| | Class #2 Muggle Occupations Ok class, I was very pleased with the submission for homework for our last lesson, hopefully we can continue with the good work. Now, muggle occupations, even though some of you may train here at Hogwarts as a witch or wizard some of you may decide to pursue alternate options available to you especially if you come from muggle parentage. Now, we are going to disuss some of those options to you. Now many muggle occupations mirror those some of you may follow as a witch or a wizard. What are some of the occupations in the wizarding world that are similar to that in the muggle world? |

Singspell*!* takes notes and is fabergatsted by the intelligence of her fellow classmates....WOW....
"I do beleive that the gamekeeper is a person that takes care of animals. It could also be called the person that would be a referee for the muggle world? That is depending what way you were meaning the question." *I hope I just did not put my foot in my mouth and made myself look dumb...*

*snaps out of her stupor, and her ears perk up when she heard the word 'sports'*
The way I see it in our world, I think a gamekeeper has multiple roles. Not only does he take care of animals as singspell siad, I think he also acts as a kind of 'overseer' or maybe a foreman in place like Hogwarts.

Serena raised her hand, "A gamekeeper one who is employed to protect and maintain game birds and animals, especially on an estate or a game preserve.
I guess Hogwarts is an estate of sorts."

| Very good Shannon. A gamekeeper is someone who looks after and cares for the animals here at Hogwarts. Now some of you are a little confused thinking about our old gamekeeper Hagrid who had many roles when he was here at Hogwarts. Yes Hagrid was responsible for taking care of the grounds as well as being Keeper of the Keys, however, these are just seperate titles that Hagrid held. By no way if you are a gamekeeper do you need to hold other positions. Now the similiarities between a gamekeeper and a veterinarian are great. In the muggle world a veterinarian is responsible for the well-being of many animals. What are some animals muggles keep as pets that a veterinarian may take care of?

Serena raised her hand, "The most popular muggle pets are dogs, cats and birds! Some even keep ferrets, rabbits, gerbils, mice and rats. I actually have a pet squirrel, but those aren't common."

Nadia hears, "Interesting, I never knew people could have so many pets. I recall once hearing about people having fishes, golden fishes r alike, and thenthere ws this other species, the reptiles, and some people have from snakes to lizards. And spiders! Also birds, such as canaries and parrots.
We wizards have owls, cats, mice and frogs are main pets... We have magicl ceratures as pets, but appart from that we do have it is common with muggles on our coice of pets. Guess they don't have runespoors or phoenix.
Still the one both wizards and muggles can have and I like the most, is" - makes dramatic pause -"the monkey! I swear, I have always wanted to have one. The sad this is that they use chimances and other monkeys for experimentations so much, muggles do... They use rats, dogs, everything. I don't think they care too much for animals."
*she tsked with a sad tone at the end*

goats also give milk. I believe they use it to make different cheeses. The fleece of the goat is used to make mohair, a material sometimes used to make many items such as sweaters.

like everyone else said, the most common are fluffy, easy to care animals like cats, dogs, rabbits, rodents, etc. I even heard of someone who had 7 tigers at home, no kidding! As for marine animals as pets there are also many--fish, turtles, and even the pirhana, a fish that has extremely sharp teeth. I guess a veterinarian could take care of these too.

'Twelve tigers! That's mad! No one in their right minds would want to have a tiger for a pet!' Sangeetha exclaimed, laughing as well.

^yeah, I know! But the guy's rich and he owns a bunch of other exotic animals as well. I had a cat, but they all either got run over by a car, ran away, or simply disappeared. |

| Everyone is right basically any animal can be a pet to a muggle however, some muggles feel that the larger animals such as tigers are dangerous and most don't keep them as pets. Now The similarities between a gamekeeper and a veterinarian are very great. A vet, for short, looks after animals and cares for them should they become ill or injured. Vets also provided "preventative" care to protect animals against future illness. Many muggle children dream of becoming vets when they become adults simply because muggle children love animals. Now for your homework assignment for class 2. Now as usual, all submissions must be sent to professor_evans_office@hotmail.com and must be submitted no later than Wednesday, November 17 @ 11:59pm EST. You assignment is as follows: Please provided two paragraphs one of which would be your choice of career in the wizard world and the other your choice of career in the muggle world. In each paragraph please provide a short description of the career, what type of training or schooling it requires and why it is your choice. Each paragraph should be a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 300 words. Do not forget to submit your SS nick, member number and house, I will not ask for this again if your work is submitted without it you will not receive any marks for it.
