Mint looks at her wand. It is 10 inches, made of oak, with a dragon-heart string core. She thinks about what the book says about being a leader and that seemed true. Also that it is good with Care of MAgicam Creatures, and she loves animals/creatures.

*My dad failed to tell me about this stuff* he thought. *I only know how to use certain charms.*

Arkee looked at Greek_snitch with wide eyes.

"You were allowed to bring a foreign-made wand? Why couldn't I have brought a foreign-made wand?!"

She shook her head in disappointment.

"I would love to have an olive wood wand. It's the most sacred tree to the Greeks, after all. Mind you, I like my oak wand, and its dragon heart-string core, but sometimes I think there are more fitting wands out there."

"where did you see about the wood and the length? did i miss that some how?" Catherine asks Megan. She also says hi back.

"..i see...if they can take a Veela hair as the core, then they should make one with Muggle hair or a pure blood hair...i mean seriously..." she shook her head...

"I have an 11" Holly wand, um", she said looking at her wand trying to remeber the core feather, "Oh yeah! It's a phoenix feather core. I forgot."

*raise* Professsor, I'm confessing that I did some experimenting with my wand. In my first year I added to the core some powder of the baby seeds of a Fireseed plant, we study them in Herbology. They suppose to make a spell more powerful. Anyway, I tried that and at first I thought I had broke my wand, it wasn't working. Then finally it started working as normal again. Insteresting, isn't it?

Eric inspected his wand closely, trying to remember what the old wandmaker had told him. "Erm...10 inches, acacia, dragon-heartstring," he said.

Hmm...mine is 11 ½ inches, beechwood, with a phoenix feather. Is good for Charms, Transfiguration, and almost anything on the planet.

Elle examines her wand in interest and confusion, "I think mine is 12 inches, oak, pheonix feather... I can lead sometimes... Professor/ Does our wand have to relate to our personalities? Because in relationships opposites attract, so can it be the same with wands?"

Tina looks at her Unicorn Hair, Ebony, 12 3/4 inches wand. "Hmmm... I have to say, that the unicorn hair description fits me besides the fact about religion. I am religious, yes, but I'm that THAT religious." she mutters.

Serena holds up her wand, "My wand is willow, 14 inches, and it has a Phoenix Feather core. I definitely would rather lead, I love transifiguration, and I can be a little impatient... I want to know everything now!"

Well I was suposed to join a wizarding school down there, but I thought this school would offer me the opportunity to meet people from other countries.
And olive trees are high in the regard of wizards over there.

smile looks at her wand, puzzled, and says, 'i dunno how long this thing is.. but i think its either willow mahogany or unicorn hair..but all i know is that transfiguration will be my favourite lesson!'

"Mine is a strange combination," Ashlie said proudly. "Thirteen inch MOhogany with dragon heartstring and moondust."

smile starts measuring her wand and says,'i think its 11 inches..'

Francis waits patiently. A lot of students seem to be waiting for the professor's attention. Sitting down comfortably, she waits for the Professor to answer all the questions and move on with the lesson.

Madame Noire rummages through her notes when suddenly she hears the door bang shut. She lifts her gaze, and sees ~*RuBbErDuCkIe*~ enter the classroom, late.

"Ahem, excuse me. May I have a good reason for being tardy? I'm sorry, but I'll have to take 5 points from Hufflepuff for this."

She shakes her head and returns to teaching.

Lee_Halliwell: "It is one of those things no one has ever been able to find out. It is ancient magic, so ancient it's roots go back to the very creation of this earth. There have been some theories, though. Everything in this world resonates at a certain frequency. Each frequency is unique. It is believed that a wand always resonates at the same frequency as the wizard - this is why only you yourself can buy or make a wand that is truly yours. Family members tend to have "frequencies" similar to each others', so on rare occasions it is possible to have your mother or father, for example, pick out a wand for you. But there is always that small difference, no matter how minimal, that makes a wand bought by someone else not 100% yours. But this is often not very noticeable. "Someone asked about wands being wrong. This is not possible, except under one circumstance - someone (who does not have a same type of resonance as you) has given or bought the wand to you. "You've been asking about wood qualities. Woods, just like people, are grown in different environments and treated differently. Back from old ages long gone, trees have been held at a special honour. They are sacred and ancient, having seen many generations and worlds. Wand-wood is cut only from the oldest and most experienced trees, and then too only the branches. The cut is healed right after snipping off some wood.

Many woods are protective woods. One reason for this might be because in old times, people made shelters and fortresses out of these trees. Such trees are, for example, mahogany, holly, ash and rowan.

Turn to page 19 of your text books, please. There you'll see a complete list of wand woods and their qualities. Of course, it does not contain every single wood in the world, as that is pretty much of an impossible task to do. The woods are listed in alphabetical order. After them are listed the strongest personality traits they contain, or the things they are specialised at doing.

Francis writes down what the Professor says as fast as she can. Then, smiling, she looks up.

my wand is a 12 1/2 inch wand, oak (leaves), which means im brave and couragious(sp?), and it has an Phoenix feather. i guess im quite lucky!

As the proffesor talks she writes the notes on the piece of parchment. She glances up and smiles. ' this is gonna be quite an interesting class'

Pookah looked honestly embarrased by the time tha class had discussed their different wands. She finally found the courage to take hers out and show it to the Professor.

Looking intently at Professor Noire, she said in a quick whisper: "this is my wand, father is terrified of it; but it indeed chose me. Rowan, 14 inches, thestral hair."
