| Term 7: Sept- Dec 2004 Term Seven: The Draught of Ephemera (Sept. 2053 - June 2054) |

08-30-2004, 07:37 PM
| | In a corner of the Gryffindor Common room next to the large portrait of the Quidditch Cup that Gryffindor captured several years back, you can hear a faint sound as if the large crowd in the painting was still cheering the victory. A ghostly figure appears wearing the charred, scarlet and gold uniform of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team.
“Welcome Gryffindors,” the figure says, “I am Theodore “Spots” Puppington. My teammates nicknamed me “Spots” saying that, as the seeker, I could spot the snitch from a mile away. I was the Gryffindor Quidditch team seeker a few years back when we won the cup, this cup in fact,” as he signaled to the portrait behind him. “I remember holding up the snitch in my hand to celebrate our victory when I saw a flash of light and heard a loud bang. My teammates said I was hit by a tremendous bolt of lightning, which would explain these charred marks on my uniform.
Evidently, my love for Quidditch and flying was enough that I didn’t pass on , so I now haunt the Classrooms, Halls and the Quidditch pitch at Hogwarts as your House Ghost looking for my former Team. I still have the snitch I caught in my hand,” he says, holding up the small golden-winged ball tightly grasp in his left hand.
"As you may have heard as we gathered the other night after the opening feast, I will be teaching flying lessons and officiating the Quidditch matches this term. I hope to see many of you there."
“Please feel free to ask me questions, I shall try to answer them as best as I can, or greet me whenever you see me on the grounds. Remember to support our team this term or if you feel you have the drive and the talent, try out for the team yourself. Good luck and welcome to Gryffindor.” |

"Although we were in the same position last term and those of you who could, put in a lot of hard work and rallied the rest of the Gryffindor students and we were able to win the Cup, so it is possible."

The problem is, we haven't got the best captains in the world, they don't post their teams when they need to! I can think of about 5 or 6 ppl, not to mention myself who would make a better captain.

Spots smiles at Adam's enthusiasm, I agree that your two Captains haven't been the most active recently, I think both have some issues going on outside the school that has taken a lot of their time, and just so you know the Head of House and I are seriuosly considering removing the responsibility of being Captain from them to ease their stress. We will notify the House when that decision is made...........

don't worry adam, i'm sure everything will work out alright...this is a set back but we can still win, if we work hard enough...we've already done a good job with coming back point wise, i know we can win the house cup this term. |

I know. There's still problems, though. We can't say that we're completely all in order, anyway. I guess they would have other time-consuming things to deal with, but if they have, then they should say that they had too many things to deal with so I'll hand the captaincy duties to someone else for a while, instead of having us all impatient and disappointed.

That is because you PMed me a little late so I could not submit your name as one of the starting players... I apologise for that. Quote:

I can think of about 5 or 6 ppl, not to mention myself who would make a better captain. :walks in and hears the comment: Yes as Spots said, we both have things going on, and are on here as much as we possibly can. As for the roster, no one had PMed me about the reserve team, so I could not post a roster at that time. I was away over the weekend, and thought the captain had taken care of the roster. That was just a slight mix up of I thought they were taking care of it. We've had a talk and nothing like that will happen again. I hope everyone is ready for the match tonite. I have confidence in our team and think we will get off to a better start this term than last.
:turns to Spots: Thank you for your understanding in this little mix up, it won't happen again. My appologies again for it happening in the first place.
:goes to leave: There are some homework assignments posted that you can do for some easy house points. I even posted a book (link) I found in the library that can help with some of it.
:walks back to the dorm:

| :ballcap: I think everything will be fine, the most importatn thing to remember is that we are all still in the same House and have the same goals, to win the Quiiditch Cup and eventually the House Cup. This can only be accomplished by team and house unity and participation, both in the match (by everyone being on as much as possible and by strategic substitutions) and by turning in assignments. I feel we're still in a great position to repeat in the Championship but it will take a bit of work on everyone's behalf. Even though some of you might not be "starters" on the team, there are plenty of ways that non-players can help. Using our Quidditch thread during the match for consultation and research of questions would be quite helpful and everyone can be of help there. Good Luck to Gryffindor and remember to come out and support those who are playing.......Spots

| :ballcap: Spots floats back into the common room and over to his corner. He hears several Gryffindor students buzzing about today's match but doesn't look over at them. He realizes that they are excited and have every right to be since as he knew they would, they had begun catching up in the match with the Ravenclaw team. "Yes, I'm going to miss this place," he says to himself, looking at the portrait of the Quidditch Cup he helped win.

:walks in and sees Spots: Hi Spots. I just wanted to appoligise for attacking your way of doing Quidditch here. I have no reason to attack you, because I haven't a better way of doing things. I know you put a lot of time and effort into it, and a lot of people may not realize how much (I ran quidditch on another site, it was horribly time consuming). So although I don't always agree with you, I would like to appologise for the "attacking" comments I might have made. If you, and the other staff, feel there shouldn't be quidditch next term, that is a shame, because it attracts a lot of people to this place. If I were to resign from this team next term, would that make a difference?
:she sits and waits for his remark, knowing fully she does not want to quit, but does not want her actions to ruin this game for everyone in her house, not to mention the school:

| :ballcap: Spots looks up at the Gryffindor Co-Captain and simply but politely says," there will be an announcement at the conclusion of the current match about the decisions being made for the future of both Quidditch and my position within Hogwarts. I would rather not discuss the future of either while the match is still undecided."

:nods her head: I understand Spots, I just wanted to give you my appology. We didn't exactly make things easy on you this match (us nor the Ravenclaws). In my opinion, you at least deserve another term to make tweaks you see fit to make.
:smiles softly, and walks back out to the quidditch pitch:
