Hogwarts RPG Name: Ganymede Craft Slytherin Fifth Year | :: Ganymede watches how hurt Nadia seems. She wants to go follow her but thinks to best let her be alone. She glares menacingly at the Hufflepuff as she finishes bottling her potions. "I wonder if she enjoys having a spleen?" I mutter to myself. ::

Gary watches the accident unfold all of a sudden, and then be repaired rather quickly as well. He's surprised that no one seems tob e introuble-after all, he set a small fire to a desk that he put out quickly, and was given detention for endangering students, yet this, which was also an accident and was clearly endangering someone, and yet no one was given anything. Oh well, it's not as if it really matters, Nadia's safe, at least...
Gary then thinks of something. "Um, Professor Airlia, are you sure Muggles don't have thier own form of shrinking solution as well?"
"How so?" the professor asks incredulously.
"Well, whenever Muggles do laundry in their washers and dryers and other machines, clothes tend to shrink or disappear-especially socks-and I've always wodnered if the detergents had anything to do with that."
The professor laughs. Good, Gary thought, Airlia realized it was a joke. At least this teacher is a ghost with a sense of humor. Afterwards, he completes the notes and waits to see if anything else exciting may happen in class.

ooc: Try not to RP other people's characters. Professor Airlia composed herself after the incident and addressed the class. "Well, after that little display I'm not sure if we need to test our potions. However, since not everyone was paying attention at the time, I believe we will go ahead with your experimentation," she said as Hubert began passing out the mice from the previous class. "One drop down the throat will suffice. Once you've made your observations, Hubert will come back around and administerthe antidote."

Serena took her wriggling mouse into her left hand, and then using her right, she took a drop of her shrinking solution and fed it to the mouse. Almost instantaneously, the mouse shrank down to a small, almost hairless little baby mouse. She almost dropped him, but managed to hang on. "He's really cute," she said to herself, "but I'm sure he's helpless like this." She wrote down what she observed while she waited for Hubert to administer the antidote. After Hubert gave the antidote, she continued taking notes while she held the now 'full-size' wriggling mouse in her left hand.

Jill finished carefully brewing her potion, labeling both vials with her name and house and distributing the potion evenly. Satisfied with her work, Jill walked up to hand in one of her vials, taking a white mouse from Hubert on the way back to her seat. She placed it on her desk to retrieve her potion, but upon return she noticed it nibbling on her notes parchment.
"Ack!" Jill scooped the mouse up before more damage could be done. She gently rubbed its Adam's Apple so that the mouse would open its mouth, and dropped a drop of the Shrinking Solution inside. Just like Nadia, the mouse turned into a tiny baby, its pink hairless body wriggling in the palm of her hand.
"Aww, that's so cute!" Jill smiled as she held the mouse in her left hand, and took down her observations. Luckily, the mouse hadn't eaten any writing. Jill raised her hand for Hubert to administer the antidote, and before she knew it, the lively mouse was trying to nibble at her parchment again. Jill giggled, scooping the mouse away again.

Jaren held his mouse as tightly as possible without actually squishing it--for some reason, he always seemed to get the mouse that fought the most. He dropped the correct amount of potion and watched as it shrunk into a hairless baby mouse, wiggling feebly in his hand. He watched it with interest, waiting for Hurbert to come around with the antidote, also thinking to himself why Nadia kicked up all that fuss. It wasn't really like her...but then again, what did he know?

| After Kali administered the right amount of potion to her mouse, it shrunk into a tiny hairless mouse. "Ew, I think I prefer them with hair," she said quietly to herself as she jotted down some observations while waiting for the antidote from Hubert. |

| Jenn kept in her laughter as she watched Nadia shrink into a child and then being turned back into her normal self. She wanted to stick her tongue out at Nadia when she saw her leave the class all disgraced and saddened. Maybe if Nadia was a bit of not a know-it-all, she'd have more friends and less hatred towards her. Sighing Jenn looked at her potion.
Jenn bottled up her potion and gave the one to Professor Airlia. She kept her eyes closely on anyone else before she bottled three more potions while leaving one out and put the other two deep into her robes. Casting a look in Jaren's way she quickly grinned and stared at her mouse. Poor little mouse, it shouldn't be brought to such a task when there were perfectly good specimens in the class. |

Jaren allowed Hurbert to administer the antidote to the mouse in his hand, and once again found himself dealing with a fierce fighter, attempting to claw and bite its way to freedom. To keep it from escaping he cupped it in his hands and hoped that when it bit, he would be able to override the instinct to let go.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Ari Graduated | ari quietly slipped into the classroom after roaming the halls. she sat in the back of the classroom at an empty table and started, not paying any attention to the potion she was brewing. she knew of the ingredients, having read about them, but she still was very unfocused. this fact came to her attention when she heard crackling coming from her cauldron. "eep!" she squealed quietly

Hogwarts RPG Name: Maximus O. Vindictus III First Year | No Touchy! ♥ demented_teacher Kay administered one drop of her potion to the helpless mouse on her desk. A moment later, the mouse turned into a tiny pink hairless mouse. She picked up the mouse with one hand and carefully cupped it with the other, lightly stroking its small back with one finger. The mouse seemed to relax as Kay tenderly stroked its back. She stopped stroking the mouse and quickly jotted down her observations. Five minutes later, Hubert stopped by her desk with the antidote. Kay took the antidote and carefully administered one drop to the tiny mouse. A second later, the mouse returned to its original size and colour.

1) Prepare your own protocol for the potion we brewed.
2) Record your observations from class (the potion brewing and administration of the potion and antidote)
Bonus: Why do we use one rat spleen in this potion?"

Jaren let the mouse drop from his hands and into the box Hurbert carried over, ignoring the startled squeak it made. It didn't seem to have bitten him too badly, so he wiped his hands on the front of his robe and wrote down the homework.

| Technically technical all the time Bookaholic Suddenly recalling something else about the homework, Professor Airlia spoke up again. "If any of you are interested in discussing the bonus question before handing in the homework (you may hand in the bonus answer separately, if you like), I will be opening the empty dungeon classroom, once more for your use."

| Jenn sighed and quickly dropped a bit on the mouse as she watched him shrink. She really didn't want to shrink the poor mouse but class had ended. Possibly next time she would do what she intended to have done. Quickly putting the mouse in his box she place the mouse with Herburt and gathered her things leaving the class. |

Please remember to be careful and to pay extra attention when walking about with potions in your hands, even if they are bottled up. Accidents can and do happen when we start to become complacent about safety. I look forward to seeing you next class when we'll be discussing and brewing The Shrinking Potion, also known as Medicamentum Contraho."
