now if you will all excuse me...I need to speak with Professor Bannister about a very important matter."
Waving his wand at the door, a tray of sour lemon candies levitated beside the entrance to his office. "Please enjoy one of my favorite Muggle candies on your way out....."

Nadia walk out of the classroom. Remain Loyal? She was outraged. Should have expected such comment from a.... She sighed. Good Merlin...
Nadia frowned and looked as Bannishter entered; Hendrik knew Hogsmeade wouldn't do. Finally getting out of the place, she smirked. Oh how she knew this people... No need for mind-reading.
Remembering Jaren words, she continued her way. Pity there was no way to unmask them or let them know Nadia was mad without causing a racket...

| "Yes, Professor, thank you for comming. I have something I would like you to look at. I got it from a family in Southern Wales. I had rescued a young girl from a Kelpie near the city of Newport. The family was so grateful they gave me this family heirloom and told me that it had been in their family for generations. The patriarch of the family had told me a story that surrounded the trinket. The amulet was supposed to be one of two items created by Merlin himself before he died. The other was a sword. This family came into possion of the amulet many generations ago when an ancient ancestor of the partriarch was said to have know Merlin personally. He called it the Merlin Medallion and it was supposed to be the symbol for life, the sword being the symbol for death. Together the two were images for the balance of good and evil. The partriarch never paid much attention to the story surrounding the medallion but kept it for sentimental reasons, plus the fact that it was made of pure gold. I remembered not wanting to take it but the old man insisted as payment for saving their daughter. Well you can see that it is somewhat tarnished, I've tried to clean it up a bit and translate some of the writings....but I havn't had much luck deciphering what it says. Care to take a look?"

Hogwarts RPG Name: Siobhan Garrett Graduated | *Professor Bannister looked toward the Headmaster in complete disbelief. Here it was--a medallion thought to only exist in fables passed down through generations The power it posessed was unimaginable, even by the most powerful witch or wizard. Of course, one would need to understand the markings to utilize it's powers. She continued to stare at it as if it was going to vanish if she attempted to blink. The tarnish had not hidden the beautiful runes which formed a circle around the entire medallion.*
"Oh, bugger. I can't see anything without these blasted glasses!" *She pulled out a pair of purple-rimmed glasses from one of the various hidden pockets which lined the inside of her robes and slid them onto her nose. The glass was thick, making her eyes appear several times larger than normal.* "From what I gather, the runes at the top roughly translate to 'keep in thy posession and let all harm pass thee over." |

HM Hendrik seemed to be somewhere else when Porfessor Bannister responded to his question...he had a blank look on his face though it appeared he was in deep thought. "Wha? Oh yes, yes, by all means! Please do what you need to decifer the script. I would be anxious to find out what the medallion can tell us..."
He seemed to fade off again in deep thought. "Oh, sorry about that! Yes do what you must.....and let me know the minute you find out anything! Thank you!"

| "....yes...yes, I'm fine...just thinking. What you've told me today is very important and could prove very useful. I believe Madame Rowena has some literature that I need to review.....more pieces to this puzzle I think...but listen to me...thinking out loud! I'm sure I sound rather odd to you. No matter! So have you started your classes yet? Mine have just started.....covering dragons, though I'm sure the students could have used that information last term." *cough*

After sliding it into yet another pocked, she patted it gently to make sure everything was okay.* "My classes started last week--odly enough, we covered medallions during the first lesson. The students really seemed to take an interest in it even though Runes is a rather hard subject." |

| :ballcap: Sir Spots floats into the Headmaster's office after Mr. Shrine left in a hurry, slightly out of breath. "Headmaster, everything's is in position. We are ready for the first Quidditch Match of the term. The Pitch is in excellent shape and the new grass that Professor Phoenix supplied has taken on beautifully." Spots leaned in a bit to whisper,"and I assume the safety precautions have been put in place to protect such a large number of students gathered in one area?" Seeing the Headmaster nod, Spots continued, "as usual, I will wait for your signal tomorrow to begin the match. I have spoken with the two Captains for Hufflepuff and Slytherin and they've done a wonderful job at preparing their teams." Spots knew the Headmaster's time was preciuos. "I'll leave you for now, Headmaster, I look forward to see you in the VIP box," Spots nodded and left the room.
