I love quidditch, but could you explain to me who is allowed to join and who is not.

Once we get a captian in place we will have try-outs for the open spots. Open spots will all depend on how many returning quidditch players we have. And yes I got your PM, but I am waiting to give everyone a chance

Congratulations to Mrs. Weasley, your Hufflepuff Quidditch Captain!

Thank you, Madame Charmin. As I'm sure everyone knows we will be having our first match hopefully starting this Saturday October 16. It is imperiative we have a team by then. The regular team is open to any students who are second year and above. If you have just been sorted at the beginning of this term, you are considered a first year student and will qualify for the reserve team only. But don't get upset, reserve team members can also actively participate in the game.

To qualify for the team, you should have read as many of the Harry Potter books as you can, know and understand the SS Quiditch Rules, and own a Copy of Quidditch Through the Ages. Alot of the questions will come from this book. If you do not have a copy, please check out harrypotterlexicon.org. It has a section devoted to Quidditch and contains alot of the information contained in that book. JK Rowling gave Harry Potter Lexicon high marks on her website. The following positions have not been filled:

Since we all live in different time zone, there is generally no set time when matches take place, and they generally run for several days. For that reason you will be expected to periodically check the Quidditch pitch thread to see if the game is active. To find this thread, you go first to the Hogwarts School Home page and access the By the Lake Thread. From this page you access the Quidditch pitch. I wish I could tell you more about how the game will run, but this is Spot's first term as Quidditch Referee, so I have never played under him before.

Hufflepuff also needs a cheerleading team. I frankly no nothing about cheerleading and also don't have the time to organize this team as well. If anyone is interested in captaining this team, please pm me. In the meantime, I will also accept applications for the cheerleading squad and pass them on to the captain when named. Do you actively participate at Hogwarts ie attend classes and do the home work? I don't know why but in the past the powers the be have wanted to know this information as proof that you actively post on snitchseekers.

Here is the official list of Quidditch Guildlines Professor Puddington has posted outside of his office. Please read them before submitting your applications.


If you wish to be a Quidditch Team, you must fulfil all of these requirements:

- Must have read OotP (Lots of questions on that during the games)
- Must own a copy of the real Quidditch Through the Ages (most questions come from it)
- Must have good general knowledge on HP and Quidditch (you don't want to let your fellow team members down by not knowing what Harry's middle name is, for example)
- Must be active in the forums (online atleast 4 times a week for atleast 20 minutes)
- Must do homework set out by teachers (So I know you have been online and actually doing something)
- Must understand the official Quidditch rules well
- Must be a second- or third-year (No first-years allowed, sorry)
- Must show good house spirit!

The only acception to the "no first-years" rule is the Reserve Team. First-years may try out for that if they wish.

Also, first-years can be cheerleaders. But cheerleading you may discuss amongst yourselves - I don't organise it, so if you want a cheerleading team, you may make one. Please don't PM me about being on the cheerleading team, as it's not my decision.
