Lesson 3

Bree opens her door to her classroom once again, the curtains are blowing gently in the breeze, the room is slightly cool, but the fireplace is glooming slightly in the corner. As usual you see your arithmancy professor sitting her chair behind her desk waiting to begin class....

~*RuBbErDuCkIe*~ 10-18-2004 07:46 PM

Catherine walks in " hello professor, nice to see you!" She then takes a seat near the front

She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho! 10-18-2004 07:55 PM

Nadia enters the room quietly. She looks drained, something is amiss. Her cheeks are slightly flushed and dark orbs obscure her eyes. She sits, in a random spot, and waits.

invisablekitty51 10-18-2004 08:07 PM

Lucy enters the classroom and takes a seat closer to the fire. She was very cold, but not too cold. Lucy just liked the fire. Part of her wanted to touch it, but she shuned this idea and looked away towards the open window....

stardancer488 10-18-2004 08:13 PM

Bree looked at the students, they seemed more or less tired then they usually did. She looked around the desks that were filled by pupils and her eyes came to rest on Nadia. Bree set down her quill and looked at her, "Is everything alright Nadia?" she asked in a calm voice "You look awfully out of it..." she gave her glance that meant she would come talk to her within a minute, she wanted to get the class started, and have a more private conversation with her, "Well class! Today we will start learning about pinnacles, I want you to read pages 20-29 in your book, and then I want someone to give me a defintion or exaplin what exactly a pinnacle is... you may begin..."

Bree watched as students opened there books and began to read, as they did so, she made her wat towards Nadia...

lightstar1154 10-18-2004 08:14 PM

*Sarah hurries in and finds the closest seat she can to a window. She plops down her bag, and opens the window, even though it is near fall. She fans herself as she begins to cool down, and sits in her seat blinking quickly. She looks up to see the teacher giving her an odd look*

Hi... er... I'm sorry, I've been feeling a bit under the weather, but I didn't want to miss any class so yeah... I feel really hot... *holds her throbbing head and squints up* Pages 20-29... *quickly opens her book and flips toward the section*

OCC: Blah... posted late, sorry :)

She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho! 10-18-2004 08:31 PM

Nadia looked up, breathing with difficulties, she tried to explain, "I'm fine, don't worry, just feeling slightly weak." She turned to the page the professor had told them about. She couldn't talk too much, feeling her voice hoarse, but she pointed on the page in question:

Pinnacle Phases

We are all inherently subject to major changes in our lives just as surely as we are subject to death and taxes. Numerology attempts to project major life changes and calls these monumental turns in the road pinnacles. If it weren't for these big transformations in life, the highly successful would become apathetic, and those struggling would soon feel totally hopeless. Pinnacle in our live give us the necessary change of pace and direction that is stimulating and hopeful. Pinnacles show the direction that progress will lead us.

A pinnacle is an experience occurring over a specific time in our life. These pinnacle periods have been likened to the four seasons. The first pinnacle is in the spring of life. The second covering years of family raising and responsibility represents summer. The third covering middle-age and growing maturity of judgment represents the autumn of life, and the forth, consolidating the experiences of life, is represented by winter.

Each pinnacle is represent by a number and the number reflects the tone of the period. The pinnacle number is written in the birth date. We will use the month, the day and the year of birth in this calculation. The first step will be to reduce each of these components to a single digit base number or master number. Thus, December 14, 1968, would become month 3 (1+2), day 5 (1+4), and year 6 (1+9+6+8=24; 2+4=6).

The first period is derived from the adding the month and day of birth. In our example, this would be 3+5=8 first pinnacle.

The second pinnacle is identified by adding the day of birth with the year of birth. The example would be 5+6=11; the master number 11 for a second pinnacle.

The third pinnacle is identified by adding the first and second pinnacle. Our example would have an 8+11=19 or 1 third pinnacle.

The fourth pinnacle is identified by adding the month and the year. Our example would produce a 3+6=9 fourth pinnacle.

The timing of pinnacles varies for each of the first nine Life Path numbers. The timing for the master number 11 is the same a Life Path 2, and the master number 22 is same as the Life Path 4. Here is a chart for determining the timing of pinnacles keyed to your Life Path number:

"It seems to show the changes in your life," she said simply.

stardancer488 10-18-2004 08:39 PM

Bree looked at Nadia, totally unconvinced by what she said, finally concluding on this was not the time to talk to her, especially in an open class withe listeners all around. "If you don't mind talking feel free to stop by my office after class" she said softly and waled back to the fron of the room, "Very good Nadia" Bree knew she knew it with great more detail, and she also knew that she would normally tell all that she knew with much detail, students always thought teachers knew nothing, yet they knew so much more then they showed. "Now, most of you were here last lesson, so you know your life path number, I hope you remember it, if you do not, then I would like you to find it, you find it by adding your month, date, and year of birth together...lets start with pinnacle 1, what age time does this cover, and what season is it associated with?"

Sparkle14 10-18-2004 08:41 PM

rebecca walks in*
"oh hello proffesor!" and takes a seat

aixla 10-18-2004 08:51 PM

Aixla raises her hand "Since the first pinacle is the spring of life, and the second is responsibility and family raising, I would assume that it covers the years from birth to early twenties."

She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho! 10-18-2004 09:02 PM

Nadia took a deep breath and started:

14-2-1985
(1+4)+(0+2)+(1+9+8+5)
5+2+(2+5)
5+2+7= 14
1+4 =5

month 2, day 5, year 7
(ooc: argh! For some reason I can't post the chart!!, but it should look like this)

1 0-35
2/11 0-34
3 0-33
4/22 0-32
5 0-31
6 0-30
7 0-29
8 0-28
9 0-27

"As a matter of fact, I can't understand much of it. What do they mean with ages of the date and such?"

*responding* "The first pinnacle is in the spring of life, it's Spring."

aftonhouse74038 10-18-2004 09:02 PM

-looks up at the board... read pages 20-29. . . . .turns in her book and begins reading. . . -

Reign 10-18-2004 09:11 PM

Reign walks in and takes her seat and begins doing her readings.

stardancer488 10-18-2004 09:43 PM

"good job Aixla, its from birth to about 27, that is also right Nadia, 5 points to both of you." She walked back and fourth a bit as if something was on her mind and shook it away quickly remembering where she was "So... lets calculate pinnacle one, so we can find this by adding the month and day of birth. So remember when you got your life path number you got a number for your month, day and year before adding themm all together? You want to add the number of your day and year... understand? If you don't have any questions, please try to find your pinnacle number, if you have any questions feel free to ask, i'll be walking around to help you, and to check your work, and make sure to show sll work."

aixla 10-18-2004 09:50 PM

Aixla raises her hand "Professor, I'm sorry, but I'm a little confused. I understand how to get my life path number, but as far as my pinnacle number ... in the text it says something about adding birth day and month, but you just said day and year. Which is it?"

"I am sorry did I say year? I meant day and month. Yes, yes day and month I am sorry" she whispered, she couldn't believe herself, how could she confuse the class, arithmancy was already confusing enough without the professor messing everything up... she walked up and down the rows of desks making sure everyone was working and that they didn't have questions... "Anyone need to look over there work?" she questioned...

aixla 10-18-2004 10:02 PM

"Oh, that makes more sense." Aixla quickly scribbled on her parchment and raised her hand.

Life path = 9-14-1979
(0+9)+(1+4)+(1+9+7+9)
9+5+(2+6)= 22 = 4

Pinnacle = 9 - 14
(0+9)+(1+4)
9+5=14= 5

stardancer488 10-18-2004 10:12 PM

"Good job Aixla, 5 more points, remember though not to simplify the master numbers..." she points at the paper "...you need to keep 22 as 22, but your pinnacle was correct, do you know what it means?" she asked.

aixla 10-18-2004 10:15 PM

"Oh, ok." Aixla made a note on her parchment to fix her calculations. She frowned for a moment. "As for my pinacle number, I'm assuming it has something to do with Nadia's chart, but I don't quite understand that part."

~*RuBbErDuCkIe*~ 10-18-2004 10:21 PM

Is this right?
Life path -
(5) + (2+7) + (1+9+9+0)
5 + 9 + 19
33
3+3=6<life path number
pinnacle
day - 9
month - 5
so 5+9=14
1+4=5<first pinnacle

lightstar1154 10-18-2004 11:06 PM

*Sarah looked at her blank paper. When someone isn't feeling great, things tend to go in one ear and out the other... Something about a month and a day? Sarah scritched down some notes quietly*

Month- 11 Day- 03
11+0+3
14=5

aftonhouse74038 10-18-2004 11:10 PM

um...im kinda confuzed. . . .

life path-(0+6)+(2+5)+(1+9+9+2)
0+6=6 2+5=7 1+9+9+2=21
21=2+1=3
6+7+3=16
16=1+6=7
life path=7

pinnacle=
6-25
month-06
day-25

(6)+(2+5)
6+7=13
1+3=4
pinnacle=4

-raises hand-

"Is this right professor?"

She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho! 10-18-2004 11:26 PM

((ooc/sorry, didn't meant to cover practically all of the class with that note from before, I was thinking it was only 'mentioning' of the pinnacle. Also I misunderstood the question at first, so I now editted))

14-2-1985
(1+4)+(0+2)+(1+9+8+5)
5+2+(2+5)
5+2+7= 14
1+4 =5

month 2, day 5,
2+5= 7

So I guess the corresponding 7 => 0-29, but I don't know what does that numbers means either. The chart I am using is confusing to me too.

My Pinnacle, 7, it says, means "influence of learning, investigating, and gaining skills. The number 7 is a somewhat introverted number and you will tend to be more of a loner while the pinnacle is in effect than you will be in other times of your life. You will be more comfortable working alone, and while marriage is not out of the question during this time, it will take a good bit of effort. You are apt to need periods of isolation to develop inner resources. This time will be especially marked by a your lack of interest in material matters and little concern with practical affairs. This lack of concern can result in some financial shortages, limited material benefits, or possibly physical handicaps."

It sounds like me. As me 24/7.

The First Pinnacle... Seven. With the number 7 first pinnacle, my circle of friends will not be large and I may have difficulty finding those you get along with. I'm a serious student, motivated to learn by inner yearnings. My youth may be a difficult and confusing time.

...pity is a little late to know that.

Lilbitmore 10-18-2004 11:29 PM

Landes sat in the lesson taking notes. He wasn't to good with rtimancy work but he knew that in the Slytherin Common Room if he need help they would help him.

Genie 10-18-2004 11:46 PM

::genie looks back at her notes from last class and sees her life path number::

life path = 8

first pinnacle:

03 +17 =
(0+3) + (1+7)=
3 + 8 = 11
1+1=2

::raises hand::

is this correct professor?
